Creating rice paddy art is far from simple. It 18 careful planning and teamwork. First, farmers draw a picture 19 a computer program. Then, they mark the design on a map of the 20 . This helps show which kind of seeds should be planted in each section. After that, they are ready to sow (播种) the seeds, with the help of either drones (无人机) or volunteers.
Rice paddy art in China started around 2010 in Shenyang. Since then, the idea has quickly 21 to other cities such as Harbin and Hangzhou. On 24 October 2023, Tianjin set a Guinness World Record with a three-D rice field artwork 22 “Celebrating Harvest, Promoting Harmony”. While many people were relaxing or traveling during the Labor Day holiday, I was volunteering at Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai.
It was the first time that I had volunteered in another country. My job was to help visitors with directions. I thought it was easy at first, but I soon realized that there was more to it.
I worked with two helpful Chinese women. Some people didn’t come to me because they thought I couldn’t speak Chinese. To break the ice, I greeted everyone asking for help with a big smile and said in Chinese, “Welcome! How can I help you?” They were surprised and happy to hear me speak Chinese.
One day, a family from Shaanxi came by. The young boy shouted, “Waiguoren!” I smiled and asked if they needed any help. The father wasn’t sure at first, but one of my workmates said, “He can speak Chinese!” Then the father started talking to me. He asked me lots of questions about my country. One was about why many Africans eat with their hands. I explained that it’s part of our culture. Later, I asked him about his hometown. He told me about Xi’an and the Silk Road. His son even practiced a few words with me. We all had fun.
Volunteering there made me understand Chinese culture better. To all international students: Life isn’t just in your books—it’s in the real world, too.

In China, many young people are starting to collect things that others throw away. From bubble tea cups to train tickets, they are keeping these small items as treasures. This habit is sometimes called “grandma-core” because it reminds them of how their grandparents used to save everything for future use.
Many young people once wondered why their parents and grandparents kept so many things. But now, they find themselves doing the same. A common saying among them is: “First, we question our mums. Then, we understand our mums. Finally, we become our mums.”
Luo Jiayi, a 20-year-old college student, is a perfect example. He loves milk tea and has collected many takeout bags from his favourite drinks. Some bags are reused as gift wrap, while others become craft projects or even trash bags.“Many students do this,” he said.“Special bags with movie or game designs are especially popular at school.”
However, keeping these items can be a problem, especially in small dorm rooms. Still, young people find creative ways to reuse them. On social media, they proudly post how they turn “trash” into useful items. For example: A takeout bag becomes a pencil case. A coffee cup sleeve becomes a book cover. Thermal food packaging is reused as a lunch bag. Shoe boxes are not thrown away but are reused as storage boxes.
Another student, 19-year-old Lu Yunli, collects pretty packaging because she loves beautiful things. “Bringing a nice bag to class with my lunch makes me happy,” she said.
“These designs are getting more and more attractive.”
For young people, saving isn’t about being cheap— it’s about being ▲ . They spend money on things they love but avoid waste. By reusing and recycling, young people are creating a lifestyle that is both practical and creative.
34.What can we know from the underlined sentence in Para.2?

China is quickly becoming the fashion capital. Thanks to social media and young customers, China prefers to develop its own style, Chinese style. And there have been some achievements for the past few years. There is even a name for it: China-Chic.
Maybe you have heard of it by chance. China-Chic is the result of young people's interests in Chinese culture and things. It's reported that 68 percent of young Chinese, especially those between the ages of 20-25, say they prefer products made in China to those made abroad. They are now prouder of “Chinese style”.
A 25-year-old vlogger (视频博主) named Cai Qian spent 15 days making a golden mask, which is really similar to the ancient mask found at Sanxingdui Ruins site in Sichuan. His video has drawn over 11 million viewers. And later, he recreated another thing from the same 3,000-year-old site. This made him get over 7 million viewers again.
One of the reasons why this is happening is the development of e-commerce (电子商务) and social media, which gives sellers a direct chance to communicate with their customers. Now people can learn about the Chinese styles and buy something which they are interested in easily.
So, what is China-Chic, really? Well, it's bright and colourful. We will see more red and gold in China than in the fashion capitals of London, Paris and New York. And of course, there is the love of beauty which is deeply included in Chinese culture. I think China-Chic will become more and more popular around the world.
58.What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 1 refer to?

However, you may be asking, “ 15 is the art created from only rice plants?” The secret 16 lies in choosing different kinds of rice seeds. 17 the plants grow, each type shows a different colour, from green to purple, to bring an artwork to life.
It covers 50,798 square metres and is 23 than any other three-D rice field artwork around the world.

根据后文“The secret...in choosing different kinds of rice seeds”可知,此处是询问创作“方式”,用How。
to“到”、from“来自”、under“在…… 下”与“用电脑绘图”的搭配不符。
20.句意:然后,他们在田地的地图上标记出设计图案。
稻田画创作载体是“田地”,此处指把设计标记在田地的地图上,field表示“田地”。town“城镇”、village“村庄”、country“国家”均不是稻田画的直接创作载体。
21.句意:从那以后,这个想法迅速传播到了哈尔滨、杭州等其他城市。
根据“...started around 2010 in Shenyang... to other cities such as Harbin and Hangzhou”,稻田画从沈阳发展到多个城市,是“传播”的过程,spread符合语境。
“between...and...” against“反对”、beyond“超出”、within“在……内部”均不符合“连接两者”的逻辑。
