Forms of subject clause
That light travels faster than sound in the air is true.
That you didn’t attend that lecture yesterday is none of my business.
It is obvious that Tom looks happy today.
It is reported that the experiment was a success.
(1)It be+形容词+that从句
常见形容词:necessary, right, likely, unlikely, certain, clear, obvious, strange, possible等
注意:
在“It is necessary/important/ strange/natural…+that 从句”中,从句谓语常用“should+动词原形”结构,其中should可以省略
It is important and necessary that one (should) master the skills of operating computers.
(2)It be+名词+that从句
It is a pity that you didn’t go with us.
a pity一会, a shame遗憾、耻辱, good news好消息, a fact事实, a wonder奇迹, no wonder难怪, no surprise不奇怪
(3)It be+过去分词+that从句
It is said that the ugly duckling turned out to be a swan.
It is said that 据说 it is heard that 听说 it is reported that 据报道
It is thought that 有人认为 it is announced that 据宣布
it is believed that有人认为
在It is suggested/ advised/ ordered/ requested/ insisted/ required/ decided..that从句中,谓语动词用(should)+动词原形
(4)It +特定动词+that从句
It seems to me that you object to the plan.
It happened that she was out when I visited.

It really matters that she hasn’t turned up.
Whether we will attend the lecture has not been decided yet.
It makes no difference to me whether it rains or not.
It makes no difference to me if it rains or not.
3.wh-word

Whose handwriting this is has not been identified.

Ma Xu, who is widely recognized as China’s first female paratrooper, is a figure whose life story continues to inspire many. What impresses me most are her courage, skill, and determination. Whether she could succeed as a paratrooper was questioned by many at the time. What she did next was learn parachuting in secret through hard training until she could jump as well as any other candidate. It was her perseverance that finally led to the success of her application. Over a period of 20 years, she completed more than 140 parachute jumps, which remains the highest number for any female paratrooper. She also set a national record as the oldest enlisted woman to perform a parachute jump at age 51. In 2018, Ma Xu donated her entire life savings to her hometown in Mulan County, a gift that was intended to support local education and public welfare.
