Last Friday, Lucy sat by herself and felt upset because her best friend, Alice, didn't speak to her for two days. During the lunch break, Lucy decided to write a note to Alice: ''I miss our chats. Did I do anything wrong? Let's talk after school.'' She put it into Alice's pencil case.
When Alice found the note in her pencil case, she read it carefully and realized she had misunderstood (误解) Lucy. Earlier that week, Alice saw Lucy talking to another classmate and thought Lucy was sharing her secret. After school, they met under the old oak tree near the playground. Autumn leaves fell down under their feet. ''I thought you told others about my birthday surprise,'' Alice said. Lucy explained, ''I was actually asking for advice on your gift! I know your favourite colours are blue and silver. I just wanted your gift to be perfect.''
Alice's face turned red and tears filled her eyes. ''I'm so sorry! I just...'' Her voice sounded a little bit strange. Lucy hugged her tightly. ''Never! But next time, just ask me, okay?'' Then they promised each other they would communicate openly next time. ''Why didn't you tell me earlier?'' Lucy asked. ''I was afraid of losing you,'' Alice said. The girls walked home together, their laughter mixing with rustling (沙沙作响的) leaves. From that day, they promised to share their feelings first. There is no doubt that happiness is one of the best emotions in the world. When something makes you feel good, excited, or truly satisfied, you will feel happy. It's like a warm light that makes you smile and enjoy your life. Being happy also helps you relax.
What makes us happy changes as we grow older. Kids find joy in simple things—like playing with friends, getting a new toy, or having a little pocket money. However, adults care more about relationships, like spending quality time with family, having heart-to-heart talks, or supporting one another. For both kids and adults, staying calm when life gets hard can bring happiness too.
Scientists say that half of our happiness comes from genes (基因). Only 10% depends on things like money or jobs. The remaining 40% is up to us.
Sometimes, happiness and sadness mix together. For example, when you move to a new place, you might feel excited about your new house and future trips, and be sad to leave old friends.
In short, happiness is complex (复杂的) but wonderful. It comes from our heart and the relationships we care about. Try to understand it, and live a happy life.

We teenagers have more and more pressure while growing up. The main reason for pressure is schoolwork and the relationship with others. Students have so much homework that they have no time to relax. Some students don't know how to get along well with others. They feel lonely.
I'll give you some advice to relieve pressure. First of all, you need to take part in all kinds of class activities, such as sports meetings, football games and singing competitions. Besides, you should try to communicate with your classmates as often as possible.
In my opinion, proper pressure is beneficial to our growth and development. We should learn to face pressure in our life.
