Passage 1
I have stayed in China 1 eight months. Every time I want to sit on the grass,“Keep off the grass” signs make 2 nervous. In the UK, whether it's in fields of wild grass or in well-kept national parks, people make good 3 of the green grass.
The British take grassland for granted(认为……理所当然).If it 4 a sunny day, people will sit on a bed of grass and relax in the sun's warmth. This gives you the chance 5 to the sound of nature. Maybe it’s a bird singing to 6 , or the soft wind that brings you cool air.
Also, in most schools, grass fields act like a soft study desk for students to read books and learn. 7 they can be used to just talk, laugh and play on.
Besides, families enjoy 8 their weekends on the grass in parks. There, families can set up a picnic and children can play games.
However, there is 9 rule to make people enjoy the green grass. In some parks, there are different grasslands for people to relax and play sport on. If people want to relax, they’d better choose the right field, or they 10 feel the full force of a football!

根据动词搭配“the chance to do something”,应选用动词不定式to listen作后置定语,listen (动词原形)和listening (现在分词/动名词)不符合该结构,故排除。

A
Last summer, I went to visit my uncle in England. I had a great time there, but I also made some funny mistakes because of cultural differences.
One day, my uncle took me to a restaurant. When the waiter came, I said, “I want a hamburger and a cola.” But my uncle told me that in England, it’s more polite to say “Could I have a hamburger and a cola, please?” I felt embarrassed but learned a lesson.
Another time, I met my uncle’s friend, Mr. Brown. I reached out my hand to shake hands with him, but he gave me a kiss on the cheek. I was surprised because in China, we only shake hands when we meet someone for the first time.
Then, at a party, I saw people opening their gifts immediately when they received them. In China, we usually open gifts later when we get home. I asked my uncle why, and he said that in England, it’s polite to open gifts in front of the giver to show you like them.
These mistakes taught me that learning about different cultures is very important. It helps us get on well with people from other countries.
1. The writer went to ________ last summer.
A.America B.England C.Japan D.India
2. When ordering food in England, we should ________ to be polite.
A.say “I want…” B.say “Could I have…, please?”
C.shout to the waiter D.not say anything
3. Mr. Brown greeted the writer by ________.
A.shaking hands B.bowing C.kissing on the cheek D.hugging
4. In England, people open gifts immediately to ________.
A.show they like the gifts B.hide the gifts
C.give the gifts back D.sell the gifts
5. What did the writer learn from his mistakes?
A.England is a boring country.
B.Cultural differences are not important.
C.We should learn about different cultures.
D.Chinese culture is better than English culture.
B 2. B 3. C 4. A 5. C

B
What things are acceptable when you are at the dinner table and what things are serious breaches (违反) of manners?
I will tell you some of the most important American table manners. When you sit down to eat, you should place the napkin (餐巾) across your lap. You should never talk with your mouth full and should chew (咀嚼) with your mouth closed. If someone asks you a question while you are chewing, you should finish chewing and then swallow the food before answering. You should never drop scraps (残羹剩饭) on the table. Instead, place them on a spare plate. Besides, only put food on someone else’s plate if they ask for it. And if they say they don’t want anything else to eat or drink, then you shouldn’t give them anything else. Never use your knife or fork to point at others because it is rude.
In China, I know it’s rude to point with your chopsticks. It’s common practice to place food into friends’ bowls and to put drinks in their glasses even after they have said they don’t want any more. It’s fine to drop the scraps onto the table. Besides, talking while you’re eating is okay.
Manners are different all over the world and can even be different in different parts of a country. Have you ever seen foreigners do anything impolite? Is there anything you have done that they might see as impolite?
1. What should you do first when you sit down to eat in America?
A.Give thanks. B.Clean the tableware(餐具).
C.Take a photo of the food. D.Place the napkin on the lap.
2. What does the underlined word “swallow” probably mean in Chinese in Paragraph 2?
3. What can we know from the passage?
A.American people don’t talk with others at the dinner table.
B.It is common to place food into a friend’s bowl in America.
C.American people like asking others to eat as much as possible.
D.It is rude to point with the tableware in America and in China.
4. What is the structure of the passage?(P-Paragraph)
A. B. C. D.
5. What is the best title for the passage?
A.Table Manners in America
B.How to Behave Well in China
C.American and Chinese Table Manners
D.Manners All over the World

For even more luck./Because they can get even more luck. 5. It helps the new adults get ready for the next part of their lives and learn to be independent.
例文:
Nowadays, many of the students depend too much on their parents in their lives. The parents always help their children do too many things, so more and more students are short of independence. I think it’s really important to develop independence. That’s because it can make us become bravely when we meet difficulties. So how to develop our independence? Here’s some advice.
First, we must study independently. We should finish our homework independently and make a study plan carefully. Besides, we should help our parents to do chores at home. I think doing housework can teach us how to look after ourselves. Finally, when we meet some problems, try our best to solve them by ourselves. It will make us become braver and cleverer.
All in all, I believe if we can keep doing these things, we will be more independent. Let’s study hard to be a independent student and get ready for the next year’s study.

A
Last summer, I went to visit my uncle in England.
