The term “pre-made dish” has been a hot topic over the past few months.
In September, Luo Yonghao, a well-known businessman, said on Sina Weibo that many dishes served at Xibei Restaurant were pre-made. But Xibei disagreed with this and invited the public to visit their kitchens. During these visits, people discovered frozen broccoli that could last for two years. This led to more public arguments. On September 15, 2025, Xibei said sorry in an open letter, saying they let customers down.
What are “pre-made dishes”? According to a 2024 government notice, pre-made dishes refer to prepackaged (预包装的) foods made from farm products and processed in factories. These dishes need to be heated or cooked before eating. Fresh vegetables and ready-to-eat foods such as salads are not considered pre-made.
Many people worry that the additives (添加剂) in pre-made dishes may cause health problems. However, Tan Guijun from Tianjin First Central Hospital told Xinhua News Agency that if people follow the safety rules to prepare, store and cook the food, the food will remain enough nutrition (营养) for people.
As the food industry develops rapidly and people’s lives become busier, many people agree that pre-made dishes have become an unavoidable thing. Yet, being ▲ matters most: restaurants should clearly tell customers if they use pre-made dishes. Unluckily, now there are no clear rules requiring them to do so. Most businesses often choose not to provide the information, Legal Daily reported.
The government has been working to solve the problem. A draft (草案) of national food safety standards for pre-made dishes has already been passed by experts and will soon be open for public. These standards will clearly explain what pre-made dishes are, and restaurants will have to tell the public if and how they use such products.

A. A fresh lettuce bought from a supermarket.
B. A bowl of salad sold in a supermarket.
C. A frozen pizza that needs to be heated.
D. A fried egg cooked and served at once.
50. Which word can be put in the blank (空白处) of Paragraph 5?
A. delicious. B. honest. C. cheap. D. clean.
51. What can we infer from the passage?
A. Pre-made dishes will cause more health problems.
B. People can avoid pre-made dishes in the future.

①Imagine you are in an autonomous vehicle (AV, 自动驾驶车辆) and face this terrible choice: The car must either turn left and hit an 8-year-old girl, or turn right and hit many walkers. On top of this “moral dilemma”, if the car doesn’t turn, you could be in danger. What decision would you want the car to make?
②When AVs face dangerous situations, should they save people in the car first or walkers? Should they put the greater good above one person’s safety? These questions have been under discussion for years, but there is no perfect answer.
③ “A moral dilemma is a dilemma; it has no clear answer,” wrote Derek Leben, a professor at the Tepper School of Business, US, in his paper.
④Iyad Radhwan, an MIT scientist studied these questions. He found out that people often think about their own safety first. “People buying these cars, they want cars that protect the passengers. But they want other people’s cars to protect walkers instead.”
⑤AVs bring not only moral dilemmas but also problems with rules. If there is an accident, who should be responsible?
⑥In July, 2024, a self-driving taxi by Baidu hit a walker in Wuhan, Hubei, who ran a red light. Baidu worked with the police and took the walker to the hospital. In another accident in Seattle, US. in April, 2024, it was decided that the “driver” should be responsible because he was on his phone while in the full self-driving mode (模式).
⑦The situations of different accidents caused by AVs are so complex (复杂的) that “now there are no very clear laws about it”, said Ji Xuehong, a researcher from North China University of technology.
52. Which of the following sentences can we put “dilemma” in?
A. She faced a _________ when accepting the job abroad or stay with her family.
B. His biggest _________ was forgetting to bring lunch to school yesterday.
C. The broken computer caused a serious _________ for his work project.
D. The teacher gave us a fun _________ to solve in groups during class.
53. What is Paragraph 6 mainly about?
A. Real-life examples of AV accidents in China. B. The best ways to deal with the moral dilemma.
C. Rules of driving AVs in big cities like Seattle. D. Different situations of accidents caused by AVs.
54. What might be Ji Xuehong’s opinion in the last paragraph?
A. AVs remain difficult to drive. B. AVs require better traffic laws.
C. AVs can cause a lot of trouble. D. AVs can replace human drivers.
55. Which of the following shows the structure (结构) of this passage?
A. B.
C. D.

【解析】
【导语】本文主要探讨了自动驾驶车辆面临的道德困境和规则问题。
【52题详解】
词义猜测题。根据“The car must either turn left and hit an 8-year-old girl, or turn right and hit many walkers. On top of this “moral dilemma”, if the car doesn’t turn, you could be in danger. What decision would you want the car to make?”可知,这里是指遇到一个难以抉择的困境,所以A选项把dilemma放进去语境合适,意思是“是接受国外的工作还是与家人在一起,她面临着两难的选择。”故选A。
根据“The situations of different accidents caused by AVs are so complex (复杂的) that ‘now there are no very clear laws about it’, said Ji Xuehong, a researcher from North China University of technology.”

