E 37. G 38. A 39. B 40. F
上文“Simple things first: It’s important to get started with the task you’re willing to perform in order to fight laziness.(先从简单的事情做起:为了克服懒惰,从你愿意做的任务开始是很重要的)”说明为了克服懒惰,从愿意做的简单任务开始很重要。 E选项中的“do so”与上文中的“get started with the task you’re willing to perform”相呼应。
G选项中的“Breaking down tasks into smaller tasks”与“Step-by-step”相呼应。故选G。
上文“Remove distractions: Whatever it is that distracts you (TV, the Internet, etc.), remove it(消除干扰:无论是什么让你分心(电视、互联网等),都把它移除)”说明要消除干扰。 A选项中的“Turn off distractions”与上文中的“remove it”相呼应。故选A。
上文“Reward yourself: Every time you manage to overcome laziness and successfully complete a task, you should reward yourself, as this will give you positive feeling about making efforts to get things done.(奖励自己:每次你成功克服懒惰并完成任务时,都应该奖励自己,因为这会让你对努力完成任务产生积极的感觉)”说明每次成功克服懒惰并完成任务时,都应该奖励自己。 B选项中的“the reward”和“the efforts”与上文中的“reward yourself”和“making efforts”相呼应。故选B。
上文“Don’t give up. It’s one thing to find your motivation.(不要放弃。找到动力是一回事)”说明不要放弃,找到动力是一回事。空处和前文为转折关系,需对比“找到动力”与“维持动力”的不同。所以F项“但是当遇到困难问题时,保持动力就是另一回事了。”符合语境。F选项中的it指代前文的motivation,且与前文形成转折关系。故选F。

【参考范文】
【答案】One possible version:
Dear Chris,
Happy to hear from you.
One big challenge I’ve faced in senior high is managing stress from heavy schoolwork. At first, I felt overwhelmed and often stayed up late studying, which made me tired and less focused.
To deal with it, I started using a planner to organize my tasks and set small, achievable goals each day. I also began doing light exercise, like walking after school, which helped clear my mind. Most importantly, I learned to take short breaks and talk to friends when feeling stressed. These changes have made a big difference.
How about you? Have you ever faced something similar? I’d love to know how you handle stress!
Yours,
Li Hua

Over the next few days, I divided my time between prospecting and trying to win the wolf’s trust. Each day, I brought her fresh meat, speaking softly as I approached. At first, she’d growl and bare her teeth, but gradually her posture relaxed. I noticed her watching me as I worked on patching my tent or cleaning my gear. One morning, I saw her nudge a pup toward me, which revealed a flicker of curiosity in her eyes. I held my breath, extending a piece of rabbit meat. She hesitated, then sniffed my hand, her warm breath brushing my skin.
But she walked towards me with difficulty. Her injured leg dragged slightly, but her gaze was steady. I knelt slowly, showing no threat. To my astonishment, she lowered herself beside me, even allowing me to touch her matted fur. Gently, I examined her trap wound — it was inflamed but not infected. I tore a strip from my shirt to clean the injury, and she didn’t flinch. As the pups tumbled around us, she rested her head on my knee, a silent pact forming. When it was time to leave, she followed me to the forest’s edge, her howl echoing as I disappeared into the trees — a farewell, not a threat.

Local officials in Beijing promised to further protect the city's cultural heritage,in particular the narrow
streets known as Hutongs.
Hutongs are commonly found in the cities of North China, but they are at risk.Beijing is currently
believed to have fewer than 1,000 Hutongs, most of which are near the Forbidden City.Only 60 years ago,the
number was 3,250.In the old districts of Dongcheng and Xicheng, some people will be asked to move from
Hutong houses to avoid further damage to the ancient architecture.
"On average more than 100,000 people visit the Forbidden City during the National Day holidays. The
visits put pressure on the protection of cultural relics,"said the director of the Beijing Municipal Commission
of Urban Planning, adding that Hutongs should be protected from human damage.
The government focused on how the protection plans were carried out and how the management of
cultural heritage worked. The head of the Xicheng district government said the area has about 182 cultural
relics, many of which were built as far back as the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368)."The most efficient way is
to decrease the local population to reduce the possibility of causing harm to the heritage.
"Each community has been required to report the status of its cultural heritage, especially Hutongs, and
any action to damage the heritage will be punished."
No one knows for sure how many Hutongs will be left in the coming 100 years.
28.How many Hutongs have disappeared in the past sixty years in Beijing?

