[新职业智领未来]New Careers, New Chances
On 8 May 2025, China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security announced 17 new professions and 42 specialized roles, such as Generative AI System Testers(生成式人工智能系统测试员), Drone Fleet Planners(无人机群飞行规划员), and Crossborder Ecommerce Managers. These roles show a clear trend that digital innovation and personalized services, driven by technologies like AI and green energy, are changing industries.
The rise of new careers means the job market is becoming more dynamic. Traditional jobs are turning into specialized roles, such as Smart Warehouse Maintenance Technicians and Sleep Health Consultants, thus creating new opportunities for young people. At the same time, industries like AI and environmental science need skills in data analysis, robotics, and sustainability.
For high school students planning their futures, choosing majors that match new trends is important. Fields like AI engineering, healthcare management, sustainable energy are closely connected to these professions. For example, studying both computer science and environmental studies could lead to jobs in carbon emission analysis or smart farming. Universities now offer programs that mix technical skills with creative thinking, focusing on adaptability and problemsolving.
Lifelong learning is key. Fast technological changes mean people must keep updating their skills. Online courses in AI, digital marketing, or special areas like service dog training can give a competitive edge. Platforms offering short certifications(e.g. drone operation training)help professionals stay uptodate.
In conclusion, the changing job market emphasizes flexibility and new ideas. By choosing modern majors, learning diverse skills, and committing to lifelong learning, students can build successful futures.

(抚顺二模)Every year, wildfires destroy tens of thousands of square kilometres of forest land. People lose their homes. Some are hurt or even killed. Smokejumpers help to stop this.
Smokejumpers are special firefighters. Some fires are in hardtoreach places, such as in the middle of a mountain forest. These firefighters jump from planes or are lowered into those areas by helicopter(直升机).
When they arrive, smokejumpers first check the land and decide how to fight the fire. Their main duty is to prevent the fire from spreading until other firefighters arrive. Smokejumpers use shovels(铲子)or axes(斧头)to clear the land of burnable things, like dry grass and dead trees. They carry water with them, too, but not a lot.
Although most smokejumpers are men, more women are joining now. The most important factors(因素)are height and weight. Smokejumpers in the US, for example, must be between 54 and 91 kilograms. This way, they don't get blown away by the strong winds or get hurt when they land. Smokejumpers also need to know how to survive in the wild. In Russia, many smokejumpers know how to find food in the forest and can even make simple furniture from trees.
The work is dangerous, and the hours are long. But for these firefighters, smokejumping isn't just a job. They love being able to jump out of planes, fight fires and live in the forest. Wang Yaming is a 28yearold Chinese smokejumper. He says, “This is the best job for tough guys(硬汉).”