Have you ever wished you could turn back time and do something differently? Everyone makes mistakes. The important thing is not to be afraid. You are just teenagers. Remember that messing up from time to time is part of growing up.
Mistakes are important. When you mess something up, it’s easy to feel bad. However, mistakes give your brain a chance to think about what it’s doing and learn, so you will get things right in the future. When you fall off a bike, your brain creates electrical activity. This sends a signal to the rest of your brain before you even hit the ground. Studies show these signals teach you to be more careful next time.
How can they help? Making mistakes makes you stronger. England footballer Lauren Hemp, who won the Women’s Euros with the Lionesses this summer, says sometimes the team makes “mistake after mistake” in matches, but this just makes them want to play better. What seems like a disaster at the time can sometimes be funny afterwards. So if you worry about saying the wrong thing in class, you could be sharing a joke about it soon.
Face up to failures. The best way to learn from your mistakes is to face up to them. Trying to feel comfortable when things go wrong might feel like a strange way to deal with failure, but it’s a more positive way forward. This is because when you’re not being hard on yourself, it’s easier to learn and this helps you do things differently next time.
56. According to the passage, how do mistakes help your brain?
A. By making you feel bad right away.
B. By giving your brain a chance to think and learn.
C. By helping you run away from future activities.
D. By stopping electrical activities in the brain.
57. Why does the writer mention Lauren Hemp’s experience in Paragraph 3?
A. To show that mistakes only happen in sports.
B. To argue that mistakes are always disasters.
C. To show that mistakes can push people to improve.
D. To suggest that famous people never learn from mistakes.
58. What is the best way to learn from mistakes according to the passage?
A. Hiding mistakes from others. B. Being very strict with yourself.
C. Facing up to mistakes. D. Forgetting about mistakes quickly.
59. Which magazine is this passage probably from?
A. B. C. D.

“Failed.” Seeing the result of the test, Wang Wenwang felt his dream of becoming a wood restorer (木作修复师) lay in pieces. That night, he sat alone, looking at his tools. “Maybe I need more practice.” he thought. He reached for a piece of wood, ready to try again. For years as an apprentice (学徒) , he has tried his best to do the work as carefully as possible.
In 2005, Wang started to dream of setting up a museum to help more people learn about traditional Chinese handicrafts (手工艺) . To make his dream come true, he wrote the plans himself many times and asked experts for advice. He spent a lot of time collecting wooden cultural relics (文物). It cost him much money. But none of these stopped him.
Thanks to people like Wang, traditional Chinese handicrafts are being passed down in a way that we can’t see.
At five o’clock in the morning, the lights were already on at Beijing Minzu Hotel. The head pastry chef (面点主厨) , Zhao Huilian, was making the Lion’s Head-shaped pastries. What he made looked so real.
However, it was difficult for him to keep up with his teacher in the beginning. It took him nearly three years to perfect the Lion’s Head pastry shape. For the filling, he tested more than 100 different recipes before finding the best one. Repeating these movements every day made his fingers hurt so much. During that time, he kept telling himself, “I truly enjoy doing this. I believe my efforts today will show results someday. ”
Now, he is good at making these traditional pastries. He hopes to pass down his Chinese pastry-making skills to young people.

Architects (建筑师) have long had the feeling that the places we live in can influence our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. But now scientists are giving this feeling a scientific basis.
Studies show that characteristics of the physical environment can influence creativity. Joan Meyers-Levy at the University of Minnesota reported that the height of a room’s ceiling (天花板) influences how people think. Her research shows that higher ceilings encourage people to think more freely, which may lead them to make more imaginative connections. Low ceilings, on the other hand, may make people feel a little stressed.
What’s more, the view offered by a building may influence people’s attention. Nancy Wells and her workmates at Cornell University found in their study that kids who experienced the greatest increase in greenness as a result of a family move made the most achievements on a standard test of attention.
Using nature to improve attention can be helpful, according to a study led by C Kenneth Tanner. Tanner and his team found that students in classrooms with unblocked views of at least 50 feet outside the window did better in tests of vocabulary, language arts and maths than students whose classrooms mainly offered a view of roads and parking lots.
Researchers of Harvard Medical School made a study on room lighting design and suggested that dim (暗淡的) light helped people to relax better. If that is true generally, keeping the light low during dinner or at parties could make people feel more relaxed. They also discovered that furniture with rounded edges (边) could help visitors feel quiet and comfortable.
So far scientists have been studying mainly on public buildings. And we’ll get more discoveries one day.

A. B.
C. D.
D.
A. B. C. D.

Anyone can shine in his field if he keeps creating beauty with his hands.
