When I was small, my mum always told me,“I just want you to be happy.” But what exactly is happiness? Is it a place, or a never-ending journey? Is happiness on social media? It sure seems that way. People love sharing perfect pictures online. But going through posts on the Internet sometimes can actually make you feel worse about your life. They mislead people into thinking that others are better off. ▲ Also, a study shows people spending over two hours daily on social media are twice as likely to feel lonely.
But what if we're the ones posting? When we share a happy moment, we get excited, but after a while, we return to feeling the same as before. Happiness only lasts for so long, and when it ends, we set out looking for new happiness. And social media has made this search harder than ever.
Happily, there's still hope for us to find lasting happiness. This happens when we allow ourselves to feel and deal with emotions like anger, disappointment, fear and sadness. It's not easy, but when we are honest about our experiences, we build deeper and more meaningful connections with others. And those friendships bring us smiles that last much longer than any number of “likes” on a screen!
March 20th is World Happiness Day. Take it as a reminder that trying to be happy all the time is like trying to catch a unicorn(独角兽)-it's just not going to happen. Instead, focus on your own journey and accept different emotions you'll feel along the way.

Do you want a pet at home? Parents don't want a pet at home for a number of reasons. However, there are a lot of good sides of keeping a pet too.
Before you ask for keeping a pet, plan out your words and actions with the following steps.
First, look for information about how to look after the kind of pet you want. Read some books, search online, or ask friends who have pets and know the information. Does it need lots of outdoor space? What about its eating habits? ▲ The more you know about the pet, the more likely your parents will agree.
What's more, your parents need time to think about it and it may take a week or longer. If they refuse, don't urge them. Keep silent about it for a few days. Changing your talking ways helps a lot. For example, change your words “Mum/Dad, a cat is so cute” into “Cats are easier to look after than dogs. They are smaller and won't smell bad in the house”. Act like a mature (成熟的) one at home. Finish your homework carefully in time, do chores as possible as you can, and keep the house clean.
Last but not least, find out the reason why they don't let you have a pet. You may have an answer to their worry. Is it because there isn't enough space? Start a clean-up!
Follow these steps, show your responsibility, and your parents might say yes-then you'll have a lovely pet friend.
