Wang Mei: It’s me! Today is Monday, March 1. The temperature will reach 15℃ by noon and drop to 2℃ at night. Overall, it will be a warm, cloudy day.
Ms Liu: Well done, Wang Mei. The days are getting longer, and spring is
coming. We have a school project on March 12. Can you guess
what it is?
Li Ming: Is it tree planting?
Ms Liu: Good guess. Do you know how to plant trees?
Li Ming: Yes. I learned to plant trees when I visited my uncle last spring. It
was so much fun.
Ms Liu: Could you tell us the steps for planting trees?
Li Ming: Sure. First, dig a large hole. Then, place the seedling inside the hole, and cover its roots with soil. Finally, press down on the soil. Oh, don’t forget to water the tree.

Song Hua: Trees help protect the soil from rainfall.

辨析:reach, arrive 与get to
相同点 不同点
reach 均可表示“到达” 及物动词,直接接宾语(地点) ,不接介词。
arrive 不及物动词,接宾语时必须加介词:接大地点(国家、城市等) 用arrive in;接小地点(车站、学校等) 用arrive at。
get to 及物动词短语,若后面的地点是副词(如here/there/home) ,则不加to。
by noon 意为“到中午之前”。“by + 时间”是一个常用的英语短语,表示“在……之前”或“到……为止”,强调某个动作或事件在某个时间点之前完成。这个短语通常用于表示截止时间或最后期限。
