When you picture carrots at the market, you probably think of many orange carrots. Well, here’s news for you-the original (最早的) color of carrots was not orange! Carrots can come in a rainbow (彩虹) of other colors.
The original home of carrots was the dry and hot lands of Iran (伊朗) and Afghanistan (阿富汗) in Central Asia. They then spread to neighboring Arabian, African and Asian lands. People there all accepted carrots soon and started crossbrecding (杂交繁育) and creating new types of this vegetable. Even in those ancient times, many colors of carrots were prosent-purple, yellow, red, black and white, Interestingly, the orange color that we usually see today was not present. In ancient Egypt, plenty of carrots were placed in front of the tombs of pharaohs (法老墓), which could be a telling example of how popular carrots were in ancient times. The most popular colors of carrots in ancient Egypt was purple, and they were used not only for eating but also for medicine.
Our popular orange carrots of today didn’t appear until the 17th century when some Dutch (荷兰) farmers succeeded in growing the first orange ones. As for the orange carrots, there is a story saying that they were planted in honor of William of Orange, who led the Dutch war of independence. Is that true? We truly don’t know. Well, no matter what the fact is, one thing is for sure-the carrots do have a colorful history.

People clearly notice that daytime becomes longer and the weather gets warmer. The following are some things people do to celebrate the coming of spring.

Making Spring Ox (春牛)
This custom in Shaanxi is practiced right before Beginning of Spring. The local government hires some skilled workers and gathers them to build the frame (框架) of an ox out of bamboo strips and the legs with wood. People would do so to welcome spring and hope for a good harvest that year.
People in China began holding a special activity on the day of Beginning of Spring about 3,000 years ago. By the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), greeting spring had become an important folk activity. Since then Beginning of Spring as an important solar term has been passed on.

In our life, we may meet different kinds of challenges. But how can we deal with them to make ourselves better?
Once, one of my biggest challenges was to study well. As we all know, mastering knowledge of all subjects is not an easy task. It means spending plenty of time and energy. What’s more, running a kilometer always made me tired. In order to study well, I often spent much time reviewing my schoolwork. And to deal with P.E. grades, I often kept running around the school. I also did some exercise to make myself powerful. I felt proud after solving them. I’ve learned a lot from it. As far as I’m concerned, never giving up is the best way to make us better.

It may sound unbelievable but the launch event attracted more than 40million views on Xiaomi Auto’s Weibo alone. Even guessing its price level had been a popular topic on China’s social media platforms for weeks.
