例文:
Giving a Hand to Others
Last month, I volunteered at a community center to help elderly people learn to use smartphones. At first, they struggled with even basic functions like making video calls. I sat beside Grandma Li, showing her step by step how to connect with her grandson who worked in another city. When the boy’s face appeared on the screen, Grandma Li’s eyes filled with tears—and I felt a warm joy I’d never experienced before.
Helping others isn’t just about doing a favor. It builds connections and makes the world a warmer place. It teaches me to be patient and grateful for what I have.
In the future, I’ll collect storybooks for rural kids and record audio for those who can’t read well. Small kindnesses, I think, can make a big difference.

Dozens of humanoid robots (人形机器人) from Unitree became “kung fu masters” and performed alongside young martial artists from the Tagou Martial Arts School.

Preparing for this program was far from easy. The technical team spent over a month 3 the 600-square-meter stage. They used lasers to create a 3D ____18____ of the area so that each robot could “know” its exact position. “The most difficult part was to make the robots move fast and stay ____19____ at the same time,” said Wang Xixing, the founder of Unitree.
To make the robots perform complex movements like humans, the team had to “teach” them. The young martial arts students played a very important ____20____ in this process. At first, the students were a little bit ____21____ of the powerful machines. But soon, they started working together. They would show the movements first, and then the engineers would input the data into the robots. “It felt like teaching a new classmate kung fu,” one student said with a ____22____.
One of the most ____23____ moments in the show was when a robot “got drunk” and performed “Drunken Fist” (醉拳). This interesting idea came from an accident during rehearsal (彩排). Wang Xixing said that the goal was not just to create an exciting performance, but to push technology forward. “If robots can do such difficult actions on a big stage with loud music and bright lights, they can surely do ____28____ jobs in our daily lives,” he explained. In the future, these robots might help us in factories, do housework, or even ____29____ the elderly.

There is something all around you, but you can’t see it. You can’t stay alive without breathing it in. What is it? It’s air!
Air is a mixture of gases. It’s something we can’t see, but it’s made up of very tiny molecules. These molecules are spread out and keep moving all the time.
Air molecules move differently as the temperature changes. When air gets warmer, the molecules become more active and move farther apart. Warmer air takes up more space because the molecules move farther apart. However, when air gets cooler, the molecules move more slowly and come closer together. Cooler air occupies less space because the molecules move closer together.
Here is an experiment (实验) that shows this. First, take a balloon and stretch (拉伸) it over the mouth of an empty bottle. Next, put it in hot water. Does the balloon swell (膨胀) up? Now, move it into cold water. You will see the balloon get smaller.
When the air molecules heat up, they become more spread out. This makes the air inside the bottle swell. It moves out of the bottle and fills up the balloon. However, when the molecules get colder, they move closer together. So, the air goes back into the bottle.

On a freezing December day in Tongxin County, Ningxia, the quiet winter air was suddenly broken by screams—a 4-year-old boy had fallen through the ice into the icy lake! People rushed to the edge, hearts sinking, but no one dared step onto the cracking surface.
At that critical moment, 13-year-old Li Jiating, a seventh-grade student, stepped forward bravely. “I’m light—I’ll go!” she said. She took a long pipe handed to her by a bystander and crawled (爬) carefully toward the ice hole. As she reached out to give the pipe to the boy, the ice broke again. Both she and the boy fell into the freezing water.
But Li Jiating didn’t let go. She held tightly onto the pipe until adults on the shore pulled her out. Soon after, firefighters arrived and rescued the boy. Soaked and shivering, Li Jiating quietly rode her bike home without saying a word.
Her father asked about her wet clothes, and she smiled and “lied”: “A water truck splashed me!” It wasn’t until 11 p.m. that night, when his sister called, that the father learned the truth. “I’m scared and sad, but also proud of her kindness,” he said.
The boy’s parents were very grateful. They posted messages to find the “unknown hero” and visited Li Jiating with gifts and money. Though Li Jiating refused the money, they left fruits and a sheep. “This is our sincere thanks,” the boy’s father said.
Many honors came to her. Her school named her “A Good Youth with Courage and Kindness”. The county government gave her prize, and the hospital offered her free physical exams for life. Alibaba also gave her a 5,000-yuan award (奖励).

