Lesson Plan 1: Welcome to the Unit
Textbook Reference: 7B Unit 7, Pages 80-81
I. Teaching Objectives
Language Ability: Master core vocabulary and key sentence patterns about talking about outdoor activities; correctly pronounce and use the target language in oral communication; complete vocabulary and sentence exercises flexibly.
Cultural Awareness: Learn about common outdoor activities around the world, understand the benefits of outdoor sports for physical and mental health, and cultivate the awareness of actively participating in outdoor activities.
Thinking Quality: Classify different outdoor activities according to their characteristics; infer the suitable outdoor activities based on given clues; organize language logically to express personal preferences and reasons.
Learning Ability: Cooperate with peers to complete dialogue practice and topic discussion; independently finish vocabulary and sentence exercises; stimulate interest in the unit topic through interactive activities.
II. Key & Difficult Points
Key: Master the pronunciation and meaning of target vocabulary; proficiently use the dialogue model to talk about preferences for outdoor activities and reasons.

III. Teaching Procedures
Step 1: Lead-in
Activity 1: Video & Discussion
Play a short video about various outdoor activities. Ask students: "What activities can you see in the video? Have you ever tried any of them? How did you feel?" Invite 3-4 students to share their experiences.
Activity 2: Vocabulary Matching
Show pictures of different outdoor activities and corresponding English words. Ask students to match them quickly. Check the answers together and correct pronunciations:

Play the audio of Part B. Ask students to listen and answer two questions:
1 What outdoor activity does Simon want to try? (Horse riding.)

Activity 1: Pair Work - Dialogue Practice
Example:
Student A: What outdoor activity would you like to try?
Student B: I want to go hiking.
Student A: Why?
Student B: I think hiking is relaxing. I really want to enjoy the fresh air in the countryside. What about you?
Student A: I’d like to try skating!
Student B: What’s fun about skating?
Student A: It’s really challenging. Also, it would be great to skate on the ice with my classmates.
Activity 2: Vocabulary & Sentence Exercises
Fill in the blanks with the correct words:

Step 4: Summary & Homework

Recite the new words and the dialogue in Part B.
Write 3 sentences about your favorite outdoor activity, using the key sentence patterns.
