Ⅰ.阅读理解
A
I was recently presented with a “great” professional opportunity that seemed appealing to everyone in my field. There was one problem, however: I didn't want it. When I was originally offered the position, I responded with a “yes” immediately. It was a “nobrainer”. “Wow” was the only response I received when mentioning it to others.
As I began preparing for the new job, I felt a heavy weight in my chest and became tearyeyed for no apparent reason. Concerned, I reached out to the program director and explained my situation. She did what all good program directors do and listed the position's incredible bonuses, the convenient schedule and reasons why countless teachers would want this position. She also made the case for why this experience would provide exactly the recharge and restoration I needed. Her enthusiasm was infectious(有感染力的), and I found myself slipping back into the “should” mode, convincing myself that declining would be foolish. The familiar internal dialogue of “I should, I should, I should ...” reverberated (回响), leaving me feeling trapped.
But then I realized I needed to make a change. Instead of focusing on how great this opportunity seemed for others, I asked myself if it was right for me. That simple change paved the way for freedom and clarity. By acknowledging my own feelings and experiences, rather than external expectations, I was able to reconnect with my true self. The truth was that I wished I wanted this opportunity; if that were true, it would make my life a whole lot easier in many ways. And yet, it was not what in reality I wanted at this moment.
We are often conditioned to seek what we are taught to want and prioritize external guidelines for what should make us happy. However, these external constructs of fulfillment are not the same as what you do want and what does make you happy. Discovering your own desires is an internal process that only you have access to. Trusting your own wanting is the path back to your true self, your power and your wisdom, which ultimately leads to genuine happiness.

If we look around us at the things we have purchased at some point in our lives, we would no doubt notice that not everything we own is being put to good use: the thick woolen coat which we thought looked trendy despite the fact that we live in a tropical country, the smartphone that got put away when we bought ourselves the newest model, or even the guest room in our house that somehow got turned into a storeroom.
Those underutilized (未充分使用的) items may seem useless to some, but could be of value to others. With the advent of the Internet, online communities have figured out a way to generate profit from the sharing of those underused property.Using websites and social media groups that facilitate the buying and selling of secondhand goods, it is now easier than ever for peertopeer sharing activities to take place. And this is known as the sharing economy.
These popular online platforms are providing a chance for people to make a quick fortune. To give an example, busy parents previously might not have bothered with setting up a stall at the local market to sell their children's old equipment, but with online marketplaces, parents are now able to sell on those hardly worn baby clothes that their children have outgrown so as to put some cash back into their pockets.
Businesses have also caught on to the profitability of the sharing economy and are seeking to gain from making use of those underutilized resources. Some companies act as a middleman for people to cash in on their unused rooms and houses and let them out as profitable accommodation.Another company encourages people to use their own personal cars as taxis to make some extra cash in their free time.
This move towards a sharing economy is not without criticisms.Unlike businesses, unregulated individuals do not have to follow certain regulations and this can lead to poorer and inconsistent quality of goods and services and a higher risk of fraud.Nevertheless, in the consumerist society we live in today, the increased opportunities to sell on our unwanted and underused goods can lead to a lesser impact on our environment.

A.what they sell might be of a lower quality
