We traded our three-bedroom, two-bathroom house with a yard for a small one-bedroom apartment. We lived in a neighborhood called the Lower East Side, and there were a lot of people with different cultural backgrounds there. This was my father’s idea. He wanted us to have a more cultural childhood. We were closer to museums and theaters. My school had students from all over the world, and I learned how to go there taking the subway every day. I also got to eat many different kinds of food, which was much better than in New Jersey. But there were some bad things. I didn’t like having to share a bedroom with my parents, and I don’t think they did, either! Also, the roads outside were always noisy, and when it was hot, the smell made me want to throw up! But I have to say that my favorite part of living in the city was my neighbors. My neighborhood was mostly made up of families with kids of my age, so it was easy to make friends. Every evening after dinner, all the kids would go to the park and play. And since everyone knew each other, it was really safe. I’m glad we moved to the city! A Welcome to LearnEnglish Teens — a site for teenagers who are learning English as a second or foreign language. The emotional reunion took place nine days after the terrifying accident. At that time, Nimmo was driving when he suffered a heart attack and lost control of his car. By chance, Dr. Idowu was nearby and noticed the crash. As Nimmo waited to meet the man who had helped save him, he said the moment had been in his mind ever since the accident. “I counted down the days,” Nimmo shared. “We communicated back and forth a few times, but I couldn’t wait to meet him.” When the two finally reconnected, the moment was deeply moving. Dr. Idowu said he simply did what he felt was right — immediately performing CPR (心肺复苏) on Nimmo while waiting for first responders to arrive. “It’s not always that we get to see results like this,” Dr. Idowu said. “To be able to see him and share this joy with him and his family makes me feel extremely excited.” When they reunited and Nimmo had regained some strength, Dr. Idowu even took a minute to listen to his heartbeat himself — a small action that powerfully showed how harmonious (和谐的) and warm the atmosphere of their meeting was at that time. For Nimmo, the experience has completely changed how he views life and the holidays ahead. “This Thanksgiving feels like a reward,” he said, adding that every holiday from now on feels especially meaningful. “Every Thanksgiving, every Christmas — they’ll all be different because of you.” Despite the praise, Dr. Idowu was quick to point out that many people played a role that day. He praised everyone present — from bystanders and police officers to EMS teams and hospital staff — and valued his faith as well. “All of it came together in his favor,” Dr. Idowu said. 24. Why did Nimmo have a car accident? A. His car broke down. B. He suddenly fell ill. C. Someone ran after him. D. He made a sharp turn. 25. Which word best describes Nimmo’s feeling before meeting Dr. Idowu? A. Eager. B. Calm. C. Confident. D. Relaxed. 26. What impressed Dr. Idowu most according to paragraph 4? A. The help from hospital workers. B. The CPR he performed on Nimmo. C. The seriousness of the car accident. D. The meeting with Nimmo once again. 27. What did Dr. Idowu stress in the last paragraph? A. Great medical equipment. B. The importance of trusting each other. C. The effort of people present. D. The need to learn medical knowledge. B 25. A 26. D 27. 根据第二段中的“At that time, Nimmo was driving when he suffered a heart attack and lost control of his car.(当时尼莫正在开车,突发心脏病,车辆失去了控制。)” 根据第三段中的“I counted down the days. We communicated back and forth a few times, but I couldn’t wait to meet him.(我数着日子。我们来回沟通了几次,但我迫不及待想见到他。)”可知,在见到伊多武医生之前,尼莫的心情是急切的。故选A项。 根据第四段中的“To be able to see him and share this joy with him and his family makes me feel extremely excited.(能够见到他,并与他和他的家人分享这份喜悦,让我感到无比激动。)” 根据最后一段中的“He praised everyone present — from bystanders and police officers to EMS teams and hospital staff.(他赞扬了在场的每一个人——从旁观者、警察到急救人员和医院工作人员。)” C The San Juan Islands are a little group of islands off the coast of the Pacific Northwest, and people tend to come there for their outdoor activities and to see whales, especially killer whales. It’s one of the best places in the world to see killer whales, in part because there are some populations that often travel to the area. On one side of the island, you can go to the state park, where the seafloor drops to nearly 1,000 feet right off the shore. And so people can actually gather on the coastline and sometimes see whales just a few feet off the shore. It’s a perfect place where people and killer whales can gather pretty close together. And then of course, there’re whale-watching tours, and so on, but