School Uniforms
Chen Jie @ China
Our school uniforms are simple and comfortable. They are in sports style, which makes us move freely. They are usually bright colors like red, blue or green. Red is a most-loved color in China because it symbolizes good luck. Blue and green mean life and energy. Our school uniforms create a sense of equality (平等) among students. Also, they help us build a sense of pride in our schools. What’s more, they help teachers recognize (认出) students easily, and this can improve school safety.
Kanchana @ Thailand
Our school uniforms are an important part of Thai culture. They have a special Thai style. The design is different for boys and girls. Boys usually wear shirts and trousers, while girls wear shirts and skirts. Trousers and skirts are often in dark colors, but shirts are always white. This is because white stands for purity (纯洁) in our country. The uniforms are made of light and comfortable materials to keep students cool in the hot weather. Besides, they also carry deep meanings. They are a symbol of strict school rules and the idea of equality.
Peter Brown @ the UK
We British are famous for our gentle manners and seriousness. So our school uniforms are always in classic and formal (正式的) style. When I think about our class charity sale last month, I still can’t help but smile. It all started when Ms. Carter asked who wanted to be the “sales helper”—someone to set up tables and greet customers. I jumped up right away. “I’ll do it!” I said, already imagining how nice I’d look while helping out.
That night, I asked Mom if I could wear her leather shoes with tiny bows (带小蝴蝶结的皮鞋). “But they’re not for running around,” Mom said. “The sale will be busy, and you’ll need comfortable shoes.” “But they’re pretty!” I said. “I want to look nice for customers!” At last, Mom gave in, but she still put a pair of blue running shoes in my backpack.
On the morning of the sale, our classroom was full of painted cups, colorful scarves, and homemade cookies. I put on the leather shoes and stood by our table. I was so full of joy! But when I tried to carry a box of cups, my foot slipped (滑) —crash! A cup broke, and my heel got stuck between two boxes.
Mia, my classmate, helped pull my foot free, but the shoe’s bow was missing. Just then, I thought of the running shoes Mom had put in my backpack. I took them out, put them on, and felt much better.
For the rest of the day, I carried boxes, laughed with customers, and even sold the most scarves in our class! I looked at my blue running shoes and smiled. Who knew that a pair of running shoes could make me the happiest helper?
24.What does the underlined part “gave in” mean in Paragraph 2?
A.劝阻 B.让步 C.沉默
25.How did the writer probably feel when she first put on the leather shoes?
A.Proud and excited. B.Surprised and lucky. C.Worried and nervous.

B.Listening to mothers is always the best choice.
C.Being comfortable is more important than just looking nice.

Polar bears and penguins are both amazing animals. They live in some of the coldest places on Earth, yet they never meet each other. Why? Because they live at opposite ends of the planet!
Polar bears live in the Arctic (北极地区). The Arctic is a huge ocean covered with ice and snow. But polar bears are perfectly suited to this icy world. They have two thick layers (层) of fur (毛皮) and a thick layer of fat to keep them warm. They are also strong swimmers and skilled hunters (狩猎者). But why are they only found in the north?
The answer lies in geography. Millions of years ago, all the lands were joined together. As they slowly separated, the ancestors of polar bears stayed in the northern lands that later became Europe, Asia and North America. By the time polar bears appeared, Antarctica (南极洲) was already far away.
Penguins mostly live in Antarctica. It is even colder there, with strong winds and winter temperatures as low as -60℃. Still, penguins have developed abilities to stand the terrible conditions. Their blood moves through their bodies in a special way that helps prevent heat loss. Also, they can swim quickly and go deep into the water to catch fish.
However, unlike most birds, penguins cannot fly, so they can’t travel far. Besides, the Arctic has fewer fish, and it is also home to many dangerous animals like foxes and bears. That’s why penguins never move north to the Arctic. They are safe and well-fed just where they are!
Now you know why polar bears stay in the Arctic, and penguins stay in Antarctica. They live far from each other—they only meet in zoos!
28.What can we know from Paragraph 2?
A.How polar bears stay warm.
B.How long polar bears can live.
C.How polar bears hunt for food.
29.Why does the writer mention the history of the Earth’s land?
A.To show why polar bears live only in the north.
B.To explain why Antarctica is colder than the Arctic.
C.To tell us how the ancestors of polar bears developed.
30.How do penguins keep warm according to the passage?
A.They stay together in large groups.
B.Their blood moves in a special way.
C.Their thick layer of fat helps prevent heat loss.
31.What is the best title for the passage?
A.The Icy Worlds of North and South
B.Why Polar Bears and Penguins Never Meet
C.Amazing Skills of Polar Bears and Penguins
D
Recently, a phrase “Ai Ni Lao Ji, Ming Tian Jian” (meaning “Love, Yourself, See You Tomorrow”) has become a hit on the short video. It has even turned into a warm secret sign for young people. The simple phrase comes from an ordinary (普通的) life moment and shows a lot about young people’s attitude (态度) towards life today.
The story behind it is simple: a video blogger wanted to eat a grapefruit but felt lazy to peel it. Finally, he did it himself and said this phrase to himself like talking to an old friend. Though it seems common, the phrase exactly catches young people’s deep feelings—enabling them to learn to care for themselves and build inner order when life is tiring. It turns the general idea of “loving oneself” into real life practice.
More importantly, the phrase stands for a change in values. It is not just a phrase but an active source (来源) of inner energy, helping young people grow a lot. Their romance (浪漫) is moving from one-sidedly expecting others’ love to practicing two-way self-care. They used to wait for care from family or friends, but now they realize self-care is also a kind of romance.
Some people may think that focusing on self-care will make young people become closed off. However, this is not true at all. A person who knows how to properly care for himself and calm his emotions can better care for others and connect with the world. Just like a cup that is full of water can pour water for others, a person with inner energy can bring warmth to those around him.
In short, the popularity of “Love Yourself, See You Tomorrow” is no accident. It reflects young people’s active efforts for a better life. This warm phrase reminds us: don’t forget to love ourselves in busy life. Only by taking good care of ourselves can we face life bravely and live meaningfully.
32.Where has the phrase become popular?
A.On short videos.
B.In a warm secret sign.
C.From an important life moment.
33.Why does the phrase exactly catch young people’s common feelings?
A.Because it brings them relaxation.
B.Because it builds them outer order.
C.Because it encourages their self-care.
34.Which of the following statements is TRUE?
A.Self-care will make young people more closed off.
B.Young people still only expect love from others now.
C.People with inner energy can bring warmth to others.
35.What is the writer’s attitude towards the phrase?
A.Doubtful! B.Supportive. C.Uninterested.
第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)

