B One morning at school, my classmate Sherry looked at me and asked, “Why are you wearing your red dress today? Why aren’t you wearing the blue one? Today is a blue-dress day.” Her question made me feel uncomfortable. I only had two dresses. One was red and the other was blue. In the 1960s, girls had to wear dresses to school. And I wore the two dresses in turn. That day, my blue dress was washed but not dry yet. I didn’t know that other kids had noticed. Embarrassed, I said, “Oh...I spilled (洒出) some coffee on the blue one this morning.” Sherry wasn’t unkind, but her question made me wonder, “Am I poor?” After school, I changed into my play clothes and sat in the tree outside our house. Our house was white and small, but it was bigger than any other place we had lived before. Mom bought it after Dad passed away suddenly. My friends lived in big houses with pretty bedrooms. But strangely, they liked coming to my house best. I guessed it was because they liked my mother. Mom would make chocolate cakes. After dinner, she’d play board games with us around the kitchen table and sing songs with us. As for my friends’ parents, they were nice, but they didn’t spend time with us like Mom did. That evening, as Mom prepared dinner, I finally asked, “Are we poor?” She smiled softly. “We don’t have extras, but we can get by. We have a warm house, clothes to wear, and good food. Look! We won’t be hungry tonight.” I looked at the fried chicken, the sandwiches and the fresh vegetables on the table. Suddenly, I felt rich in a way that really mattered. 4. Why did the author wear the red dress that day? A. It was her favorite dress. B. Her blue dress was still wet. C. Sherry asked her to wear it. D. It was a red-dress day at school. 5. What can we learn about the author’s mother? A. She was kind and loving. B. She was always busy with work. C. She liked playing board games before dinner. D. She often bought chocolate cakes for the kids. 6. What does the underlined part “get by” in paragraph 6 mean? A. Become very rich. B. Ask others for help. C. Manage to live without much. D. Live a comfortable life without worries. 7. What is the author trying to tell us through her story? A. Friends bring happiness. B. Hard times help us grow. C. Avoid comparing with others. D. Being rich means having love and joy. C In the U. S., people eat more protein than they need to, which might not be bad for human health, but does pose a problem for the country’s waterways. The nations wastewater is loaded with the leftovers from protein digestion: nitrogen compounds (氯化化合物) that can feed harmful algal blooms (藻华) and pollute the air and drinking water. Maya Almaraz, a biogeochemist at the University of California, Davis, and her team wanted to see how much of this nitrogen entered into the U. S. wastewater system because of a protein-heavy diet. The researchers found that the majority of nitrogen pollution present in wastewater— some 67 to 100 percent — is a by-product of water people consume. Once it enters the environment, the nitrogen can have a series of ecological impacts. It helps algae grow much faster than they would normally, which is harmful to humans, other animals and plants. And when the algae eventually die, the problem is not over. Microorganisms (微生物) that feed on dead algae use up the oxygen in the water, leading to “dead zones,” where many species simply cannot survive, in rivers, lakes and oceans. Although it is possible to treat algal blooms, many of the current methods are not always effective at getting rid of all of the harmful growth. Some of these methods can even lead to additional pollution. So the best strategy for dealing with the effects of nitrogen pollution is prevention, says Patricia Glibert, an ocean scientist at the University of Maryland. Almaraz and her team suggest that controlling nitrogen pollution could be approached more quickly with a change in eating habits that could save billions of dollars in the long term. 8. Which aspect of Americans’ diet does Almaraz’s research focus on? A. Its variety. B. Its effect. C. Its make- up. D. Its concept. 9. What causes “dead zones” in the water? A. No oxygen for many species. B. Death of lots of healthy algae. C. Microorganisms’ overconsumption of nutrients. D. Poisonous chemicals released by harmful algae. 10. What is the problem with current algal bloom treatment methods? A. They are costly. B. They may kill all algae. C. They are slow to take effect. D. They may cause secondary pollution. 