On March 3rd, the two took part in the Juste Debout World Finals in Paris and competed in the hip-hop group. They beat two top pairs from other countries and got into the semifinals (半决赛). This marked the best result for a Chinese team in this event, as reported by People’s Daily. Many people watched the video online and liked their dance very much. The blue whale is the largest and heaviest animal living on Earth, known as the “giant of the ocean”. Their weight is amazing, reaching up to 200 tons, which is heavier than that of 30 adult elephants. However, their nice posture (体态) is regarded as one of the most touching scenes in nature and that’s the reason why many people want to see them swimming in the ocean in person.
Blue whales live in all oceans except the Arctic Ocean, and they have unique (独特的) living habits. Although they have a huge appetite (食欲)—one blue whale eats about 4 tons of food every day—their food includes some of the smallest creatures in the ocean. Blue whales can live up to 90 years at most. Throughout their long lives, they always play an important role in making the ecosystem more balanced. When a blue whale dies in the sea, its body becomes a “deep-sea gift”, providing food for many creatures. It can last for more than a year, helping to create a lively and healthy ecosystem.
However, blue whales are facing a serious survival crisis (危机). The rising ocean noise and heavy ship traffic have seriously influenced their communication and food hunting. When blue whales move near the sea surface, they often get hit by large ships. What’s worse, it sometimes eats plastic pieces that are thrown away into the ocean by humans and gets sick. At the same time, climate change reduces their food sources a lot.
Protecting blue whales means protecting our common home. We should take practical actions to build a safe and harmonious world for these amazing animals.
27. What makes many people want to see blue whales swim in person?
A. Their amazing weight. B. Their nice posture. C. Their unique living habits.
28. Why is a dead blue whale called a “deep-sea gift”?
A. Because it has a huge appetite. B. Because it can live up to 90 years. C. Because its body provides food for many sea creatures.

A. Living in most of the world’s oceans.
B. Ocean noise and heavy ship traffic.
C. Fewer food sources because of climate change.
30. What’s the writer’s purpose to write this passage?
A. To introduce the blue whale to us.

How time flies! Looking back at the past two years, I met lots of challenges. I still remember one of the challenges that I faced.
When I entered Grade 9, I couldn’t finish the 1000-meter running test for PE. I was always out of breath halfway and fell far behind others. To solve this problem, I kept practicing running after school every day. I also turned to my PE teacher for help to improve my skills. Slowly, I became faster and finally passed the test.

Two Chinese boys, 10-year-old Song Haoming from Nanning, Guangxi, and 14-year-old Fu Junxi from Kunshan, Jiangsu, wowed the world with their street dancing skills at Juste Debout 2025, one of the world’s top dance competitions.
They regarded the two boys as “the pride of their country”. Their dance has both old and new styles. In the final show, they even mixed traditional Chinese culture, such as Tai Chi, into street dance. This kind of dance can easily evoke our shared cultural memories and build a strong emotional connection. Actually, it is more than a performance—it carries our nation’s spirit and love for the country.
Fu Junxi started learning street dance at five and a half, practicing for 2-3 hours every day after school. Dance has taught him excellent time management. Song Haoming fell in love with dance at three when he watched a street dance video. To perfect his moves, he often repeats a single action hundreds of times. Both boys hope to show the world that Chinese street dance has its own creative spirit, not just simple copies.
Street dance will be an event at the 2026 Asian Games. Fu and Song plan to use more Chinese moves like lion dance and face-changing in their street dance. “Dance can express more than words.” Fu said.
23. Why did the two boys’ dance attract so much attention online?
A. They won first place in the competition.
B. They added traditional Chinese culture.
C. They were the youngest dancers in the event.
24. What does the underlined word “evoke” in Paragraph 2 mean?
A. 唤起 B. 听见 C. 写下
25. We can infer from the passage that ______.
A. Song spent more time on street dance than Fu every day
B. Tai Chi is the most popular part in street dance
C. the two boys’ success comes from their hard practice
26. What is one of the boys’ future plans mentioned in the passage?
A. To open a street dance school and teach more teenagers in China.
B To compete and stay in the first place in Juste Debout every year.
C. To put lion dance in their performance for the 2026 Asian Games.
C
29. Which of the following is NOT a danger to blue whales?
A. Living in most of the world’s oceans.
B. Ocean noise and heavy ship traffic.
C. Fewer food sources because of climate change.
30. What’s the writer’s purpose to write this passage?
A. To introduce the blue whale to us.
B. To share the fact that blue whales are endangered.
C. To call for us to take actions to protect the blue whales.