you’ll find a lot of souvenirs related to killer whales in the little town of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. And you actually don’t just stay on the cliffside; you can go out onto a boat with researchers. Whales can be found all over the world. Why are experts studying this particular population? Strictly speaking, killer whales all belong to the same species, but they have many different ecological (生态的) types, which are kinds of specialized groups that live around the world. So they’re not all the same. The southern resident killer whales, which the experts study, are resident killer whales, and that means they’re fish-eating and they have certain characteristics, for example, a sharp cry like a kitten’s call. Even though they share overlapping (重叠的) living places with nearby killer whale populations, they do not communicate with each other. They have unique languages, unique cultures, different customs and habits, and their ranges of activity also change; they form an independent population on their own. Today, the southern resident killer whales are at risk. There are only 74 of them left, which is small, and their former population may have been close to 200. What caused that population failure? At bottom, it is the arrival of humans. 28. What makes it possible for people to get so close to whales? A. The guidance of experts. B. A special geographical condition. C. The great patience of the whales. D. The comfortable climate in the area. 29. What can we learn about killer whales? A. They only live near islands. B. They form different groups. C. They are of different species. D. They make the same sound. 30. What does the text say about the southern resident killer whales? A. They don’t make any sound during their travel. B. They live far from other killer whale populations. C. They do not connect with other killer whale groups. D. They share their cultures with other whale populations. 31. Which of the following can be the best title for the text? A. Knowledge about Killer Whales B. Strange Habits of Killer Whales C. Human Influence on Killer Whales D. Benefits of Close Whale-Watching 【答案】28. B 29. B 30. C 31. 根据第二段的内容“On one side of the island, you can go to the state park, where the seafloor drops to nearly 1,000 feet right off the shore. And so people can actually gather on the coastline and sometimes see whales just a few feet off the shore. It’s a perfect place where people and killer whales can gather pretty close together.(在岛屿的一侧,你可以前往州立公园。在那里,海底在紧靠岸边的地方就陡然深至近1000英尺。因此,人们可以聚集在海岸线上,有时还能看到鲸鱼就在离海岸仅几英尺的地方出现。这是一个非常适合人们和虎鲸聚集在一起的地方。)”可知,岛屿一侧州立公园近岸海床骤降,此特殊地理条件让人们能在岸边近距离观鲸。故选B。 【29题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段的内容“Strictly speaking, killer whales all belong to the same species, but they have many different ecological (生态的) types, which are kinds of specialized groups that live around the world. So they’re not all the same.(严格来说,虎鲸都属于同一物种,但它们有着多种不同的生态类型,即分布在世界各地的各类特殊群体。所以它们并非完全相同。)”可知,严格来说,虎鲸都属于同一物种,但它们有许多不同的生态类型。故选B。 【30题详解】 细节理解题。根据第六段的内容“Even though they share overlapping (重叠的) living places with nearby killer whale populations, they do not communicate with each other. They have unique languages, unique cultures, different customs and habits, and their ranges of activity also change; they form an independent population on their own.(尽管它们与附近的虎鲸种群共用相同的栖息地,但它们之间却不会进行交流。 A。 D Meta has introduced a new set of smart glasses in partnership with Ray-Ban, which put the power of AI right in front of your eyes. The model named “Display” pushes users to give up the smartphone and interact (互动) more with their environment. These are the new Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, the next generation of AI-powered wearables. Meta promises that with these glasses, users won’t need to spend so much time looking down at their phone. Unlike previous versions, which you could only interact with by voice, these feature a tiny display inside the glasses. And they come with what’s called a neural (神经的) watch, so you can control them simply with hand and finger gestures. They’re a bit heavier than previous versions of the Meta Ray-Ban. They still look and feel more or less like regular glasses, just slightly thicker and heavier. People around you won’t be able to see what you’re seeing on the glasses’ display. That’s by design, so your messages or photos remain private. It’s probably going to take some getting-used-to for most people to interact with the world around while seeing a little display in front of their eyes. But I am surprised by how high quality the display is. You’re going to have to take my word for it on this one because you can only see it if you’re wearing them. And I like it that you can turn the display on and off. So, if you’re doing focused work or walking around outside, you won’t be troubled. When you turn it on, you can catch and view photos and videos. There are functions like real-time subtitles (字幕), navigation and video calling. You can ask AI about your surroundings and also view and reply to messages. You may remember Google tried to do this back in 2013 with Google Glass. But that product flopped because it was expensive, out-of-date, and had fewer functions. 