Nowadays, money plays an important role in our daily life. Many people chase wealth, believing that more money means more happiness. However, an increasing number of teenagers are starting to rethink the real value of money.
With the development of society, teenagers have more chances to manage pocket money. Some spend without thinking, buying expensive snacks, toys and clothes just to follow fashion. They soon find that such pleasure is short-lived and meaningless. Others form good habits: saving regularly, planning budgets, and avoiding waste. They learn that money is a tool to meet needs, not a symbol to show off.
What’s more, many teenagers realize that the most valuable things in life cannot be bought with money. Love from family, care from friends, health, knowledge and good qualities are priceless. Spending time with family, helping others, and working hard to achieve dreams bring lasting satisfaction.
In fact, money itself is neither good nor bad. It depends on how we use it. Wise people use money to improve their lives and help people in need. Teenagers should learn to manage money properly, form a positive attitude, and understand that true wealth lies in a meaningful life rather than material gains.

Passage 1
(25-26高一上·湖南长沙·期末)As the winter holidays arrive and the cold weather encourages us to stay indoors, it’s a great time to learn about quantum mechanics (量子力学) through movies, TV shows and books. Many of them not only have fascinating plots but also feature scientific ideas worth exploring. Let’s look at three interesting examples.
Interstellar
Released a decade ago, Interstellar-amazed audiences with its stunning visuals and deep exploration of space and time. Set in a future where Earth faces serious disease and famine (饥荒), the movie tells the story of astronauts traveling through a wormhole, which could link distant spots in space and time, to find a new home for human beings. The movie touches on advanced scientific ideas, including quantum mechanics.
The Big Bang Theory
The Big Bang Theory, which first came out more than 10 years ago, quickly became a popular sitcom. Set in California, the show follows a group of quirky (古怪的) scientists dealing with their work, friendships and love lives. Known for its humor and clever use of science, the series’ makers often spoke to real physicists to keep its scientific details accurate. The show often deals with topics such as quantum mechanics and theoretical physics, with characters discussing difficult quantum physics ideas, and these science-driven conversations are what make the comedy so unique.
The Three-Body Problem
The science fiction novel by Liu Cixin paints a vast picture of the universe. It explores concepts such as quantum mechanics and multidimensional (多维度的) space. In the story, the “sophon” is a smart being developed by the Trisolarans (三体人) to hold back Earth’s scientific progress and monitor humans. It can communicate instantly across four light-years — an idea likely inspired by quantum mechanics. By mixing a creative storyline with scientific ideas, the novel lets readers enjoy an exciting adventure while imagining the endless possibilities of the universe.
1.What is the central theme of Interstellar?
A.Seeking a home beyond Earth. B.Exploring unknown space creatures.
C.Solving the secret of wormholes. D.Addressing an environmental problem.
2.What makes The Big Bang Theory special?
A.It focuses on quantum mechanics. B.It helps teenagers be better at science.
C.It mixes humor with real scientific talk. D.It includes real physicists as its characters.
3.What does the “sophon” in The Three-Body Problem mainly do?
A.Explore multidimensional space. B.Protect Earth from harm.
C.Block human scientific progress. D.Deliver messages between planets.
Passage 2
(25-26高一上·河北·期末)Picking foreign movies that US viewers might like is a big part of a film company s job. Maxime Cottray, the main operator at a studio, says,“The US market is hard for movies not in English. America did not grow up reading subtitles (字幕) or hearing dubbing (配音) like Europe did.” A new AI-driven dubbing tool may now make this step easier.
A recent Swedish sci-fi film, Watch the Skies, used AI — fed with its sound and picture — to make actors look as if they are speaking English. Its English version opened in 110 USAMC Theatres in May. “Without the dub, it would never have reached US screens,” Cottray says, noting it found a far wider crowd than the small audience it would have had otherwise. AMC plans more releases like this.
This kind of AI, built by London-based Flawless, shifts acting from one language to another. Mann, who made films like Heist, felt old dubbing lost the feeling of the original: “Classic dubbing feels off, acted in a different way — lower quality for world viewers.”
Flawless tech, rooted in 2018 research, uses face finding, face recognition, spot tracking and 3D mapping to keep the actor’s first take, saving cash and hours with no need to re-film. Watch the Skies was the first full film to get this visual dub. The tool can also drop in better takes or swap lines while keeping the mood the same.
The world dubbing market is set to rise from $4 bn in 2024 to $7.6 bn by 2033. Mann says cost shifts per job — about one tenth of other routes — and buyers include major streamers.
He feels the tech widens audiences. He says, “Great films and shows out there are just never watched by English speakers, because many skip dubbing and subtitles.” Mann adds, “It is not here to replace actors. It is simply a tool for creatives — power to make better art.”
1.Why is the US market tough for foreign language films?
A.American audiences prefer local films.
B.The dubbing quality of foreign films is poor.
C.Americans don’t accept subtitles or dubbing culturally.
D.Foreign language films are expensive for US theaters.
2.What did Scott Mann think of traditional dubbing?
A.It was expensive for small film projects. B.It didn’t match the original performances.
