When Anne woke up the next morning, she could not remember where she was. Then, she remembered. This was Green Gables and they didn’t want her because she wasn’t a boy! She looked out of the window. It was such a beautiful place. She wished they would not send her away.
During the drive back to the station, Marilla said, “It’s five miles, and since you enjoy talking so much, you can tell me what you know about yourself.” “I was eleven last March”, said Anne.“And I was born in Bolingbroke, Nova Scotia. My father and mother were teachers. They were very poor and lived in a small yellow house in Bolingbroke. My mother died from a fever soon after I was born, and my father died four days later from a fever, too.”
“I lived with some people called Thomas until I was eight years old and helped look after their other children. Then, Mr Thomas was killed when he fell under a train. Then, Mrs Hammond took me, and I lived with her for two years and looked after all her children. Then, she died. Nobody wanted me, so I was put in a children’s home.”
Marilla asked no more questions. She felt sorry for Anne. The child had had a hard life, living with people who did not really want her. She began to think it was a pity the girl had to be sent back to the children’s home.
Marilla thought long and hard about keeping Anne. She knew that her brother wanted to keep her, and she saw that the girl was clever, even if she liked to dream. The next afternoon, Marilla said to the little girl, “Sit down and listen. We have decided that you may stay here. You must go to school when it opens again in September.”
“Oh, thank you,” Anne said happily.
Anne had been at Green Gables a fortnight (两星期) before Mrs Lynde came to see what she was like. “You’re not much to look at,” Mrs Lynde said. “You’re very thin and plain. And your face has freckles and your hair is the colour of carrots.”
“I hate you,” cried Anne. “I hate you! I hate you!” “What a temper!” cried Mrs Lynde.
“Anne, go to your room and stay there until I come up,” said Marilla. Anne ran to her room, crying. Afterward, Marilla went upstairs to talk to Anne.

Should we hand over every job to machines? Should we develop non-human minds that might become more intelligent than humans and finally replace (代替) us? Should we risk losing control of our own future? These questions were asked by many scientists in a science meeting.
In most people’s minds, the rapid development of AI is of great help to humans. For example, AI has helped humans develop new medicines and design new materials to help with climate change.
When ChatGPT was first open to the public, it gained a million users in just one week; with that number quickly growing to 100 million within two months. It was widely used to do things like writing articles and creating speeches.
However, some have started to worry. Will AI go against humans one day? Will AI take our place and all the people lose their jobs? Will bad people use AI to harm others?
These worries make scientists stop developing AI and start to think about better ways to use this technology. Most of them agree that laws should be made to make sure that AI is used safely.
Many governments are already taking action, though differently. For example, the UK, as well as the USA, opens its arms for AI without any rules other than present ones because it regards it as a huge market. But Germany is more careful. It puts uses of AI in different areas into different levels of risk. Uses in some areas are not allowed, and companies that break the rules will be punished (惩罚).
Making laws is the government’s duty. For us common people, it may be more important to think about how we can work more effectively with AI.
42.Why do the UK and the USA open their arms for AI?
A.Because they think AI brings good business.
B.Because they have a large market.
C.Because they have the best AI technology.
D.Because they think AI is safe enough.
43.What can we know from Paragraph 6?
A.The UK and the USA don’t have rules for AI.
B.Different countries deal with AI in different ways.
C.Germany does not allow any use of AI.
D.All countries are still thinking about AI rules.
44.Which of the following statements is TRUE according to the passage?
A.Many governments agreed to stop developing AI.
B.ChatGPT was used by up to 100 million people within two months.
C.The UK and Germany handle AI in the same way.
D.AI can solve major climate change problems.
45.What may the writer talk about next?
A.How will AI develop in the future? B.Why do we need laws for AI use?
C.How can people work together with AI? D.How does AI help solve problems?

31.D 32.D 33.C
【导语】本文是说明文。主要讲述了传统艺术家通过线上表演的新方式,让年轻人对传统文化产生了更浓厚的兴趣。
【详解】
31.词句猜测题。根据第三段“Last year, he had his first online show and more than 1.2 million people watched this show. It is impossible in a theater.”
C选项:“Traditional clothes have been more and more popular these days”是文章第四段的原句,属于文中直接呈现的事实,无需任何推导,不符合“推断”的题型要求,因此排除。故选D。
33.推理判断题。本文围绕传统文化的线上传播展开,属于文化范畴,因此最有可能出自文化杂志。故选C。

I hate you!’ ‘What a temper!’ cried Mrs Lynde...Marilla went upstairs to talk to Anne.”可知,安妮和琳德夫人发生冲突后,玛丽拉让安妮先回房间,之后上楼找安妮谈话(④),因此正确顺序为①③②④。故选B。
41.细节理解题。根据“My mother died from a fever soon after I was born, and my father died four days later from a fever, too.”可知,安妮的父亲在安妮刚出生时就去世了,并非安妮四岁时,D项表述错误。故选D。

【答案】42.A 43.B 44.B 45.C

More importantly, “music is episodic (片段的)”, Professor Robert Cutietta at the University of Southern California said. “If you look at 68 artwork or something, you can look at it and leave at any time. Music is over time.” That means music is 69 (connect) with episodes in your life.
Music from our younger years 70 (create) strong feelings, mixing happy and sad feelings when we listen to it. When the songs are related to your experiences and you listen to them again, memories of those experiences 71 (come) back.
Sometimes, with a change in experience, the 72 (sad) you felt before when listening to a song can later turn into joy. This can explain why listening to something from a harder time in your 73 (young) life can bring a sense of relief now.

And, he was very nervous. He did not like speaking in front of people. But his speech was very important.
Robert gave his speech. He did a good job. But he did not have the chance to hear what other people thought. Later that same day Robert looked into his mail box and found a small note there. The note just said, “You did a great job today, Robert.” Robert was very surprised and happy to see the note. It made him feel very confident. And Robert believes that that small note helped him keep going through the rest of his training. He felt like he was able to do a good job.