Classics are good books loved for a long time, and they are very important for middle school students. Reading these books is not just a hobby but a necessary part of their study. 36
First, classics help students see a bigger picture. Unlike short passages or textbooks, classic books like Tom Sawyer or Journey to the West show different times, places and life stories. Middle school students can “visit” the American countryside, ancient China or European cities through reading. 37 This helps them look beyond daily life and have a more open mind.
Second, classics make students’ language and writing skills better. Most classics have good writing styles and many useful words. 38 For example, reading Lu Xun’s works can teach them to write clearly and strongly. Reading easy parts of Shakespeare’s plays helps them learn lively talks. These skills help a lot with their writing.
39 Many classics tell stories about courage, kindness and not giving up. Characters like Robinson Crusoe, who keeps trying when in trouble, or Mulan, who is loyal and brave, are good examples for students. Middle school students are forming their values, and these good characters can guide them to be better people.
In short, classics are valuable. They help middle school students grow in seeing the world, using language and building characters. 40 Even spending 20 minutes a day can bring great benefits. Let’s start with a simple classic and enjoy the journey of reading.
A.Classics are always the best choice.
B.There are three main reasons behind.
C.They learn how people lived in different times.
D.Third, classics help students build good characters.
E.When students read them, they slowly learn to use them.
F.Every student should make reading classics a regular habit.

A trip to Xinjiang changes my view
Before this trip, I thought Xinjiang was only a place of “big views”—big deserts, wide grasslands and open skies. What surprised me most was not how vast everything was, but how Xinjiang made me slow down and see things 51 (different).
At Sayram Lake (赛里木湖), my family planned 52 (take) many photos, but we ended up putting our phones away. The lake was so blue 53 it almost looked unreal, as if someone had dropped a piece of the sky onto the ground. As I sat there longer, my thoughts grew 54 (quiet) too. I wasn’t excited or amazed; I was calm. It made me realize that travel doesn’t always need strong 55 (feeling). There’s no need to chase after every photo or every “wow” moment. Sometimes, you 56 (teach) by the place about how to be still.
The Dushanzi Grand Canyon (独山子大峡谷) gave me the opposite lesson. Standing at the edge, I didn’t feel brave at all. I was careful. 57 canyon didn’t seem to welcome humans; it just existed (存在), whether we were there or not. That made me think: Nature doesn’t need 58 (we) to admire it. We are the visitors, not the owners. That’s why more and more people are interested 59 nature.
Xinjiang 60 (change) my idea of travel so far. It wasn’t about checking off landmarks or taking perfect photos, nor was it about seeing more. It was about pausing to listen to the world around me and thinking deeper about my place in it—a lesson I’ll carry with me long after leaving this amazing land.
第三部分 写作(共两节,满分30分)
第一节(共5小题;满分10分)
阅读下面短文,按照题目要求用英语回答问题,并将答案写到答题卡的相应位置。
In the northern dark sea, there is a fish, known as Kun (北冥有鱼,其名为鲲). Have you ever imagined the scene from an ancient tale by Zhuangzi? Recently, a natural wonder at the Yellow River Delta in Shandong, brings this famous line to life.
On December 7, 2025, something wonderful happened. More than 240,000 Baikal teals (花脸鸭) gathered in the sky. Against the golden sunset, they flew together in a huge, ever changing group, sometimes like a huge whale, sometimes like a great bird spreading its wings. Seeing the scene, people were amazed and called it the real “Kunpeng” from Zhuangzi’s tale. Soon, the topic “Kunpeng in the northern sea is real” spread widely online.
This amazing event is known as a “bird wave”. It is not magic, but a smart skill. Scientists say birds fly in such large groups mainly to save energy during long journeys and stay safe from enemies. By flying together, they help each other move more easily through the air.
The appearance of the bird wave is also a sign of successful environmental protection. The Yellow River Delta Wetland was once poor land, but after years of people’s efforts like adding water and turning farmland back into wetland, it has now become an important home and rest stop for millions of migratory birds (候鸟).
To protect the birds, local government advises visitors to keep at least 100 meters away, avoid using drones (无人机) nearby and never feed the birds. This event wonderfully connects ancient imagination with natural beauty and the achievements of modern environmental protection. Let’s enjoy the beauty of nature!
61.Where did the natural wonder appear?
62.How did people feel when they saw the “bird wave”?
63.Why do birds fly in large groups?
64.What should visitors do to protect the birds?