C.It couldn’t perfectly express original feelings. D.It was more popular among global viewers.
3.Which of the following is a feature of Flawless’ tech?
A.It relies on reshoots for accurate dubbing.
B.It lengthens production but cuts costs greatly.
C.It replaces original actors’ voices with AI-generated ones.
D.It combines technologies to keep the original.
4.What is the best title of the text?
A.The Difficulties of Foreign Films Entering the US Market
B.Traditional Dubbing vs. AI-driven Dubbing
C.The Growth of the Global Dubbing Market
D.AI-driven Dubbing: Opening New Doors for International Films
Passage 3
(25-26高一上·湖南邵阳·期末)China’s film market urgently needs a hit to draw audiences back to cinemas after a lackluster (平淡无奇的) few months. And an unexpected candidate looks set to fill that role: the Disney animated comedy Zootopia 2. Hollywood movies have underperformed in China over the past few years, but Zootopia 2 appears on track to break the curse. Its advance ticket sales have already surpassed 249 million yuan (US $35 million) — a record for a foreign animated film in China, according to box office tracker Dengta Data.
“Driven by several imported sequels-Zootopia 2, Demon Slayer and Avatar 3 — the film market in the final two months of 2025 is positioned for a resurgence to match the annual 50 billion yuan box office target,” Chen Jin, a data analyst at Dengta Data, told the China Business Journal. China’s film industry endured a tough 2024. This year, there has been a tentative recovery, with revenues so far this year reaching about 46 billion yuan, according to Maoyan, another ticketing platform. But the total remains well below 2023’s annual box office of 54.9 billion yuan, and the improvement has largely been driven by the success of one film: the domestic animation Ne Zha 2, which grossed a record 15.4 billion yuan after its release in January.
The hope is that imports like Zootopia 2 can revive the industry’s fortunes and-crucially-get young people back into cinemas. The proportion of cinema ticket buyers in China aged under 24 fell below 15 per cent in the first three quarters of 2025, according to data from Beijing-based consultancy Top Century. Zootopia 2 is not the only foreign film attracting attention in China. Avatar: Fire and Ash, set for a December release, is generating real buzz among Chinese viewers over the age of 35, who are old enough to remember the huge success the original Avatar film enjoyed in the country. Domestic animated films have also emerged as a major force in China in 2025: Ne Zha 2, Little Monsters of the Mountain and Boonie Bears: Future Reborn have all secured spots among China’s top 10 highest-grossing movies of the year so far, according to Mtime.com.
1.What achievement has Zootopia 2 made in China’s film market so far?
A.It has become the most successful Hollywood film in China in recent years.
B.Its advance ticket sales have set a new record for foreign animated films in China.
C.It has gained a total box office revenue of 249 million yuan in Chinese mainland.
D.It has attracted more young audiences than any domestic animated movie in 2025
2.What is the author’s attitude towards Zootopia 2’s influence on China’s film market?
A.Positive. B.Critical. C.Objective. D.Unconcerned.
3.What writing technique does the author mainly adopt to prove that China’s film market is in a tentative recovery in 2025?
A.Listing famous film directors. B.Quoting experts’ opinions.
C.Providing specific data. D.Comparing different film types.
4.Which of the following is the most appropriate title for the passage?
A.The Sharp Decline of China’s Film Market in 2024.
B.Zootopia 2 and the Recovery Trend of China’s Film Market.
C.The Dominant Role of Domestic Animated Films in 2025.
D.Hollywood Films’ Comeback in China’s Film Market.
Passage 4
(25-26高一上·浙江湖州·期末)American actor Marc Herrmann says he’s finally able to call himself a full-time working actor — thanks to Chinese micro dramas. He’s one of many Hollywood professionals finding opportunity as China’s short drama platforms gain popularity in the U.S. and reshape the global streaming (流媒体) market.
Behind the boom is the fact that China’s mini-drama industry has developed a complete ecosystem, reshaping the viewer market in film and TV with its “short, fast, and catchy” features. According to the 2024 White Paper on the Development of China’s Short Drama Industry, the American micro-short drama market reached 50.4 billion yuan (about $7.03 billion) last year, beating box office income for the first time. The success of Chinese short dramas overseas is not about spreading domestic (国内的) content, but about localized reinvention in themes and visual language for the overseas market.
Xu Wensong, an associate professor at the School of Cultural Industry Management at the Communication University of China, told us that Chinese short dramas are characterized by appealing storylines, an ability to deliver high emotional value and instant entertainment. With improving production quality, these short dramas hold a certain competitive edge in international markets. “Chinese platforms are good at adjusting content to local tastes”, Xu said.
Micro drama production has restructured the traditional logic of the film and television industry. A Hollywood film editor said that an increasing number of micro dramas funded by Chinese companies, developed by Chinese creative teams, and starring Hollywood actors are being produced in Los Angeles. This, he said, has “rescued” many Hollywood professionals who were on the brink of unemployment.
Sun Jiashan, an associate researcher at the Central Academy of Culture and Tourism Administration, noted that the overseas development of Chinese micro dramas symbolizes a significant practice of “cultural output in the digital age”. Sun believes that micro dramas may become an important tool for China’s cultural soft power, carving out a different path in the global streaming competition.
