A Wonderful Spring Festival in 2026
The 2026 Spring Festival brought me a wonderful memory as I participated in all kinds of celebrations in my hometown with my family.
In the morning of New Year’s Eve, we decorated the house with red lanterns, hoping for a prosperous new year. In the afternoon, we made dumplings filled with meat and cabbage, and had a reunion dinner in the evening. On the next day, we went to the temple fair, where we watched wonderful folk shows and tasted local snacks.
Not only did this festival let me enjoy sweet time with family, but it also made me deeply feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture. It was an unforgettable Spring Festival.
I stood on the starting line with Todd together.Heart pounding with excitement and nervousness, my palms sweated and my legs trembled. As the gun fired, we dashed forward like arrows. I followed Todd closely behind. Gradually I felt more and more tired and couldn’t keep up. Just at that time, Todd glanced back with an encouraging smile and shouted,“Come on!” Hearing his voice, I seemed to regain my strength and tried to speed my pace. With sweat and effort, we crossed the finish line at last and we both won.
After the race, Todd and I went on to the winner’s stage. We grinned at each other breathlessly, our faces glowing with great joy. When we were awarded, our classmates cheered enthusiastically from below and our teacher gave us a big thumb-up. Seeing the thrilling scene, I felt a sense of pride welled up in my heart. I gave Tedd a tight hug and said gratefully,“Thank you so much!” I knew this wasn't just a matter of winning or losing; it was about finding the courage to challenge myself through my friend’s encouragement, which also brought honor to our class.

A 篇
根据 Temperate Climate部分的“They have four clear seasons(winter, spring, autumn, summer)and frequent weather changes because of storms.”
根据 Equatorial Climate部分的“An equatorial climate is marked by hot and wet air. Air temperature remains stable(稳定的)(+24℃ — +28℃)and rainfall is rich throughout the year(1, 500 to 5, 000 mm).”和Tropical Climate部分的“Temperatures change from +20℃ on the coast to +50℃ inland, with large daily variations — reaching +40℃ — +45℃ in summer afternoons and dropping to +10℃ — — +15℃ at night.”
根据第一段“My family would describe me as anything but a risk-taker. “Grandma drives faster than you!” my younger son likes to joke with me. (我的家人会把我描述成一个不喜欢冒险的人。“奶奶开车都比你快!”“我小儿子喜欢跟我开玩笑。)”可知,作者的家人认为作者过去很享受自己的舒适区。
25.答案 A 词句猜测题。根据划线词上文“After the coach showed various escape skills, I found myself questioning my presence in such a setting. However, in the next second, I reminded myself that I had set out this journey to explore the furthest part of my abilities
根据第三段“As the oldest female in the class, I push myself to keep up, try harder and, more importantly, not quit. (作为班上年龄最大的女性,我督促自己跟上,更加努力,更重要的是,不要放弃。)”可知,作者依靠永不放弃,最终收获了自信和勇气。
27.答案 C 推理判断题。根据第一段“My family would describe me as anything but a risk-taker. “Grandma drives faster than you!” my younger son likes to joke with me. (我的家人会把我描述成一个不喜欢冒险的人。“奶奶开车都比你快!”“我小儿子喜欢跟我开玩笑。)”和最后一段“As for my driving, after a recent lunch date, my mom suggested I speed up to at least the speed limit. She didn’t want to be late for her tennis match.
根据第二段中“In a recent Wall Street Journal article, technology policy expert Alec Ross argued that, within ten years or so, we would be able to communicate with one another through small earpieces with built-in microphones.( 在《华尔街日报》最近的一篇文章中,技术政策专家亚历克·罗斯认为,在十年左右的时间里,我们将能够通过内置麦克风的小耳机彼此交流。)”
根据文章第四段“It’s so hard for computers because translation doesn’t — or shouldn’t — be simply translating words, sentences or paragraphs. Rather, it’s about translating meaning. And in order to infer meaning from a specific expression, people need to understand a lot of information all at once. Think about all the related information that can help us understand what someone is trying to say: tone, body movements, situations, and even your culture. All are likely to express as much meaning as the words you use.(这对计算机来说很难,因为翻译不是——也不应该是——简单地翻译单词、句子或段落。相反,它是关于翻译意思。为了从一个特定的表达中推断出意思,人们需要同时理解大量的信息。想想所有能帮助我们理解别人想说什么的相关信息:语气、肢体动作、情境,甚至是你们的文化。所有这些都可能表达与你使用的单词一样多的意思。)”可推断出,计算机很难用一个词来替代它的同义词是因为它包含的内容远不止文字。
30.答案 A推理判断题。根据文章最后一段中“If people from different cultures can upset each other without realizing it, how can we expect a machine to do better? Unless engineers actually find a way to breathe a soul into a computer, when it comes to expressing and translating meaning using a natural language, a machine will never fully take our place.(如果不同文化背景的人都能在没有意识到的情况下惹恼对方,我们怎么能指望机器做得更好呢?
根据第三段中“In a recent study, researchers found that the ants travel in groups of three to twenty that move at nearly constant speeds while keeping distances between one another — and they don’t speed up to pass others.(在最近的一项研究中,研究人员发现,蚂蚁会以3到20只为一组行进,它们以几乎恒定的速度移动,同时保持彼此之间的距离,而且不会加速超过其他蚂蚁。)”
根据第四段中“But self-driving cars, if they one day become popular, would share information with nearby cars to make good use of traffic flow — perhaps, the researchers suggest, by prioritizing constant speeds or by not passing others on the road.(但研究人员表示,如果自动驾驶汽车有朝一日普及开来,它们会与附近汽车共享信息,以充分利用交通流量 — 或许可以通过优先保持恒定速度或不超车的方式实现。)”
根据第五段中“Ants can create a trail as wide as they like, unlike drivers stuck on highways. The insects do sometimes jam up when trapped in tunnels, but to keep things moving, ‘ they’ll find a way to walk on the ceiling, ‘ she says. Plus, ants don’t crash; they can literally walk over one another.(与被困在高速公路上的司机不同,蚂蚁可以开辟任意宽度的行进路线。她说,这些昆虫有时在被困隧道时也会出现拥堵,但为了保持通行,’它们会想办法爬到隧道顶部行走’。此外,蚂蚁不会发生碰撞,它们真的可以从彼此身上爬过去。)”可知,蚂蚁与自动驾驶汽车的不同之处在于其灵活的通行方式和防撞能力。
35. 答案 D主旨大意题。根据第一段中“Researchers are studying their cooperative strategies to learn how to program self-driving cars that don’t jam up.(研究人员正在研究它们的协作策略,以探索如何为自动驾驶汽车编写程序,避免交通拥堵。)”以及文章整体内容,尤其是最后一段中引述的观点“Today’s drivers can learn at least one thing from ants, Nishinari says, ’by leaving room between their car and the one ahead, drivers can absorb a wave of braking in dense traffic conditions that would otherwise be amplified into a traffic jam.