In 2012,James Cameron, creator of Avatar and Titanic, became the first person to reach the Challenger
Deep. When he arrived at the deepest spot on Earth at 7 miles below sea level,he spent hours mapping the
region and taking photos and samples.
"As human beings,we're drawn to absolutesthe deepest,the highest,the coldest,the farthest,"he
says."And as a storyteller and curious monkey,I just wanted to see what was there."The answer is
obvious-plastic and more."Our so-called civilization is using the ocean as its toilet,"Cameron says."Unless
this changes, ocean ecosystems are going to continue their rapid collapse."
Despite decades of environmental studies, the impact of plastic and other forms of pollution on oceans
are not entirely understood.Initial studies appear to indicate that ingesting()them-either directly or
indirectly-could cause disease.Plastics can also release poisonous substances into the water, which could
potentially impact animal populations.
But plastic is just one of the problems facing oceans that have yet to be fully understood."Plastic waste
in the ocean is horrifying but is only the most obvious of our many deadly waste streams, which include
carbon that's heating the atmosphere and making the ocean acidic, and the run-off nutrients from all the
world's agriculture, which is causing anoxic()dead zones the size of countries,"Cameron says.
Oceans, like the rest of the world, are impacted by the burning of fossil fuels and the release of
greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide-about 30 percent of which is absorbed by the sea. This absorption
causes ocean acidification, where the pH level is altered to become more acidic. As a result,it's harder for
some creatures to form shells and skeletons and countless species at the base of the food web can struggle to
survive, which, scientists say,has the potential to cause huge disruptions to entire ecosystems.Indeed, ocean
acidification is thought to have played an important role in Earth's worst-ever mass extinction event 252
million years ago.
The effect of climate change on the world's oceans will likely worsen in coming decades.Last June,
scientists announced carbon dioxide levels had reached the highest levels since human records began. The last
time carbon dioxide levels were this high was during the Pliocene era, between 3 and 5 million years ago,
when global temperatures were about 4 degrees Celsius warmer than they are today.Current climate models
suggest that if greenhouse gas emissions continue on their current trend,we may be on course to see 4 degrees
of warming by 2100.
As a result, understanding the role oceans have on global systems is becoming more and more
important.
32.What are the first two paragraphs mainly about?
A.The author's feelings to the ocean.

One spring morning many years ago,I was prospecting (for gold in southeastemn Alaska, and as I
came out of a forest of trees,I was shocked. No more than 20 paces away in the bog was a huge
Alaskan wolf-caught in a trap.
When I came near,it stepped back,struggling in the trap.Then I noticed something else:Her teats()
were full of milk.Somewhere there were hungry pups()waiting for their mother, surely no more than a
few miles away. But I guessed ifI tried to set the wolf free, she would try to tear me to pieces.
So I decided to search for her pups instead and began to look for incoming tracks that might lead me to
her home. After several minutes,I noticed them on a path near the bog.
The tracks led a half mile through the forest, and then up a slope ()I finally found her home at the
base of a big tree.I began copying the cry of a mother wolf calling her young.A few moments later, four tiny
pups appeared. One by one,I placed them in a bag and headed back down the slope.
When the mother wolf noticed me,she made a threatening sound.I set the pups free, and they raced to
her.Within seconds, they were taking milk from their mother.
What next?I wondered. The mother wolf was clearly suffering from her injured leg.Yet each time I
moved in her direction, she made a low sound. But she needed food.I hiked towards the forest and found a
dead deer.I cut off the leg of it and brought it back.I threw the meat to her.She smelled it and then ate it up.
I made a shelter for myself and was soon asleep nearby. As it grew dark,I was awakened by the sound
of the pups nursing.I looked towards the angry mother wolf.If I could only win her trust,I thought,it was her
only hope.
