教学设计 课程基本信息 学科 英语 年级 八年级 学期 春季 课题 Unit 4 A good read (Reading I) 教科书 书 名:《义务教育教科书·英语》八年级下册 出版社:译林出版社 出版日期:2025 年 12 月 教学目标 1. 获取和梳理格列佛意外来到小人国的起因和经历等信息,理解语篇的结构化知识。 2. 引导学生内化与故事情节发展有关的语言表达,并运用所学语言转述续说格列佛到小人国的经历。 3. 引导学生联系个人实际,在新的语境中创造性地解决问题,加深对主题意义的理解。 教学内容 教学重点: 1. 引导学生通过略读和扫读等阅读策略,理解故事的主要内容和事件发展顺序。 2. 引导学生内化与故事情节发展有关的语言表达,并运用所学语言转述续说格列佛到小人国的经历。 教学难点: 鼓励学生运用目标语言流畅地复述故事并表达个人观点。 教学过程 Step 1. Lead-in Introduce the novel called Gulliver’s Travels, by Jonathan Swift. Step 2. Pre-reading Have students look at the picture on page 51 and answer the two questions on page 50 before reading. 1. What do you think the story is about from the picture? 2. Do you like to read this kind of story? Why or why not? Step 3. While-reading 1. Have students read the title, scan the story and finish the table about the story. 2. Have students read the story and fill in the blanks (structure). 3. Have students read paragraph 1-2 and answer the following questions. (1) Did Gulliver know where he was when he woke up? (2) How did Gulliver end up on the grass? (3) Why couldn’t he move? 4. Have students read paragraphs 3-5 and complete the table about what Gulliver did to help himself out and what the tiny men did to Gulliver. 5. Have students read the story again and put sentences in the correct order (Part A on page 52). 6. Have students read the story again and answer the following questions (Part B on page 52). (1) When did Gulliver wake up? (2) Which parts of Gulliver’s body were tied to the ground? (3) Gulliver saw a small man. Where was the man? How big was he? (4) How do you think Gulliver felt when he saw the small man? (5) Why did the small men begin to shout? (6) What do you think of Gulliver? 7. Have students retell the story of “Gulliver in Lilliput” according to the following chart. Step 4. Post-reading Have students finish Part C on page 53. Step 5. Further thinking Have students answer questions in Part D on page 53. (1) Do you think Gulliver could get away from the tiny men? Why or why not? (2) Suppose the same thing happened to you. What would you do? (3) How would you feel in this situation: surprised, scared or curious? Give your reasons. Step 6.
