Introduce the Double Ninth Festival Step 2 Presentation Activity1: read about the Double Ninth Festival 1. Have students read the article in Part A on P100 and answer the questions: When is this festival? What do we do on this festival? What does the name of the festival mean? 2. Have students discuss: Does your family have any special traditions on this festival? What are they? Step 3 Practice Activity 2: Read and complete 1. have students read the table in Part B on P100 and predict the answers 2. have students listen to the recording and complete the notes Tip1: Before listening, go through the notes to predict the possible answer. Tip2: While listening, take notes in shorthand. Tip3: After listening, check for mistakes. 3.
