近三年全国卷及新高考卷中，纯时态结构选择题消失，取而代之的是在语篇中考查时态如何为叙事逻辑服务。以下几点是命题人设置考点的核心依据：

1. 过去完成时的“隐性对比”功能：当文中出现两个过去的动作，若其中一个明显更早且对后文有影响，必用过去完成时。如语法填空：“The young man, who ______ (work) as a volunteer for two years, helped the old lady.” 根据语境“helped”是过去，此前已经工作两年，故填 had worked。

2. 现在完成时的“影响/延续”与“经验”界限：现在完成时不再单纯考“标志词”，而是依靠上下文的“持续性/关联性”判断。例如：“Ever since he moved to the village, he ______ (feel) a sense of belonging.” 由 ever since + 一般过去时，主句用 has felt，强调延续至今。

3. 进行时态的背景画面功能：过去进行时在记叙文中设置故事背景，一般过去时推动情节。读后续写原文：“The sun was setting (set) and birds were singing (sing). Tom walked along the path.” 背景用进行时，主要动作用一般过去时。

4. 一般现在时的“评论性现在”与“真理”：科普说明文通篇现在时，但若在故事结尾升华观点，会突然转为现在时。“What matters is that we ______ (be) always part of a larger cycle.” 此处填 are，表示客观事实。