32. What can users do with the smart glasses on? A. Learn AI knowledge faster. B. Give up traditional watches. C. Put their smartphones aside. D. Operate their phones without using hands. 33. What did the designer consider when designing the glasses? A. Good points of previous products. B. The weight and size of the glasses. C. Habits of using traditional glasses. D. The protection of private information. 34. How can the convenience of turning on and off the display help the user? A. It makes translation easier. B. It keeps users from danger. C. It offers non-stop voice directions. D. It ensures uninfluenced focus. 35. What does the underlined word “flopped” in the last paragraph mean? A. Failed. B. Rose. C. Returned. D. Improved. C 33. D 34. D 35. 根据第一段中的“The model named “Display” pushes users to give up the smartphone and interact (互动) more with their environment. (这款名为“Display”的产品促使用户放下智能手机,更多地与周围环境互动。)”可知,用户戴上这款智能眼镜可以把智能手机放在一边。故选C项。 【33题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中的“People around you won’t be able to see what you’re seeing on the glasses’ display. That’s by design, so your messages or photos remain private. (你周围的人无法看到你在眼镜显示屏上看到的内容。这是刻意设计的,以便你的信息或照片保持私密。)”可知,设计师在设计时考虑到了对用户私人信息的保护。故选D项。 【34题详解】 细节理解题。根据第五段中的“And I like it that you can turn the display on and off. So, if you’re doing focused work or walking around outside, you won’t be troubled. (而且我喜欢可以随意开关显示屏的设计。这样,如果你在专注工作或在户外行走,就不会受到干扰。)”可知,开关显示屏的便捷性可以保证用户不被打扰,专注做事。故选D项。 【35题详解】 词句猜测题。根据最后一段中的“But that product flopped because it was expensive, out-of-date, and had fewer functions. (但该产品因为价格昂贵、过时且功能较少而flopped。)”可知,句中列举了价格高、款式陈旧、功能少等一系列负面缺点,这些因素共同导致产品无法获得市场认可,因此flopped意为“失败、未能成功”。故选A项。 A good night’s sleep or even a quick nap leaves you recharged and energetic. While it’s possible to fall asleep anywhere, people always look for comfortable places to get some sleep. The “potato bed” is a new lifestyle trend (趋势). ____36____ The sleeper lies in the middle, with soft pillows and blankets (毯子) all around. What Is a Potato Bed ____37____ It is created by putting comfortable items together — pillows, feather quilts, natural cloth and blankets. This sleeping way can provide warmth and gentle deep pressure. To make a potato bed, you can begin by turning a bedsheet that normally fits around a cushion, upside down. Then, line its inside edge with blankets and pillows. Fill a comfortable quilt in the middle and then get in. Cocooning (作茧) for a Better Night’s Sleep The potato bed is all about “cocooning” or building a comfortable “nest-like” sleeping space. This sleeping method may support better rest. It makes your body feel peaceful and your mind feels safe. ____38____ When and How to Use the Potato Bed Cocooning may help reduce anxiety by creating a sense of being held, but the trend isn’t for everyone. It may not be suitable for young children, pets or disabled persons as they may struggle to safely move in limited spaces. ____39____ That can cause backaches. For this reason, experts suggest using this trend only for a short period of time, rather than throughout the night. Testing Out the Potato Bed Another possible concern about this trend is that some may become dependent on it to fall asleep. However, for many, the potato bed provides a harmless and calming experience. ____40____ If you have had a good night’s sleep, and you wake up with no aches and pains, then the chances are that you are sleeping fine and your sleeping environment is great. A. So, it’s easier for you to fall asleep. B. It lets people sleep like a cooked potato. C. Thick blankets can create too much heat. D. You had better tell your family before making it. E. A potato bed is an extra-comfortable sleeping corner. F. It’s easy to test whether potato-bedding works for you. G. The potato bed may also lead to unnatural sleeping positions. B 37. E 38. A 39. G 40. 