A
Climate is greatly different across the globe, with clear features shaping different regions. Here
are four main types:
Temperate Climate
Temperate climates lie in temperate latitudes(纬度)(40°一45°north and south of the equator
to polar circles).Northern hemisphere (temperate zones are mostly land, while 98%of the
southern hemisphere's is ocean. They have four clear seasons(winter, spring, autumn, summer)and
frequent weather changes because of storms.Average temperatures are below 0'C in the coldest
month and above +15C in the warmest.Snow covers the ground in winter, with rainfall and
snowfall ranging from 100 mm inland to 1,000 mm on coasts.
Equatorial Climate
An equatorial climate is marked by hot and wet air.Air temperature remains stable (
(+24C-+28C)and rainfall is rich throughout the year (1,500 to 5,000 mm).Rain falls faster
than evaporation ()leaving soil full of water and supporting dense rainforests. It is found in
northern South America, the Gulf of Guinea coast, the Congo River basin, parts of Indonesia, and
near ocean areas.
Tropical Climate
A tropical climate is ruled by high-pressure anticyclones,a weather system built around high air
pressure, bringing clear weather most of the year.It has two seasons:warm and cold.Temperatures
change from +20C on the coast to +50'C inland, with large daily variations-reaching +40C-
+45C in summer afternoons and dropping to +10C-+15C at night.Deserts, deciduous forests,
and savannas,a wet and dry season, are common.Regions include Mexico,North and South Africa,
Central Australia,and the Arabian Peninsula.
Polar Climate
A polar climate is found north of 70 latitude (Arctic)and south of 65 latitude (Antarctic)
Polar air masses dominate year-round,with polar nights(months without sunlight)and polar
days(months with non-setting sun).Snow and ice reflect heat,keeping air very cold-summer
averages below 0C and winter between-20C and-40C.High air pressure brings weak winds and
few clouds,with little snowfall.

