Different people have different opinions. Some think that electronic pickled vegetables can stop people from eating. That’s because you may laugh along with a cartoon character and forget to eat.

You may have heard of some common sayings about food—but are they really true? Let’s look at what science and nutrition guides (营养指南) really tell us. ①
“Only fruit and vegetables are healthy foods.”
The human body needs to eat many different types of food to stay healthy. The Chinese Food Guide Pagoda shows us what food we should eat. While fruit and vegetables are healthy choices, it is just as important to eat foods from other food groups. Milk, for example, contains many nutrients (营养) and is good for our bones. We should include milk or dairy products in daily life. ②
“Eating fat makes you fat.”
Eating fat is important for keeping us healthy. It gives us energy and helps our body to take in nutrients. Not all fat makes us gain weight. Some fat can even encourage our body to lose weight. It is necessary to include some, but not too much, fat in our food to help our body work well. ③
“It’s OK to eat only what I like while I’m young.”
When we are young, it might feel like we can just eat whatever we want! For example, sweets and fried foods taste delicious. But we cannot eat those foods alone. Eating balanced meals is very important when we are young. ④ Bad eating habits may stay with us our whole life, so it is best to develop good eating habits early!

A.Where to buy healthy foods. B.How to grow fruit and vegetables.

Before Lei Feng Day (March 5th), over 3,000 students from Liaodong College joined in volunteer work at communities, schools and public places.
Medical students worked at Dongyao community. They checked blood pressure and gave health advice. A junior student said, “Many old people didn’t know how to use smartphones to make doctor’s appointments, so we taught them step by step.” Students who volunteered in primary schools played games with kids and shared stories about Lei Feng. When a child asked why Lei Feng gave his food to others, Wang Tianbo, a student majoring in education, explained, “Lei Feng had a kind heart. He wanted everyone to be happy.” Volunteers in the library sorted books and cleaned the shelves. “Learning from Lei Feng should not be just a tradition for today or March—______.” said Zhou Yuyang, a second-year college student.
On March 4th, about 40 international students from over 20 countries, met in a classroom to watch a film about this famous Chinese role model. Sudi, a student from Kenya, was deeply moved by Lei Feng’s act of helping an old woman. He understood that Lei Feng’s spirit was shown in ordinary things. “No matter where we’re from, we can make the world a warmer place through our actions.” Sudi also thought about Lei Feng comparing himself to a “screw (螺丝钉)”. He said, “A small screw seems common, but it’s important for a machine to work well. I want to bring this spirit back to Kenya and practice it. It’s very useful for our social development.”
30.Where did student volunteers clean the book shelves?

第Ⅱ卷 非选择题(满分20分)
4、 阅读与表达(第34-36每题2分,第37题4分,共10分)
My Little Volunteer Magic
You may think magic is only in cartoons-like flying or making things become different. But I find real magic in my life: volunteer work. It is small, but it can make the world better.
This magic is easy to share. Every Saturday morning, I help clean the community park with my friends. We pick up plastic bottles (塑料瓶) and leaves. At first, I think it’s boring. But when I see kids running and playing on the clean grass, their parents smile and say “thank you” to us. I feel the magic at that time. This act of cleaning isn’t difficult, and it gives everyone a clean place to play and relax.
I also share this magic in my school’s after-class club. We help younger students with their homework every Wednesday afternoon. A little girl sometimes can’t work out her math question, and she cries quietly. I sit next to her and draw pictures to explain (解释) the numbers little by little. Later, she works out the question and jumps up happily. She says “You’re the best!” and gives me a paper flower. It makes me know my little volunteer magic can help others feel confident (自信的), too.
This magic also helps me talk to more people. I often go to the library because I love reading and enjoy helping others. Sometimes, old people come to find storybooks for their grandchildren. I help them look for the books they want. They tell me stories about their childhood-like how they play games in the street or read books by candlelight. I share my favorite book with them too. Now, I am more open. I can talk to different people easily
Volunteer work is not a fancy (花哨的), big kind of magic. For me, it is just about cleaning a park, teaching a kid math, or helping with books. Why don’t you try it? Share your “little volunteer magic” to help others. You will find that making others happy makes you happy too-and that is the most wonderful magic of all!
34.What does the writer do in the community park?
35.How does the writer help the little girl work out the math question?

34.根据第二段中“Every Saturday morning, I help clean the community park with my friends. We pick up plastic bottles and leaves.”可知,作者在社区公园帮助打扫卫生,捡塑料瓶和树叶。故填The writer helps clean the community park by picking up plastic bottles and leaves.
35.根据第三段中“I sit next to her and draw pictures to explain the numbers little by little.”可知,作者通过画图的方式逐步解释数字,帮助小女孩解决了数学问题。故填The writer sits next to the little girl and draws pictures to explain the numbers little by little.

When you read the word “pickled vegetables(榨菜)”, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Salty vegetables? That’s true. We usually eat them during the breakfast with porridge or noodles. Now, another similar word “electronic pickled vegetables(电子榨菜)” has arrived on the internet. Do you know what they are?
Well, electronic pickled vegetables are not something you can eat, but something you can watch! Sounds strange, many young people in China don’t have time to enjoy themselves or talk to their friends. Instead, they always eat alone. So they watch funny videos while eating. It’s like a friend telling you the best stories by your side. And these videos are called electronic pickled vegetables. They are usually short, such as cartoons, different kinds of shows or music.
Different people have different opinions. Some think that electronic pickled vegetables can stop people from eating. That’s because you may laugh along with a cartoon character and forget to eat.
However, others think they can make eating more enjoyable and less lonely. There is an interesting study showing that when you’re eating and watching videos at the same time, you can’t feel how full you are, and then you will eat more and get fat easily.
24.What do we usually eat for breakfast according to the text?
A.Porridge. B.Noodles. C.Pickled vegetables. D.All of the above.

27.What does the Chinese Food Guide Pagoda help people understand?
A.Where to buy healthy foods. B.How to grow fruit and vegetables.
C.Why dairy products are expensive. D.What food people should eat for health.
28.Where can we put the sentence “It helps our body and brain to grow well”?
A.① B.② C.③ D.④
29.What is the purpose (目的) of the passage?
A.To tell us the wrong facts about food. B.To introduce the history of Chinese food.
C.To describe how to prepare balanced meals. D.To make people eat more fruit and vegetables.
D
A.In a classroom. B.At Dongyao community.
C.In the library. D.In the primary school.
31.Which sentence can be put in the ______?
A.it should be learned by everyone B.it should be part of our daily lives
C.it’s a short-term activity at school D.it’s our duty to do volunteer work
32.What may Sudi probably agree?
A.Lei Feng’s spirit will not be useful in Kenya. B.Common people can play an important role.
C.Ordinary things don’t show Lei Feng’s spirit. D.It was strange to describe oneself as a screw.
33.Why does the writer write this passage?
A.To show why and how Lei Feng helped other people.
B.To ask people to do volunteer work on Lei Feng Day.
C.To compare different opinions about Lei Feng’s spirit.
D.To call on people to learn from Li Feng in daily lives.

36.Why does the writer often go to the library?
37.What “little volunteer magic” can you do? Why? (Please give at least two reasons.)
