(2) Help students to know safety knowledge and cultivate safety awareness. 教学重难点 1.Teaching Important Aims: (1) Master the vocabulary and phrases of this lesson. (2) Be able to give advice on the prevention of family accidents. 2.Teaching Difficult Points： Be able to use the affirmative and negative forms of imperative sentences. 教学过程 Step 1. Warming-up ◎Video Play T: We have talked about “safety” in this unit. Have you met any accidents in your everyday life? What kinds of accidents do you know. Ss: A traffic accident, a fire accident, an electricity accident, a sports accident, a poison accident, a water accident…… T: These accidents are very dangerous. And they are around us. Now let’s watch a video which is about a kitchen that is on fire. 设计意图：此环节通过视频及师生间的对话激发学生兴趣，导入本课的话题。“在家是否安全”。 Step 2. Pre-Reading ◎Predict and Vocabulary Learning : Ask the students to predict the content of whole passage based on the picture and the title. Then show students a house place and some pictures to learn the new words in this lesson: prevent, certain, baking, soda, scissors, knife, burn, slip… 设计意图：鼓励学生合理预测，锻炼学生思维能力，图片辅助记忆，帮助学生预热本课的词汇和句型，为下面课文的学习做好铺垫。 Step 3. While-Reading ◎Skimming: Ask students to skim the passage to get the main idea of the passage. 设计意图：验证预测是否合理，使学生对文章有基本的了解。 ◎Scanning and Presentation: Students need to find out the imperatives used in the passage. After reading let the students tell the structure of the imperatives. Then the teacher elaborated and summarized the related knowledge of imperative. 板书： Be careful with scissors and knives！→Be adj. … Open the books. →Do … / Please do … Don’t stand on chairs. →Don’t do … Never leave small children alone ...→Never do … 总结与拓展： Imperative祈使句常用来表示请求、命令、劝说、号召、警告等。 肯定句: 1. 以动词原形开头。 Come in, please. 2. 由let引导。 Let him have a rest. 否定式: 1.在动词原形前加don’t。 Don’t go out alone at night. 2. let sb. not do sth.  Let him not play computer games. 3. “No + v.-ing形式或可数名词复数形式”表示“禁止做某事”。 No parking!  No smoking! No photos! 设计意图：训练学生快速捕获关键信息能力和自主学习能力，引导学生发现并总结祈使句特点，并进行补充完善帮助学生掌握祈使句使用规则与方法。 ◎Listening and Reading：Read the article aloud after the recorder. 教师播放对话视频，播放一句，暂停一次，学生观看视频并跟读对话。 T：Boys and girls，it’s our reading time，please read after the video，and you should pay more attention to your pronunciation and intonation，try your best to imitate it，clear? 设计意图：本活动设计在读课文之后，学生对课文内容已经有了一定的了解，跟着视频大声朗读课文可以加深对文章的理解，并且对于学生的准确发音以及培养他们的语感有重要的作用。 ◎Carefully Reading: Ask students to read carefully and try to answer the questions below: (1) Why are the kitchen and the bathroom the two most dangerous rooms in the house? Because most accidents happen in the kitchen and the bathroom. (2) What are the safety tips to prevent accidents in the kitchen? Don’t stand on chairs. Don’t use water to put out kitchen fires. Be careful with scissors and knives. Don’t keep poisons in the kitchen. (3) What are the safety tips to prevent accidents in the bathroom? Never use electricity in the shower or bathtub. Be sure to keep the bathroom floor dry. (4) Why shouldn’t parents leave young children alone in the bath? Because children sometimes drown in bathtubs. 设计意图：帮助学生进一步理解课文内容，培养学生掌握良好阅读技能，提高学生阅读能力。 Step 4 After-Reading Group Discussion Since the students have understood the main information of the lesson, ask them to use the key words, phrases and the sentence pattern to discuss “What other accidents may happen in the classroom? And how can we prevent them?” T：Boys and girls! In today’s lesson we talked about how to keep safe at home. Several minutes later，I will ask your group leaders to come to the front to show your answers. Are you clear? Ss：Yes! Make a poster. What should you do to stay safe at home? Give more tips for home safety. Example： Be careful with hot water. Don’t climb trees or high walls. 设计意图：通过小组合作形式练习本节课所学的句型，说明在家怎样保持安全。为学生创建了成果展示与口语表达展示的平台，并将本课所学知识点升华为贴近实际生活的语言交际。在教学的过程中极大地激发了学生的兴趣与创造力。 Step 5 Summary ◎Summary Students summarize what they have learned today by themselves, and teacher gives some supplements. 1.The safety tips in the kitchen and in the bathroom. 2. Having a safety awareness and learning to prevent family accidents. 设计意图：通过总结活动，提升学生表达概括能力，并借此检验学生课堂学习成果，同时对课堂所学知识进行巩固，加深学生印象。 ◎Homework Write a short passage about how to stay safe in the classroom, please use the new words and phrases we have learned this lesson. T: Boys and girls, in this lesson, we learned about family safety. Our classroom is the place for us to study. We spend a lot of time in the classroom. Is there any danger in the classroom that we need to prevent?