11. What does the text mainly tell us? A. It is high time to treat wild algae growth. B. Eating too much protein harms the planet. C. Prevention is better than cure in treating air pollution. D. Researchers find solutions to the wastewater problem. D A vast majority of people usually argue that cycling can make a significant contribution to our world. In reality, there is a gap between desired and actual numbers. In Germany, for instance, only 20% of the everyday short-distance trips are covered by bicycle. When enquiring about the causes, researchers found one point repeatedly tops the list: the perceived or potential risk on the bike routes used. Increasing the share of cycling trips thus depends crucially on well-developed bike paths. However, designing efficient bike path networks is a complex task that involves balancing a variety of limitations while meeting overall demand. In addition, many districts are confronted with a shortage of funds available for improving the infrastructure. Researchers propose a new approach to generating efficient bike path networks. This considers demand distribution and the route option of cyclists based on preferences for secure outings. Typically, minimizing the travel distance is far from the solely goal. Aspects such as attractiveness of a route are also taken into account. Under real conditions, a bike path network is created by constantly adding bike paths to more streets. This time, researchers start with an ideal, complex network, in which all streets in a city are equipped with a bike path. In a virtual process, they gradually remove less used bike path sections from this network. The route selection of cyclists is continuously updated. Thus, a series of bike path networks is created and is always adapted to the current usage. Each stage of it corresponds to a variant that could be carried out with less financial support. “We illustrate the applicability of this demand-driven planning for crowded urban areas of Dresden and Hamburg,” explains researcher Christoph Steinacker. “We are approaching a real-life issue here using the theoretic toolbox of network dynamics and compare efficient bike path networks under different conditions.” 12. Why do people rarely cycle? A. They think of cycling as inefficient. B. They usually take long-distance trips. C. They’re concerned about the security. D. They’re unable to find special bike roads. 13. What is a challenge for good bike path networks? A. Tight budgets. B. Complex routes. C. Maximized travel distance. D. Decreasing cycling demand. 14. What can be learned about the planning put forward by researchers? A. It will be updated once in a while. B. It is contrary to the real-life design. C. It ensures every street has a bike path. D. It serves as a model for other districts. 15. Which of the following is the best title for the text? A. Good Planning Gets the Bike Rolling B. A good Network Benefits More People C. Cycling Paths Change Crowded Urban Areas D. With so many distractions around, like phones and noise, it’s easy to lose concentration. ____16____ Here are some simple tips that can help you focus better and make your study time more effective. First, find a quiet and comfortable place to study. It could be a desk in your room, a library, or any place where you won’t be easily interrupted. ____17____ This means turning off the TV and putting your phone on silent mode or in another room. When you remove these distractions, your brain can pay full attention to your work. ____18____ Trying to study for hours without a break can actually make you tired and less productive. A good method is the “Pomodoro Technique”. You study for 25 minutes, and then you take a short 5-minute break. After four such sessions, you can take a longer break of 15 — 20 minutes. During your break, you can stretch, get a drink, or just relax. Another helpful way is to set clear goals for each study session. Instead of just saying “I will study math,” tell yourself “I will finish these 10 math problems.” ____19____ It feels great to see what you have achieved, and this will keep you motivated. Finally, make sure you get enough sleep and eat healthy food. Your brain is like an engine; it needs good fuel to run properly. If you are tired or hungry, it is much harder to concentrate. ____20____ By taking care of your body, you are also preparing your mind for successful studying. Remember, improving your focus takes time and practice. Start with one or two of these tips, and you will slowly see a difference. A. This will help you stay focused on your task. B. However, there are ways to solve this problem. C. Listening to music can help some people concentrate. D. It is also important to take regular breaks while studying. E. A healthy body and mind are the basics of good concentration. F. You should also avoid things that might take your attention away. G. Having a goal makes your study more purposeful and manageable. Hundreds of seniors across the mid-island region in British Columbia will receive a handwritten Christmas card this year — a small gesture that has grown into a powerful ____21____, thanks to the compassion of one woman and an arm of