Period 2 Using language 动词不定式、动词-ing形式和动词-ed形式作表语 要义详析 探究语法 一、动词不定式作表语 感知经典 (1)(教材P50)Every artist's wish is to create something that expresses an idea. 每位艺术家的愿望都是创作出表达思想的作品。 (2)(教材P51)To listen to Tan's music is to experience a mix of Chinese musical traditions and Western influences. 聆听谭盾的音乐,就是体验中国音乐传统和西方影响因素的融合。 (3)(北师大选必一U2) What I want is to live simply and be helpful to others. 我想要简单地生活并能帮助别人。 (4)The new technology is to bring about great changes to human life. 新技术注定会给人类生活带来巨大的变化。 (5)All (that)we need to do is (to) live each day with passion. 我们所需要做的就是充满激情地度过每一天。 明晰规则 1.动词不定式作表语往往表示具体的、一次性的、将要发生的动作。其主语常常是wish、idea、task、purpose、duty、job、goal、aim、way等表示意向、打算、计划的词及what引导的主语从句等。 2.动词不定式作表语也常表示预定要发生的动作,或表示未来的可能性或假设。 3.动词不定式作表语时,一般情况下不定式中的to不能省略,但当主语部分含有从句,且从句谓语部分有实义动词do的某种形式时,作表语的不定式常省略to。 二、动词-ing形式作表语 感知经典 (1)(教材P51)One way for him to find inspiration is turning to his children's toys. 他的灵感来源之一就是他的孩子们的玩具。 (2)(人教选必一U4)The crucial thing is using body language in a way that is appropriate to the culture you are in. 关键是要以一种适合你所处文化的方式来使用肢体语言。 (3)(北师大选必一U1) What is really worrying is that no one I know, including myself, could go cold turkey. 真正令人担心的是,我认识的每个人,包括我自己,都不能戒掉(互联网)。 明晰规则 动词-ing形式分为动名词和现在分词两类。动名词可在句中充当主语、宾语、表语和定语;现在分词可在句中充当定语、表语、宾语补足语和状语。 1.动名词作表语,用来说明主语的内容,且主语和表语可以互换位置。 2.现在分词作表语,表示主语的某种性质或状态。 三、动词-ed形式作表语 感知经典 (1)(教材P51)He was particularly interested in the old story about a fish jumping through the “Dragon Gate”. 他对鲤鱼跃龙门的古老故事尤为感兴趣。 (2)(人教必修一U1) I'm a bit worried about keeping up with the other students in my advanced course, and it'll be quite difficult to get used to all the homework. 我有点担心在高级课程上无法跟上其他同学,而且很难适应所有的家庭作业。 (3)To my sadness, my favorite cup was broken. 令我悲伤的是,我最喜欢的杯子坏了。 (4)To my sadness, my favorite cup was broken by Lucy. 令我悲伤的是,我最喜欢的杯子被露西打碎了。 明晰规则 1.动词-ed形式可放在系动词be、feel、remain、seem、look、become等之后作表语,往往表示主语所处的状态或状况。作表语的动词-ed形式可用very、quite、much 等修饰。 2.动词-ed形式作表语意为“感到……的”,多用来指人、人的声音或表情等;现在分词作表语意为“令人……的”,多用来修饰物。常见的这类词有amazed/amazing、amused/amusing、 astonished/astonishing、bored/boring、exhausted/exhausting等。 3.动词-ed形式作表语和动词的被动语态的区别:动词-ed形式作表语表示的是一种状态或特征,而被动语态表示的是一个动作,被动意味很强。 课堂微练 即时检验 Ⅰ.单句语法填空 1.The process can be very _ _ _ _ _ _ (bore).Only when practising basic movements again and again can one finally reach the standard.
