I.Teaching Objectives​

1. Knowledge Objectives​

Step 2: Vocabulary Presentation (10 minutes)​

Activity:​ Use sentences and visuals to teach the target words:

“We exchange​ money for goods and services.”

“I can’t afford​ this phone; it’s too expensive.”

“She worked hard to achieve​ her goal​ of entering college.”

“Using money wisely​ brings peace​ of mind.”

“We should use money responsibly​ and be grateful​ for what we have.”

Practice:​ Matching exercises and fill-in-the-blanks with the new words.

Step 3: Listening & Reading (15 minutes)​

Activity 1:​ Listen to the dialogue in Lesson 3 (Ms. Liu and students). Students answer:

What is money according to Ms. Liu?

Why is money important?

What can’t money buy?

Activity 2:​ Read the dialogue aloud in pairs. Focus on pronunciation and intonation.

Activity 3:​ True/False questions based on the dialogue (e.g., “Money can buy happiness.”– False).
