After all , something is better than none. 3.In a single forest, a mother tree can   be connected to/with  hundreds of other trees. 4.The airport is within striking distance,  no more than  60 miles to the west. 5. A chain of  events spoiled my plan. 6.Life  consists of  not only sunshine but also storms,so whatever happens, we should adopt a positive attitude.