C.She made the most cookies for the sale.

B.Listening to mothers is always the best choice.
C.Being comfortable is more important than just looking nice.

25.第三段指出:“I put on the leather shoes and stood by our table. I was so full of joy!”,结合前文作者想象自己帮忙时的好看模样,可知作者刚穿上皮鞋时感到骄傲又兴奋。
26.最后一段提到:“I carried boxes, laughed with customers, and even sold the most scarves in our class!”,因此作者换上跑鞋后取得的成就是卖出了班里最多的围巾。

【答案】28.A 29.A 30.B 31.B
【导语】本文主要讲述了北极熊和企鹅生活在极地却从不相遇的原因。
28.第二段明确指出:“They have two thick layers (层) of fur (毛皮) and a thick layer of fat to keep them warm”,说明北极熊是依靠两层厚皮毛+一层厚脂肪来保暖的。
29.第二段结尾提出问题:“But why are they only found in the north?”,第三段用陆地板块分离的历史解答了这个问题,所以作者提及陆地历史的目的就是解释北极熊只住在北方的原因。
30.第四段明确指出:“Their blood moves through their bodies in a special way that helps prevent heat loss”,说明企鹅体内特殊的血液流动方式可以帮助它们保暖。
31.文章开篇点明北极熊和企鹅生活在极地却从不相遇,后文分别解释原因,结尾再次点题,因此B选项“为什么北极熊和企鹅永远不会相遇”为标题最佳。
【答案】32.A 33.C 34.C 35.B
【导语】本文主要介绍了“Love Yourself, See you Tomorrow” 在短视频走红,它鼓励年轻人关爱自己、积极改变,能给人能量,让人更好地关爱他人,作者对此持支持态度。
32.第一段指出“Ai Ni Lao...become a hit on the short video”,直接说明这句话在短视频平台流行。
33.第二段解释为何这句话抓住了年轻人的共同感受:“enabling them to learn to care for themselves”,鼓励他们学会照顾自己。
34.第四段指出专注于自我照顾并不会让年轻人变得封闭,“A person who knows how to properly care for himself...with the world”说明有内在能量的人可以给别人带来温暖。
35.全文围绕这句话的积极影响展开,强调其正能量、鼓励年轻人关爱自己、积极生活,因此作者的态度是支持的。

由“Wake up!”和父亲打哈欠起床的语境可知,父亲当时正在睡觉,sleeping(正在睡觉的)符合语境,smiling(微笑的)和 walking(行走的)均不符合“叫醒”的逻辑。

47.句意:“这是我的病人,Sam。”爸爸平静地说,拿起了他的医疗包。熊猫因疼痛呻吟,父亲要给它喂药、护理,说明熊猫是父亲的救治对象,即patient(病人)符合医疗场景。

65.Why do more and more migratory birds come to the Yellow River Delta?
【答案】61.At the Yellow River Delta in Shandong. 62.They felt amazed. 63.To save energy during long journeys and stay safe from enemies. 64.They should keep at least 100 meters away, avoid using drones nearby and never feed the birds. 65.Because the Yellow River Delta Wetland has become an important home and rest stop for migratory birds after years of environmental protection efforts.

参考范文
During my three years in junior high school, I had an unforgettable experience of overcoming difficulties. Last year, I faced a big challenge—preparing for the 800-meter race. I was weak in long-distance running and often felt exhausted. To overcome it, I practiced running on the playground every afternoon. I also asked my P.E. teacher for advice on breathing techniques. During the race, I kept encouraging myself and finally reached the finish line.
From this experience, I learned that perseverance is the key to success.

They are often in dark colors like blue, black or gray, which gives students a serious look. Students usually wear a waistcoat (马甲), a shirt and a tie. The design of school uniforms usually stands for rules, equality and a connection to the values of school.

26.What did the writer achieve after changing her shoes?
A.She sold the most scarves in her class.
B.She carried the most boxes in her class.
C.She made the most cookies for the sale.
27.What did the writer learn from this experience?
A.Charity sales need careful preparation.
B.Listening to mothers is always the best choice.
C.Being comfortable is more important than just looking nice.
C

65.Why do more and more migratory birds come to the Yellow River Delta?