23.Where is the text most likely taken from?
A.A scientific report on climate change.
B.A novel about adventure in rainforests.
C.A travel blog introducing tourist attractions.
D.A geography textbook for high school students.

My family would describe me as anything but a risk-taker."Grandma drives faster than you!"
my younger son likes to joke with me.So when I announced I was going to step outside my comfort
zone and sign up for a self-defense course,my children,my husband, and even my mom were a bit
doubtful.
A gym near my house was offering two-hour classes including boxing, wrestling and judo
)I signed up for it and for the next days I questioned whether yoga would have been a wiser
choice. The morning ofthe class,I pulled up to the gym, grabbed my water bottle along with a bit of
courage I brought with me,and walked inside. We learned how to kick and knee someone where it
counts and how to strike using the palms of our hands. After the coach showed various escape skills,
I found myself questioning my presence in such a setting. However,in the next second,I
reminded myself that I had set out this journey to explore the furthest part of my abilities and to
challenge the boundary of what I believed I was able to achieve.
Before I entered the gym,I never imagined I would have the confidence and courage to throw a
blow that could discourage someone twice my size.Almost two years later,I still attend classes. As

the oldest female in the class,I push myself to keep up,try harder and, more importantly, not quit
Between increasing my strength and feeling confident about protecting myself (although I
hope I never have to test my skills outside of the gym),I'm proud of the risk I took in signing up
for the course.I know that defending myselfis not about strength,it's about strategy. At the same
time,I'm calmer and less anxious-a benefit my family enjoys.
As for my driving, after a recent lunch date,my mom suggested I speed up to at least the speed
limit. She didn't want to be late for her tennis match.
24.How did the author's family think of her according to paragraph 1?

B.Honor.
C.Aim.
D.Record.
26.What contributes to the success of the author?
A.Strategies from the classmates.
B.Her never giving up.
C.Encouragement from the family.
D.Skills from the coach
27.What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A.The training leads to better control in daily life
B.Mom is still worried about the author's driving ability
C.Calmness gained from training increases mom's confidence in me.
D.Self-defense training prevent the author from arguments with her families.

Have you ever imagined travelling to a foreign country without having to worry about the
headache of communicating in a different language?
In a recent Wall Street Journal article, technology policy expert Alec Ross argued that, within
ten years or so,we would be able to communicate with one another through small earpieces with
built-in microphones. That's because technological progress is extremely fast. It's only a matter of
time.Just as a "clever personal helper"like Siri or Alexa is getting better at understanding what you
say, there is no reason to think that the future will not bring a"personal assistant translator".
Nevertheless, translating is an altogether different task compared with finding the nearest
Starbucks, because machines aim for perfection and reasonability, while languages-humans-
are always imperfect and unreasonable.Replacing a word with its equivalent (in the target
language is actually the easy part of a translator's job.But this seems to be a tricky job for
computers.
It's so hard for computers because translation doesn't-or shouldn't-be simply translating
words, sentences or paragraphs.Rather,it's about translating meaning. And in order to infer
meaning from a specific expression, people need to understand a lot of information all at once.
Think about all the related information that can help us understand what someone is trying to say:
tone, body movements, situations, and even your culture. All are likely to express as much meaning
as the words you use.
Therefore,we should doubt whether a machine can truly understand our world like we do.If
people from different cultures can upset each other without realizing it,how can we expect a
machine to do better?Unless engineers actually find a way to breathe a soul into a computer, when
it comes to expressing and translating meaning using a natural language,a machine will never fully
take our place.

A.By using personal computers for translation widely.
B.By employing small earpieces with built-in microphones.
C.By hiring a clever personal helper like Siri or Alec Ross.
D.By turning to machines instead of human translators completely
29.Why is it hard for computers to replace a word with its equivalent?
A.Because computers can't infer the cultural meaning.
B.Because a man's soul hasn't been breathed in them.
C.Because translation covers much more other than words.
D.Because it is different from finding the nearest Starbucks.
30.What's the author's attitude towards the machine technology?
A.Doubtful.
B.Unclear
C.Indifferent
D.Supportive.
31.Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A.The Difficulty of Translation.
B.How to be a Better Translator?
C.Travel without Language Headache.
D.Will Technology End Language Trouble?

