The library has no paper books. Instead, it holds 500 ebooks stored in waterproof (防水的) boxes on the seabed, 10 meters below the surface. Visitors can read the books by diving or using a special underwater tablet (平板电脑). The books are all about ocean science, sea animals, and how to keep the sea clean.
Local divers helped build the library. They fixed the boxes to metal shelves and added lights to attract (吸引) fish. “We want people to see the beauty of the ocean while learning how to protect it,” said Dr. Lisa Moore, the project leader.
Since its opening, over 200 divers have visited “Sea Pages.” A 16-year-old diver, Tom Green, said, “Reading a book under water is cool. I learned that plastic waste is very bad for sea turtles. I’ll never throw rubbish on the beach again.”

第二节 阅读表达(共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
Every summer since 2020, the Children’s Library in Shijiazhuang, Hebei has held a “Summer Reading Camp” for primary school students. The camp usually runs from early July to late August, lasting about two months. It was started to help students make good use of their summer vacation—instead of spending too much time on mobile phones, they can read interesting books and make new friends.
During the camp, the library offers different activities. Every Monday morning, volunteers read picture books to younger kids. On Wednesday afternoons, older students can join book discussion groups to share ideas about the novels they’ve read. The library also prepares a small “reading corner” with soft cushions (坐垫) and warm lights, making it a comfortable place for kids to read for hours.
Last year, over 500 students took part in the camp. Many parents said their children became more interested in reading after joining. “My son used to play video games every day in summer,” said Ms. Li, a mother of a 9-year-old boy. “Now he asks me to take him to the library every weekend!”
This year, the library plans to add a “handmade book” activity. Students will learn to make simple books with their own drawings and stories, hoping to make the camp even more fun.

World’s First Underwater Library opens in Australia SYDNEY, Dec. 9, 2025—The world’s first underwater library, named “Sea Pages,” opened last week off the coast of Queensland, Australia. This special library aims to teach people to protect ocean life.

【答案】参考范文
Dear Mike,
I’m glad to hear you’re coming to China! It’s nice to share some Chinese social customs with you.
If you want to visit your friends, you are supposed to call them first. Greet the host politely when you enter the house. Never enter the bedroom without the host’s permission.
When you eat at table, wait for the elder people to start eating first. Also, never hit bowls with chopsticks. It’s impolite to stick your chopsticks into food, either.
When you go out, always arrive on time for plans. You can say “nihao” with a smile and shake hands when meeting. Do not speak loudly in public places.
Hope these tips can help you. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
Yours,
Li Hua