volunteers. At an early age, she was crazy about singing. Whenever she had a chance, she would sing to her heart’s content. Her sweet and charming voice tended to get people around attracted to her songs. Living in a small city, I took several odd jobs, determined to do everything in my power to support her. Soon after Jane attended school, her music teacher Mary noticed her talent by chance and volunteered to give her some guidance on how to sing. Jane practiced so hard that before long she made great progress in singing. Unfortunately, one noon a year later, Jane was crossing the street when a careless driver knocked her down. She was rushed to hospital. When I hurried there, the doctor told me that my daughter would probably not stand on her own feet. I froze with shock, feeling as if I had been thrown into a dark world. Weak and dizzy, I was about to fall to the ground when someone took hold of me. It was Mary, who got the news and raced here. She comforted me, saying firmly, “Grace, Jane needs you. You must stay calm and strong.” I nodded. Having calmed down, I entered the ward with Mary. That night, Jane recovered her consciousness (知觉) and opened her eyes. Holding her hand, I said, “My dear, everything would be fine.” Mary comforted her gently, “I know you are a strong girl, Jane. Don’t worry. We’ll be standing by you.” I was heartbroken to see tears streaming down Jane’s cheeks. After two months, we returned home from hospital. Her teachers and friends frequently visited her. Jane eventually accepted the fact that she would have to get around in a wheelchair. Never did she refer to the subject of singing again. I knew she was a nice and understanding girl, who was afraid that talking about her original dream would upset the two of us. One day, however, Mary came with good news. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When the host announced it was Jane’s turn, she was wheeled onto the stage. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026年3月高一年级月考英语试题 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5 小题;每小题 1.5 分,满分7.5 分) 听下面 5 段对话,选出最佳选项。 1. I guessed it was because they liked my mother. Mom would make chocolate cakes. After dinner, she'd play board games with us around the kitchen table and sing songs with us. As for my friends’ parents, they were nice, but they didn’t spend time with us like Mom did. 故选A项。 根据第六段“We don’t have extras, but we can get by. After dinner, she'd play board games with us around the kitchen table and sing songs with us. As for my friends’ parents, they were nice, but they didn’t spend time with us like Mom did. 和最后一段“Suddenly, I felt rich in a way that really mattered. 8. B 9. A 10. D 11. Some of these methods can even lead to additional pollution.(尽管治理藻华是可行的,但目前的许多方法并不总能有效清除所有有害藻类。 通读全文,尤其是第一段中的“In the U.S., people eat more protein than they need to, which might not be bad for human health, but does pose a problem for the country’s waterways.(在美国,人们摄入的蛋白质超过了身体所需,这对人类健康或许没有坏处,但确实给该国的水道带来了问题。)” D A vast majority of people usually argue that cycling can make a significant contribution to our world. A New Concept Contributes to a Better World 【答案】12. C 13. A 14. B 15. E. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 One day, however, Mary came with good news. She told Jane the school music festival was to be held the next month and that her classmates all expected her to sing on behalf of her class. Jane’s eyes sparkled but responded doubtfully, “Can I...?” Mary and I immediately assured her that she could make it. In the following month, with the help of Mary, Jane kept on practicing singing. Beautiful songs echoed in our house again and smiles began to appear on her face. Finally the big day came when she could present herself. When the host announced it was Jane’s turn, she was wheeled onto the stage. Jane was greeted with warm applause. As she began to sing, the audience got absorbed in her beautiful voice. Seconds after her performance, all the audience rose with thunderous cheers. When wheeled off stage, Jane received praise and bunches of flowers from her teachers and classmates. Jane was moved to tears. The kindness and encouragement from her teachers and classmates stimulated Jane’s enthusiasm for life, making her regain confidence in pursuing her original dream, which I will support wholeheartedly. 词汇激活 行为类 ①希望:expect/hope/wish ②回答:respond/reply/answer ③保证:assure/guarantee/ensure 情绪类 ①眼睛闪闪发光:eyes sparkle/eyes glitter ②感动:move/touch 【点睛】[高分句型1]As she began to sing, the audience got absorbed in her beautiful voice.(由连接词as引导时间状语从句) [高分句型2]The kindness and encouragement from her teachers and classmates stimulated Jane’s enthusiasm for life, making her regain confidence in pursuing her original dream, which I will support wholeheartedly.(由关系代词which引导非限制性定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