From an airplane, cars crawling down the highway look like ants. But actual ants-unlike cars
-somehow manage to avoid the stop-and-go traffic.Researchers are studying their cooperative
strategies to leamn how to program self-driving cars that don't jam up.
The free flow of traffic becomes unstable as the density (of cars increases on a highway.
At 15 vehicles per mile per lane, one driver applying his brake can cause a wave of congestion
挤).“It's a kind of phase transition(相变),”like water turning from a liquid to a solid form, says
Katsuhiro Nishinari,a mathematical physicist.
His previous research had shown that ants can maintain their flow even at high densities. So
what's their secret? In a recent study, researchers found that the ants travel in groups of three to
twenty that move at nearly constant speeds while keeping distances between one another-and
they don't speed up to pass others.
Human drivers at rush hour rarely follow such rules."We're maximizing the interests of
individuals,which is why,at a given point,you start to have a traffic jam,"says study co-author
Nicola Pugno. But self-driving cars,if they one day become popular, would share information with
nearby cars to make good use of traffic flow-perhaps,the researchers suggest,by prioritizing
先考虑)constant speeds or by not passing others on the road.
Ants can do numerous things that self-driving can't,Pinter Wollman points out.Ants can create
a trail as wide as they like, unlike drivers stuck on highways. The insects do sometimes jam up
when trapped in tunnels, but to keep things moving,"they'll find a way to walk on the ceiling,"she
says.Plus, ants don't crash;they can literally walk over one another.
Today's drivers can leamn at least one thing from ants,Nishinari says,"by leaving room between
their car and the one ahead, drivers can absorb a wave of braking in dense traffic conditions that
would otherwise be amplified(增强)into a traffic jam.”
32.What enables ants to keep smooth traffic flow even at high densities?
A.Central command system.
B.Cooperative group interaction.
C.Quick speeding-up ability.
D.Advanced navigation(导航)tools

33.How could self-driving cars potentially copy ants'traffic strategies?
A.Road expansion.
B.Complete avoidance of braking.
C.Inter-vehicle data sharing networks.
D.Prioritizing top speed achievement.
34.In which aspect are ants different from self-driving cars?
A.Travelling in groups of 3 to 20.
B.Traffic rule observation.
C.Computer-controlled decision making.
D.Flexible navigation and crash avoidance.
35.What would be the most appropriate title for the text?
A.The Psychology Behind Human Traffic Congestion.

38."Omega-3 fatty acids, found in oily fish, play a role in the structure and function of
cell membranes(细胞膜)in the brain,.”the nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert says. They are involved
in the production and signaling of neurotransmitters(神经递质),which are critical for mood
regulation."
And breathe
Your gut is impacted not just by what you eat but by how you eat.Lisa Macfarlane,co-founder
of the health company The GutStuff,explains,"39.Try taking deep breath before you eat-
it's proven that digestion happens more effectively when eating in a relaxed and calm state."
Join the fast crowd

The school's sports meeting was coming, but in our class, everyone, including me,
wouldn't like to try when facing the long-distance running event. We found helplessness in the
teacher's eyes.Though she tried to raise our sense of honor and the courage to challenge ourselves,
all of us chose to be silent.
Just as the teacher was about to give up the event,a familiar voice came:"Tim and I sign up
for the long race!"I seemed to hear my heartbeat racing.Me?Long run?How is this possible?I had
never been in a running race.I looked up sharply and fixed my eyes on my best fiiend Todd, who
was smiling to me.I...I have never been..."I murmured.Before I could finish,he came over,patted
me gently on the shoulder, and said:"Don't be afraid.I'll help you."Then the classroom suddenly
burst into cheers. At that moment, the fear in my heart was quickly replaced by a strong sense of
responsibility.
In the days that followed,Todd became my"coach".He carefully made a training plan and
spent all our spare time on the playground. We practised a lot, sweated together and ran faster and
faster.Every time I wanted to give up,Todd would encourage me with a smile,"If you are tired,
