情境导入(Lead-in) (5min)
1. Show pictures and questions, and guide students to talk about shopping for their meals.
Write the topic “Grammar: Quantifiers & How many.../How much...” on the blackboard, guide students to circle quantifiers and “How many/How much” structures from the sentences.
1. Observe pictures, describe the shopping content in simple English.
2. Circle key grammar-related words and sentence patterns, read new words with the teacher, and clarify the learning theme.
通过购物生活化场景激活学生已有知识,直观引入核心语法点,让学生初步感知语法在实际生活中的应用,为后续学习奠定基础。
效果评价:师评。观察学生能否参与场景描述,是否能关注到目标语法点,了解其对量词的初步认知情况。
Step 2
量词学习(Quantifiers)(16min)
Activity 1: Observe and Summarize
1. Show pictures and sentences in Activity 1, guide students to circle quantifiers, discuss the collocation rules in groups.
2. Present a classification table, summarize the rules of exact quantifiers (numeral + quantifier + of + noun) and their collocations with countable/uncountable nouns.
Activity 2: Sentence Matching
1. Give the sentence matching task in Activity 2, ask students to work in pairs to match the front and back parts of sentences with quantifiers.
2. Invite pairs to show the answers and explain the quantifier collocations.
Activity 3: Text Reading & Table Completion
1. Show the text about Xiao Lin’s shopping in Activity 3, guide students to circle quantifiers and fill in the table about what different people buy.
2. Let students retell the text according to the table, strengthen the application of quantifiers in discourse.
1. Circle quantifiers, discuss and summarize their collocation rules in groups, and record confusing points.
2. Work in pairs to finish the sentence matching, check each other's answers and explain the reasons for quantifier choice.
3. Read the text independently, circle quantifiers and fill in the table, then retell the text with partners.

Activity 1: Dialogue Observation
1. Present the pair dialogue in Activity 1, guide students to circle the “How many/How much” structures and discuss their usages.
2. Summarize the core rules: How many + countable plural nouns (ask quantity); How much + uncountable nouns (ask quantity) / alone (ask price).
Activity 2: Table Carding
1. Distribute table templates, ask students to complete Activity 2: fill in the modified objects and application scenarios of How many.../How much....
2. Organize a group competition: the group that completes accurately the fastest wins the “Grammar Star”.
Activity 3: Dialogue Completion & Role-play
1. Guide students to complete the shopping dialogue in Activity 3 with How many/How much.
2. Let students practice the dialogue with partners, and then do the fill-in-the-blank exercises about the structure.
1. Read the dialogue aloud, mark the “How many/How much” structures, and summarize their core usage rules.
2. Fill in the table, check answers in groups, and participate in the competition to consolidate knowledge.
3. Complete the dialogue independently, check with deskmates and practice the role-play, then finish the relevant fill-in-the-blank exercises.

1. Shopping Role-play: Group students into customers and salespersons, ask them to make a shopping dialogue in the supermarket, requiring at least 3 quantifiers and 2 “How many/How much” sentences.
2. Challenge Exercises: Give multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank exercises, let students finish them quickly and check the answers together.
1. Prepare and perform the shopping role-play in groups, listen carefully to others' dialogues and record the application of core grammar points.
2. Participate in the quick answer of exercises actively, check answers and correct mistakes in time.
