[长白山火灾与生态修复]In 1987, a severe wildfire broke out in Changbai Mountain, a famous nature reserve in northeastern China. The fire started in early May, caused by dry weather and strong winds. It spread quickly, burning through forests and grasslands.
Local firefighters and soldiers rushed to put out the fire. They worked day and night, using tools to dig firebreaks and stop the flames from spreading. Many volunteers also joined in, carrying water and supplies to the front lines. The fire was finally controlled after more than 20 days of hard work.
The wildfire damaged a large area of forest, including some rare trees and plants. However, thanks to the efforts of rescuers, no people were killed. After the fire, the government started a reforestation program. Over the years, new trees were planted, and the ecosystem slowly recovered. Today,Changbai Mountain remains a beautiful place with rich wildlife.

Minqin County is a place in Gansu Province. For a long time, it had very bad sandstorms, especially in spring. Strong winds would bring big clouds of sand. 1._ Kids couldn't go to school some days, and farmers' crops were covered in sand, which made them die.
2._ In Minqin, there was little rain, and too many animals ate the grass. This left the land dry and bare, so the wind could easily pick up the sand.
But things started to get better in the early 2000s.3._ First, they asked farmers to keep fewer animals, so the grass could grow back. The grass helped hold the soil down. Then, 4._ These trees grew tall and strong. When the wind blew, the trees slowed it down, so less sand was carried around.
All this hard work paid off! 5._ The air became cleaner. People could open their windows again, and kids played outside without masks. Now, Minqin is a greener place, with more grass and trees. It's no longer known for sandstorms, but for its hardworking people and beautiful new forests.
