B Millie found an article about copyright protection.
Read it and answer the questions below.
Say no to pirated books
We all love great books and amazing characters, and we should thank
the writers and respect their work. It takes great effort for a book to reach
its readers. The writer has worked hard to write the book. And they may
have difficulty getting the book published because publishers cannot say
for sure if the book will be successful or not.
Once a book is published, the writer’s work does not end there. They still
have to be careful about protecting their copyright. Some people make
copies and share them without the writer's agreement. This harms not
only the writer but the book industry as well.
As readers, it is important to say no to pirated books. In this way, we can
all work together to build and enjoy a healthy book market.
1 What are the two main problems for writers?
2 Why is it important to protect a book’s copyright?
The writer has worked hard to write the book. And they may have difficulty getting the book published.
Because pirated books harm not only the writer but the book industry as well.

Millie: The first one, please. And can I borrow more than one book at a time?
Mrs Li: Sure. You can borrow three books at a time, but you must return them within a month.
