Part B 三、阅读理解 阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。 What subject do you worry about the most at school? For a large number of students, math tops the list. Some students are so troubled that they can􀆳t fall asleep the night before a math exam. Their minds are filled with worries about difficult problems. During the exam itself, others may feel extremely nervous, with their hearts beating fast and hands shaking. However, there might be an unexpected way to reduce this stress. “For students who are worried about math, posture(姿势) makes a big difference,” Erik Peper, a researcher from a university, told Daily Mail. It turns out that sitting up straight can be a game changer in math exams. Researchers carried out a test on 125 college students. They asked the students to take a math exam in two different postures: sitting in a slumped-over(萎靡的) position and sitting up straight. During the test, the students􀆳 expressions on their faces and body language clearly showed the difference. After the test, a significant 56% of the students reported that the exam seemed easier when they were sitting up straight. Slumping over is a defensive(戒备的) posture. It has the possibility to cause negative(消极的) memories in both the body and the brain. These bad connections can mess up your thinking and stop you from thinking clearly about math problems, as Peper explained. On the other hand, students who were not too nervous about the math exam didn􀆳t necessarily get an advantage from better posture. But interestingly, they still found that doing math in a slumped-over position was more challenging, as reported by Science Daily. Good posture isn􀆳t just helpful for math exams. Musicians can find that sitting or standing properly helps them play more smoothly and expressively. Sports players can improve their performance by keeping an upright standing posture. Public speakers can get more attention and project confidence. When you􀆳re feeling stressed, try sitting up straight or standing tall. It can change your feelings, making you feel more positive(积极的) and enabling you to focus better. So, next time you have a math exam or face a stressful situation, remember the power of good posture. 1.According to paragraph 2, what can help students do better in math exams? A.Studying harder. B.Sitting up straight. C.Slumping over. D.Taking deep breaths. 2.How many of the college students had a good change in the math exam? A.70. B.56. C.125. D.35. 3.What can we learn from paragraph 3? A.Good posture helps relaxed students more. B.Negative memories don􀆳t affect problem-solving. C.Slumping over affects body memories only. D.Even relaxed students􀆳 math performance is harmed by bad posture. 4.What is the value of Erik Peper􀆳s research? A.It helps all kinds of people get famous. B.It helps stressed people perform better. C.It makes students start to like math. D.It makes math exams more challenging. 5.What is the text mainly about? A.Math is a hard subject for students. B.How to reduce stress before math exams. C.Good posture can make a difference. D.The importance of posture in keeping healthy. 四、阅读七选五 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Have you ever come home from a vacation feeling more tired than you were before you left? 1. However, as they rush from one place to another, they aren􀆳t really able to take a good rest.  Now, imagine living for a week in a little French apartment, buying fresh vegetables from the local market every morning, and taking day trips to neighboring villages at your own pace. Does this sound great to you? That􀆳s the magic of slow travel. This is no “four-cities-in-seven-days” tour of Europe. 2.     Slow travel can mean taking a bike tour from one village to the next. 3. It can also mean covering long distances by train instead of by air so that you can enjoy the scenery(风景) along the way. No matter how you do it, the key is to slow down. You are to make the most of each moment of your vacation.  Slow travel has a few advantages. It allows you to form a stronger connection to your destination. You will stay in one place long enough to make friends with your neighbors and even pick your favorite coffee house. You will really take a break from your stressful life. 4. Airplanes cause lots of pollution. Trains, bikes and your own feet are better for the environment. Slow travel also saves you money. Staying in one place for a week reduces your transportation costs. Besides, you may cook your own food instead of eating out for every meal.  Sounds great? 5.     A.If you do feel tired, you􀆳d better not go abroad on vacation. B.Instead, you will really slow down and experience new cultures. C.The next time you take a trip, remember to try it in the slow way. D.The true meaning of travel is to visit as many places as possible. E.Slow travel is environmentally friendlier than other types of travel. F.It can mean driving along back roads instead of taking the highway. G.Through traveling, most people expect a break from their stressful lives. 五、完形填空 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 【原创题】Dorje Gogh, a 14-year-old boy, had a dream—to become a great pianist, though he couldn􀆳t even 1 to buy a piano.    When someone reported him later, Dorje said, “Although facing many difficulties, I 2 every penny I could from my part-time jobs.” Later, with his parents􀆳 limited support, he 3 to buy an inexpensive and broken piano. “It wasn􀆳t the best, with some keys missing, but it was enough for me to start.” Every day after school, Dorje would rush to his room with excitement.
