For years, I suffered from self-doubt. It was always there, even in moments of success or after a kind word from a friend. It started after the doctors said I had autism(孤独症), and autism wasn’t widely understood back then. My teachers apparently didn’t get me. My classmates always laughed at me. Through those years, I never wanted to acknowledge that I was autistic. I tried to hide it. But hiding it only made the self-doubt stronger.
During middle school, I had surgery on my back. I didn’t pass many exams and kept failing the SATs. But something deep inside me told me, “Keep going.” So I did. After three tries, I finally passed. That was when I started writing.
At first, it was just a way to get the thoughts out of my head. My voice had been quiet for so long, but now, on paper, it was gradually starting to come through. I put my writing into a book and managed to get it published, though the process was mostly filled with difficulties. People responded in ways I never expected. Some told me my words helped them feel less unnoticed. Others said they finally felt comforted, opening up about their own struggles. Parents reached me to say they had hope again—hope that their child would be okay.
I’ve since spoken at meetings and connected with people who once felt unseen by others. What matters most isn’t the achievement, but knowing that somewhere, someone, who feels like I once did, might hear my story and think, “Maybe I can do that too.”
There’s one moment I’ll never forget. Once, after I shared my story at a graduation ceremony, a girl suddenly appeared and began to sing a beautiful song about wishing parents to get closer to their kids and help them. I was so touched. And once again, I was reminded that the voice I once tried to hide had helped someone else find theirs.

Part 2 Learning About Language &
Using Language
根据前文“The following day”“joined”和“was”可知,句子描述的是过去发生的事情,应用一般过去时,flow的过去式为flowed。
5.conclusion/conclusions 考查名词。句中“to what (conclude) I came”的正常语序为“I came to what (conclude) ”,come to a conclusion/conclusions意为“得出结论”,为固定搭配,what后可接可数名词单数或复数,故填conclusion或conclusions。
until引导时间状语从句,until后的Wrangell-Saint Elias in southern Alaska为从句的主语,后面的took为从句的谓语,主语和谓语之间的部分“ became a national monument in 1978”缺少主语,且前面有逗号,所以设空处引导非限制性定语从句,先行词为Wrangell-Saint Elias(指物),故此处用引导词which。

故选A。
根据第三段中的“At first, it was just a way to get the thoughts out of my head...it was gradually starting to come through.” 故选A。
根据“I was so touched. And once again, I was reminded that the voice I once tried to hide had helped someone else find theirs.”
结合最后一段中的“the voice I once tried to hide had helped someone else find theirs”可知,D项“一个人的经历可以照亮另一个人的道路”是作者想要传达的信息。
2.A 主旨句。 故选A。
1.B A.让位;B. 根据“We celebrate successful people around us”可知,此处指成功人士区别于他人的特质,“脱颖而出”符合语境。故选B。
2.A A.失败;B.停止;C.改变;D. 根据第三段中的“The courage to fail means moving forward...” 故选A。
3.C A.合法的;B.
4.A A.成就;B. 故选A。
5.D A.关键地;B.
6.B A.考虑;B.避免;C.后悔;D. 根据后文“as a consequence of fearing defeat”可知,这里指因害怕失败而“避免”开始,符合“不敢尝试”的语境。故选B。
7.D A.快速地;B.
8.B A.期待;B.保证;C.评估;D.认可。根据“The courage to fail means moving forward even when success isn’t...”
9.A A.克服;B. “overcoming the fear of failure”与前文的“fearing defeat”形成呼应。故选A。
10.D A.拒绝;B.
A.理由;B.经验;C.可能性;D.权利。故选C。
12.A A.追求;B.分享;C.欣赏;D.判断。根据下文的“starting a business, applying for a job, or writing a book”可知,此处指的是“你还没追求的目标”。故选A。
13.B A.至于;B. 空后的“What if I fail?”和“How can I succeed?”
14.C A.检查;B. 前文的“Instead of asking, ‘What if I fail?’, ask ‘How can I succeed?’”
15.D A.危险;B.