As the 2026 Chinese New Year gets closer, two important cultural notices have been made for it.
◆The mascot (吉祥物) for the 2026 Happy Chinese New Year global events
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism introduced “Lucky Horse” as the official mascot. Its design takes ideas from the Eastern Han Dynasty bronze horse “Horse on a Flying Swallow”, which was found in Gansu Province. The design also uses the beautiful horse hair of the famous Tang Dynasty “Five-Flower Horse”.
The mascot is mainly red—a traditional color for Chinese festivals—with classic patterns like clouds and ruyi (a lucky symbol). China Tourism Group will make it into different products, such as soft toys, blind boxes, red envelopes and lanterns. These products will appear in global Chinese New Year events to add new cultural elements.
◆The theme (主题) of the Spring Festival Gala (春晚)
The Spring Festival Gala is a loved tradition for Chinese families around the world. Since 1983, it has been the world’s most-watched TV program, according to Guinness World Records.
China Media Group set the gala’s theme as “Galloping Steed Onward Unstoppable” for the Year of the Horse. The key idea of this theme is “Qi Ji”, which means “steed”, a fast horse in ancient China. It shows the Chinese nation’s spirit of starting new things and moving forward. Interestingly, “Qi Ji” also sounds like the word for “miracle” in Chinese, expressing confidence in achieving national goals.
The theme comes from Li Sao, an old poem in Songs of Chu, which talks about riding a good horse to lead the way. The gala’s logo combines cloud patterns and thunder patterns to form four running horses side by side. ______ It can be changed and repeated in different ways, showing ten thousand horses running powerfully. This design has traditional beauty and the energy of a fast-changing time.

39.What is the Chinese meaning of “Galloping Steed Onward Unstoppable”?
A.骐骥驰骋 势不可挡 B.骏马奔腾 快乐无限
C.奇迹飞奔 好运连连 D.快马加鞭 梦想成真
40.Why do cloud patterns appear in both the mascot and the gala’s logo?
A.To look modern and natural for everyone.
B.To keep costs low and look more beautiful.
C.To copy clouds from the Han Dynasty bronze horse.
D.To make the events show Chinese traditional culture.
41.Which of the following can be put into ______?
A.The poem Li Sao is one of the most famous in Chinese history.
B.The gala’s logo is not only beautiful but also meaningful.
C.That’s why the horse was chosen as the mascot for the year.

What would you do if you walked up to a robot with a human-like head and it smiled at you first? You’d likely smile back. But how does a robot know that you will smile back? Now, Hod Lipson at Columbia University and his team have created a robot called Emo that can predict (预测) someone will smile about 0.9 seconds before they do, and smile at the same time.
Emo is able to make different facial expressions (面部表情). The AI-driven robot has cameras in the eyes, and it uses one AI model to look at human faces and predict their facial expressions, and the other to work out how to make expressions on its own face.
To train the robot, the team put Emo in front of the camera and let it do lots of movements. After a few hours, the robot learned the relationship between its facial expressions and the computer commands (指令). This is what the team calls “self-modeling”.
Then the team played videos of human facial expressions for Emo to watch carefully. After studying, Emo could predict people’s facial expressions by catching tiny variations in their faces before they were about to smile.
The team is now working to put a large language model like ChatGPT into Emo. As robots become more like humans, we are moving closer to a future where talking to a robot is as easy as talking to a friend.
42.The writer starts this passage by ______.
A.listing numbers B.telling a story C.using a saying D.asking a question
43.What does Emo use to look at human faces and predict expressions?

D.However, designing a good logo is not an easy task at all.

I feel really sad these days because of the English test last week. I didn’t do well in it. And my parents were a little angry. My English teacher said that I was poor at listening. So I asked him for help. He gave me some suggestions to improve my listening skills. Firstly, before listening I need to relax. I shouldn’t get nervous or excited. Secondly, listen carefully to the first sentence. The first sentence tells a lot about the whole passage. Thirdly, when I’m listening, I should try to do some thinking. This way I may understand the passage better. Fourthly, listen for just the key words. Finally, don’t think about one or two words for too long. I may hear some words that I don’t know but I shouldn’t spend too much time on them or I’ll miss more. I hope I can get good grades in the English test next Friday.

The robot suddenly fell down, ____24____ it got up immediately with a cool move. The director found it so interesting that they decided to ____25____ it in the final show.
The robots also showed amazing team spirit. They could change formations (队形) quickly ____26____ running at high speed.

【答案】
