Section Ⅵ　Writing 写作项目——Writing a persuasive letter 本单元的写作任务是写一封与环保相关的倡议信。倡议信是就某一事情或问题，向有关部门或群体发出倡议、提出建议时所使用的日常应用文体。倡议信的目的在于引起广泛的响应，因此应交代清楚倡议的原因，并申明发布倡议的目的，以便读者理解和信服。同时，为使读者响应号召、参与行动，倡议的内容一定要具体化； 需要开展怎样的活动，其价值和意义都有哪些，均需清晰明确地呈现出来。 由教材学写作 一、学文体架构 根据Activity 5中的倡议信，可总结出此类文体的框架结构如下： 二、学逻辑组材 1．本文第一段首句中作者使用“We are writing this letter to call on ...”这一句式，开门见山地发出倡议；文章最后一句 “Let's start doing ...” 呼吁读者参与到活动中来，与首段照应且体现了倡议信的文体特点。 2．本文内容安排详略得当，文章对倡议的背景、所倡议的活动做了简要介绍，详细描写了倡议的具体事项，且在叙述时采用了分条呈现的形式，并多用祈使句式，使得内容清晰明了、简洁凝练，同时富有号召性。 三、学衔接过渡 本文运用了不同的衔接手段：第一段第二句中的主语“It”指代第一句中的“the Clear Your Plate campaign”，通过代词指代实现了上下文的衔接顺畅；第一段第三句运用并列连词while将前后相对的内容衔接在一起；第二段中运用了句式结构衔接法，作者运用了三个祈使句，形成平行结构，将三条不同的倡议内容有序排列在一起。第三段从行文逻辑上来讲属于总结，首句点明了该倡议活动的意义，第二句发出呼吁，同时结束正文。全文结构紧凑，行文自然流畅。 四、学语言风格 倡议信措辞要求情感充沛，号召力强，行文时可用祈使句表达倡议举措，还可用should, ought to, may, can等表示建议的情态动词，本文中即用到了情态动词may, could, can 和多个祈使句。 五、学靓丽表达 第一段第二句中使用了动词urge“催促；极力主张”表达了强烈的情感，体现了倡议信的措辞特点。第三句中使用并列连词while，使前后文形成鲜明对比，“一方面是食物浪费，另一方面是有人在忍饥挨饿”，产生了极佳的表达效果。 写作项目指导 Write a persuasive letter to call on people to protect our environment ——写一封倡议信号召大家保护环境 第一步：构思谋篇 Part 1 What's the existing environmental problem？ Part 2 What are the solutions to it？ Part 3 Make a call for action. 第二步：要点表达 第一部分　提出倡议 倡议的主题是什么，为什么要提出此类倡议？ ①As global warming has been worsening in recent years, we'd like to appeal to every one to_make_joint_efforts to protect the environment. 随着近年来全球变暖的加剧，我们呼吁大家共同努力保护环境。 ②I am writing to raise_your_awareness_of some improper behaviour among us students：littering and scribbling. 我写信是为了提高你们对我们学生中一些不当行为的认识：乱扔垃圾和乱涂乱画。 ③The problem of “white pollution” caused by used plastic is_becoming_increasingly_serious,_in which plastic shopping bags play an important role. 废旧塑料造成的“白色污染”问题日益严重，其中塑料购物袋是主要的污染来源。 ④Our school produces_a_lot_of_rubbish every day, such as leftover food, waste paper and plastic bottles, which brings a wide range of environmental problems as well as the waste of resources. 我们学校每天都会产生很多垃圾，比如剩饭、废纸和塑料瓶，这造成了各种环境问题以及资源的浪费。 第二部分　具体举措 怎样具体实施这一倡议？ 1．从个人角度 ①I'm appealing to all of you to ride bikes to school as a way to fight_with/against_air_pollution. 我呼吁大家骑自行车上学来抵制空气污染。 ②As senior students, we can actively_participate_in_social_activities that care for nature. 作为高中生，我们可以积极参与关爱自然的社会活动。 ③We can choose to use both sides of paper as often as possible to_protect_the_forests. 为了保护森林，我们应尽可能正反两面使用纸张。 ④We had better have meals in our canteen instead of bringing_food_back_with_plastic_bags. 我们最好在食堂吃饭，而不是用塑料袋把食物带回来。 ⑤We had better form_a_habit_of_saving_energy such as turning off the lights when you leave, using public transportation and recycling waste. 我们最好养成节约能源的习惯，比如离开时随手关灯、使用公共交通工具以及回收利用废弃物。 2．从社会角度 ①Besides, related laws and regulations should be_made_to_stop_polluting_the_ocean. 此外，应该制定相应的法律法规来阻止污染海洋。 ②Schools can also hold more activities which help draw students' attention to the waste of resources, like organizing competitions or having lectures. 学校也可以举办更多的活动来帮助吸引学生关注资源浪费，比如举办竞赛或召开讲座。 ③The media can help _spread_more_knowledge_about the climate change so as to raise people's awareness of environmental protection. 媒体可以帮助传播更多关于气候变化的知识，从而提高人们保护环境的意识。 第三部分　号召和呼吁 ①Let's take action from now on. We should not leave the lights on in the daytime or leave water running after washing.
