写作项目——Writing a recipe
本单元的写作任务是写一篇介绍一道美食及其制作方法的短文,属于事物说明文。事物说明文一般是通过介绍事物的形状、构成、类别、功能等使人们对该事物形成客观认识。写作时应抓住事物的显著特点,按照正确的说明顺序,采用恰当的说明方法进行介绍。语言风格方面,在介绍美食时应注重运用一些描述性的词语来讲述其起源、口味等主要特点;在介绍其制作方法时则应侧重说明性语言,表述应尽量简洁清晰。

说明文的语言讲究言简意赅,不拖沓,无赘余。如课文的Instructions部分,在介绍制作过程时全部使用了祈使句,并根据实际表达需要,灵活使用了时间状语从句与祈使句相结合(When the oil is hot, add ...),以及并列祈使句(Add the spring onions and stir ...)。
三、学亮点表达
为使说明的事物能给读者留下深刻的印象,在描述事物特点时应尽量详细具体,用词讲究生动形象。如课文第一段第一句中使用了过去分词短语also known as Kung Pao Chicken作后置定语,名词短语a high-ranking court official of the Qing Dynasty作同位语,丰富了细节内容;第二段第一句中的spicy,salty, sweet and sour细致入微地介绍了宫保鸡丁的口感,hard to resist则形象地写出了这道菜味道诱人,令人难以抗拒,这些表达增加了文章的生动性。
四、学衔接过渡
课文第二段先介绍了这道菜的口感,接着用表示递进关系的What's more强调了该菜式制作简单,以此加深读者对尝试该菜谱的兴趣。同时,第三段开头使用了表示因果关系的连词so进行总结,并作出推荐。整篇文章行文自然流畅,无堆砌之感。

2.Steamed pork with rice flour
Steamed pork with rice flour (Fen Zheng Rou) is a popular Chinese dish, especially in the Jiangnan region. This dish is simple but clever. During steaming, the meat becomes juicy, while the rice flour absorbs the meat's flavors and turns slightly sticky. This dish tastes fresh, soft and not greasy.
粉蒸肉是一道受欢迎的中国菜肴,尤其在江南地区。这道菜看似简单却很巧妙——蒸制过程中,鲜肉出汁,而米粉吸收肉味变得黏糯。这道菜口感清新松软且不油腻。
(二)制作过程
1.How to make jiaozi (Chinese dumplings)
Firstly, mix flour and water to make a soft dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes. Then make the filling. You should cut the meat (pork) into tiny pieces, add salt, oil, soy sauce and Chinese cabbage if you like. Mix them thoroughly. Thirdly, divide the dough into small pieces. Flatten each piece into a thin pancake.Fourthly, put a spoon of filling in the center. Fold it and press the edges. And at last boil the dumplings in boiling water until they float (about 6—8 minutes).

2.How to make sausages at home
(1)Prepare the meat. Choose fresh meat (pork) and cut it into small pieces.
(2)Mix flavors. Add salt, pepper, garlic and a little sugar or wine. Mix everything with the meat.
(3)Stuff the sausages.Fill the casings with the meat mixture and tie the ends with thread.
(4)Air-dry. Hang the finished sausages in a cool, dry place for a few days to dry.
家庭自制香肠
(1)备肉料
选用新鲜猪肉切成小肉丁。
(2)调味
加入盐、胡椒、蒜末及少许糖或料酒,与肉充分拌匀。
(3) 灌制香肠
将调好的肉馅灌入肠衣,两端用棉线扎紧。
(4) 风干
将香肠悬挂于阴凉通风处晾干数日即可。