【36题详解】 由上文“The “potato bed” is a new lifestyle trend (趋势). I was driving to a class to renew my CPR card that I needed for my job. As I pulled into the place where the training was being held, I saw the parking lot was almost entirely full. This parking lot wasn’t very big, and I often couldn’t find a parking spot like this inside it. Luckily, there was one spot left and I headed towards it, only to see another car coming towards it from the other direction. I wondered if I should give up this parking space. At that time, we both stopped and I saw the tired face of a young woman behind the wheel. I waved to her, letting her go on into the spot while I backed up and pulled around the building to find another one. By the time I found a spot and got to the room, the class had already started. I saw one seat still empty. It was beside the woman I had given the parking spot to. I sat down and she explained how sorry she was for taking my spot. In her arms, I saw a young baby. She said her sitter had left for home and she couldn’t find another, so here she was, late for class because she had to bring the baby with her. I told her not to worry about it and looked down at the little angel in her arms. I could see how stressed she was, worried that her child would disturb (打扰) the class or keep her from completing the training. The class was long but the baby stayed quiet until it was time to practice CPR on the plastic models. She had to carry out her task with both hands. So she placed the baby’s milk powder (奶粉) and bottle on the floor. But as soon as she started to lay the baby down, the little girl started to cry. 注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 I offered to take care of her baby after finishing my task. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When I told my mother about this, she offered to look after the baby the next class. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: I offered to take care of her baby after finishing my task. The woman was deeply grateful and agreed immediately. I held the baby gently, picked up the milk bottle, and went outside to wander. I gently comforted the baby and sang a soft song to calm her down. I fed her some milk. Soon the baby was smiling at me. With the baby quiet in my arms, her mother finished the task smoothly. She thanked me again and we exchanged contact information and promised to keep in touch with each other. When I told my mother about this, she offered to look after the baby the next class. Soon it was time for the next class. My mother and I drove to the classroom together. She brought a baby stroller, a set of baby clothes and some baby food. The woman and her baby had already arrived. When we told her our plan, she was moved to tears. She trusted us and gave the baby to my mother. Then my mother took the baby outside, so she could attend the training without worry. It was a small act of kindness, but it made a big difference. 词汇激活 行为类: ①同意:agree/consent/approve ②闲逛:wander/hang out ③交换:exchange/swap 情绪类: ①感激的:grateful/thankful/appreciative ②感动的:moved/touched 【点睛】【高分句型1】I gently comforted the baby and sang a soft song to calm her down. (运用了动词不定式短语作状语) 【高分句型2】When we told her our plan, she was moved to tears. (运用了when引导的状语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $英语科听力部分,该部分分为第一第二两节。注意回答听力部分时,请先将答案标在试卷上。听力部分结束前,你将有两分钟的时间将你的答案转涂到答题卡上。现在是听力试音时间。Hello, international friends club. can I help you? When I was five, we traded our three bedroom, two bathroom house with a yard for a small one bedroom apartment. We lived in a neighborhood called the lower east side, and there were a lot of people with different cultural backgrounds there. This was my father's idea. He wanted us to have a more cultural childhood. We were closer to museums and theatres, my school's students from all over the world. And I learned how to go there taking the subway everyday. I also got to eat many different kinds of food, which was much Better than in new jersey. But there were some bad things. I didn't like having to share a bedroom with my parents, and I don't think they did either. Also, the roads outside were always noisy, and when I was hot, the smell made me want to throw up. But I have to say that my favorite part of living in the city was my neighbors. My neighborhood was mostly made up of families with kids of my age, so IT was easy to make friends. Every evening after dinner, all the kids would go to the park in play. And since everyone knew each other, IT was really safe. I'm glad we moved to the city. B More than a week after suffering a heart attack behind the wheel, John Nimmo was reunited (重逢) with Dr. Kehinde Idowu, the physician who helped rescue him after his vehicle crashed (碰撞) on a busy roadway in Roswell, Georgia. C The San Juan Islands are a little group of islands off the coast of the Pacific Northwest, and people tend to come there for their outdoor activities and to see whales, especially killer whales. Benefits of Close Whale-Watching D Meta has introduced a new set of smart glasses in partnership with Ray-Ban, which put the power of AI right in front of your eyes. A. Failed. B. Rose. C. Returned. D. Improved. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。选项中有两项为多余选项。 A good night’s sleep or even a quick nap leaves you recharged and energetic. G. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
