Recently, a phrase “Ai Ni Lao Ji, Ming Tian Jian” (meaning “Love, Yourself, See You Tomorrow”) has become a hit on the short video. It has even turned into a warm secret sign for young people. The simple phrase comes from an ordinary (普通的) life moment and shows a lot about young people’s attitude (态度) towards life today.
The story behind it is simple: a video blogger wanted to eat a grapefruit but felt lazy to peel it. Finally, he did it himself and said this phrase to himself like talking to an old friend. Though it seems common, the phrase exactly catches young people’s deep feelings—enabling them to learn to care for themselves and build inner order when life is tiring. It turns the general idea of “loving oneself” into real life practice.
More importantly, the phrase stands for a change in values. It is not just a phrase but an active source (来源) of inner energy, helping young people grow a lot. Their romance (浪漫) is moving from one-sidedly expecting others’ love to practicing two-way self-care. They used to wait for care from family or friends, but now they realize self-care is also a kind of romance.
Some people may think that focusing on self-care will make young people become closed off. However, this is not true at all. A person who knows how to properly care for himself and calm his emotions can better care for others and connect with the world. Just like a cup that is full of water can pour water for others, a person with inner energy can bring warmth to those around him.
In short, the popularity of “Love Yourself, See You Tomorrow” is no accident. It reflects young people’s active efforts for a better life. This warm phrase reminds us: don’t forget to love ourselves in busy life. Only by taking good care of ourselves can we face life bravely and live meaningfully.
3. Where has the phrase become popular?
A. On short videos.
B. In a warm secret sign.
C. From an important life moment.
4. Why does the phrase exactly catch young people’s common feelings?
A. Because it brings them relaxation.
B. Because it builds them outer order.
C. Because it encourages their self-care.
5. Which of the following statements is TRUE?
A. Self-care will make young people more closed off.
B. Young people still only expect love from others now.
C. People with inner energy can bring warmth to others.
6. What is the writer’s attitude towards the phrase?
A. Doubtful! B. Supportive. C. Uninterested.

A Rod (杖) that “Heals (治愈)”
Look at the logos of these medical organizations! What do they have in common? Did you notice that all of them have a snake resting on a rod? What does that stand for?
This is a special rod. It’s called the Rod of Asclepius. Asclepius was a son of Apollo, a powerful god in Greek and Roman mythology (神话). He is usually drawn as an old man with a beard (胡须), standing by his rod.
Apollo raised Asclepius and also taught him the art of healing. Asclepius became so skilled at it that he once brought a patient back from the dead. This alarmed Zeus. “The King of the Gods” feared that he and the other gods would have lots of trouble if humans could live forever. For this reason, he hit Asclepius down with lightning.
This angered Apollo. According to Roman mythology, he asked that his dead son be placed among the stars. Zeus agreed and turned the healer into Ophiuchus (蛇夫星座).
But why is there a snake on Asclepius’s rod? Was he a big fan of snakes? There are several different explanations. One suggests that the snake stands for a snakebite, one of the most feared hurts in ancient times. It was very difficult to treat, but Asclepius had the power to heal even this. Another popular explanation is based on an ancient method of removing parasitic worms (寄生虫). In this case, however, the “snake” on the rod might actually be a worm.
Whatever the true explanation may be, Asclepius’s “snake rod” became a universal symbol of health and medicine and has remained so to this day. That’s why you can find it in the logos above and in those of many other medical organizations.
7. How does the writer begin the passage?
A. By telling stories. B. By asking questions. C. By showing his ideas.
8. Why did Zeus strike Asclepius with lightning?
A. Asclepius was stealing from the gods.
B. Asclepius learned how to heal snakebites.
C. Asclepius was teaching humans to live forever.
9. What does the underlined word “universal” mean in Paragraph 6?
A. 普遍的 B. 特殊的 C. 神秘的
10. What is the main purpose of the passage?
A. To explain the history of Greek mythology.
B. To discuss the different types of medical organizations.
C. To describe the history of the medical symbol with a snake and rod.

第一节
阅读下面短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
Gather together some good friends and hang out around the streets. This is what many young people in China enjoy doing when they visit a new city.
What makes a Citywalk? To them, it means “roaming (漫步) around the city” on foot. They avoid famous places and big crowds. Instead, they often explore old buildings or small shops and enjoy a cup of coffee or local snacks.
Citywalk provides people with a chance to experience the city in a different way. It also gives them a chance to know the city’s culture. Some organizers invite cultural researchers to act as tour guides. Visitors can enjoy walking in open-air museums and have deep conversations with their guides.
Some cities included Citywalk in their plans to promote (促进) cultural tourism. For example, Shanghai has created Citywalk routes (路线). It is trying to help tourists explore more places with fewer people by public transport. At present, the idea of Citywalk is new to most Chinese people. However, people working in the tourist industry believe it has a bright future. This is because tourists nowadays are paying more attention to personalized travel services. Many tour guides share their Citywalk experiences to attract (吸引) more customers.
Within a short time, the Citywalk trend (潮流) is spreading from big cities like Beijing and Shanghai to smaller cities. Keywords for Citywalk are getting popular across Chinese social media. More and more people actively share their experiences and thoughts online. Do you know why? The answer is posts about Citywalk can attract a lot of viewers and their likes. We all wish we have magic in learning English words. After all, we can come across so many new words while reading books, newspapers or magazines. I’ve got a little secret that has helped me build a large English vocabulary. ____11____
Before you start, you’ll need to have two things ready—a notebook and good reading material. The material should match your level. If you don’t know where to find the right book, you can start with easy texts. ____12____ As I read, I underline the words and phrases (短语) that seem useful. But how do I know I’ve collected “enough” useful words and expressions? I look at what I’ve underlined and ask myself if I can retell the main ideas from the material with them. ____13____ After that, I copy those words and phrases into my notebook.
The final step is the most important one. ____14____ As you go through your list, think about how the main ideas in the material are connected. This may sound boring, but if you don’t review your notes, those useful words and phrases will soon come out of your mind easily. Then, if you aren’t able to use them in everyday conversation or writing, what’s the point?
____15____ I hope it’ll do the same for you on your journey to memorizing (记忆) as many words as you need!
A. Let me tell you about my secret.
