When I recently visited Unitree Robotics, a cutting-edge (尖端的) Chinese humanoid (类人的) robot company in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, I decided to test their creation in a unique way.
I volunteered for an experiment—having both the robot and myself standing side by side and pushed over, in order to see who would recover their balance more quickly.
To make things even more challenging, I requested to be blindfolded (蒙住眼睛), ensuring I couldn’t anticipate the push. The result blew my mind. While I was struggling to keep my balance, the humanoid robot hardly moved, staying still in place.
The level of advancement in Chinese humanoid robotics has been far beyond what I anticipated. Earlier this month, Unitree offered an update on their engineering, showcasing (展示) their humanoid robots walking down a boardwalk (木板道), making their way across uneven terrain (地形) and catching up with a human jogger. The company said that the latest robot was “the most agile” robot so far.

Passage 3
(24-25七年级下·北京海淀外国语实验学校·期中)
This development holds significant meaning. More importantly, Chinese robotics makers are mass-producing them and making them cheap for common consumers (消费者).
1.Why did the writer visit Unitree Robotics?
A.To buy a humanoid robot. B.To test the robot’s balance recovery ability.
C.To work as a volunteer engineer. D.To learn how to make robots.
2.What does “blew my mind” mean in Paragraph 3?
A.Made me confused. B.Made me excited.
C.Made me surprised. D.Made me worried.
3.What did the experiment show?
A.The writer could keep still all the time. B.The robot moved faster than the writer.
C.The robot recovered balance more quickly. D.Both the writer and the robot fell down.
4.Why is the development of Chinese humanoid robots important according to the writer?
A.They are becoming affordable for more and more people.
B.They can replace humans in dangerous jobs.
C.They look exactly like real humans.
D.They are more expensive than foreign robots.
【答案】1.B 2.C 3.C 4.A

“I have an idea,” he said. “Next time, I will read a story to you in English, then I will tell you the same story in Esan.”
