Have you ever received help from someone that made you feel really grateful? Who was it and what did they do?
Warming Up
Class, when we receive help from others, what do we usually say to express our feelings at that moment?

What are the differences between writing down thanks and saying thank you out loud?
More formal and serious: Writing things down shows that you have thought carefully and are being sincere.
Long-lasting and can be kept: The other person can read it again and remember your feelings anytime.
Sometimes easier to express: Some things that are hard to say in person can be easier to write down.
Sometimes we want to say thank you, but we don’t know what to say. Don't worry! Let’s look at how Kelly expressed her gratitude.