1.Why are Chinese short dramas successful overseas?
A.Because they meet local tastes.
B.Because they display domestic content.
C.Because they reshape the global streaming market.
D.Because they have developed a complete ecosystem.
2.According to Xu Wensong, which of the following is the characteristic of Chinese short drama?
A.Classic roles. B.Plain stories.
C.Emotional value. D.Localized settings.
3.What does the underlined phrase “on the brink of” in paragraph 4 probably mean?
A.Close to. B.Aware of. C.Confused about. D.Terrified of.
4.What might Sun Jiashan probably agree with about Chinese short dramas?
A.They have promoted economy in USA.
B.They can serve as a cultural messenger.
C.They have revived the Hollywood industry.
D.They can stand for the Chinese streaming soft power.
Passage 5
How to write a movie review
Whether a movie is a dull or a brilliant work of art, if people are watching it, it’s worth critiquing (评论). Writing a movie review can be an exciting but difficult task. You have to be both a viewer, enjoying the performance, and a critic, analyzing the production. 1
Do some background research. It will be valuable to know as much as you can about who worked on the movie. It’s also a good idea to look at reviews for similar movies to know how others have done it.
Take notes as you watch the movie. Before you sit down to watch a film, get your notebook or a computer ready. 2 Taking notes allows you to write down little things you can return to later.
Use plenty of examples to back up your opinions. 3 Describe the way scenes look, the way a certain person acted, camera angles, and so on. You can use dialogue to help you make your points as well.
4 You could treat your review like a formal writing task, but it’s more interesting if you make it your own. If your writing style is usually funny, your review should be no exception. If you’re serious and dramatic, that works, too. Let your language and writing style reflect your unique angle and personality — it’s much more entertaining (娱乐的) for the readers.
Revise and rewrite as needed. Read your review carefully, looking for mistakes, awkward phrasing, or others you might want to change. Don’t be afraid to make major revisions. 5 . If it makes the review better, then take this opportunity to improve your work.
A.Give it some personality.
B.Be creative and interesting.
C.This is where taking notes really pays off.
D.If you take notes the first time, focus on the plot.
E.You might decide to remove or rewrite an entire paragraph.
F.But with the proper methods, you can create a well-written one.
G.Movies are long, and you can easily forget details or major points.
Passage 6
Get Smart About Saving
Knowing how to manage money is an important life skill. Creating a budget (预算) helps you save for what you want and be smarter with finances. Here’s how to budget, save, and spend wisely.
Open a Bank Account
If you don’t have a savings account, talk to a parent about opening one. The bank is the safest place for your money, and you earn interest. 1 It makes your money grow over time as the bank rewards you for keeping funds there.
Track Your Spending
A budget is a plan for using money. When making a budget, know your money and its uses. 2 Write down all spending for two weeks. Then evaluate purchases—— was everything worth it? This shows where your money goes and helps cut unnecessary costs.
Think in Threes
One budgeting way is to split money into “spend,” “save,” and “give.” 3 You can use jars or a running list to divide funds. Split equally or in your preferred way. It ensures money for small treats, big savings goals, and charity.
Set a Savings Goal
To avoid quick spending, set a goal. Think of what you want——a bike, ballet lessons, or an amusement park trip. 4 Work toward it slowly and feel accomplished when reached.
5 Mastering these steps lets you take control of your money, making it work for your present and future needs.
A.This interest means the bank pays you for keeping an account.
B.Saving can start small but lead to big financial sense.
C.Decide how much you need and plan to reach that amount.
D.Budgeting isn’t just for adults—— teens can benefit too!
E.Many adults use this method for household budgets.
F.Tracking spending shows habits and helps manage money better.
G.Giving should always be the smallest part of your budget.
Passage 7
The King’s Speech is a film 1 tells the true story of King George VI. Colin Firth, who plays the king, 2 (win) the Best Actor at the 83rd Academy Awards (the Oscar) for his role in 2011.
Set in 3 1930s, the film shows how the king, together with his speech doctor Lionel Logue, 4 (overcome) a great personal challenge. The two men, whose backgrounds are very different, eventually become friends. What makes the film so 5 (power) is not fancy effects, but the excellent performances.
Director Tom Hooper 6 (skillful) uses narrow indoor sets and dark lighting 7 (create) tension and uncertainty 8 the beginning of the film. Up to now, this approach 9 (consider) to be highly effective. Firth, who has been practicing his lines for months, perfectly shows the king’s struggle. All the actors, 10 (include) Geoffrey Rush, are outstanding.
In short, this film has touched millions of hearts and is highly recommended.
Passage 8
Zootopia 2 has become China’s most popular imported animated film. 1 success depends on a strong story, excellent production, and a loyal audience that has grown up with the characters.
After a nine-year wait, the film has successfully attracted both old and new viewers. positively responding 2 the expectations of its global audience. It presents a new mystery 3 focuses. on a snake and a noble family expanding the world in tricky ways. The world-building is still creative, and the new settings add to its visual appeal without losing the original’s warmth and wit.
Disney’s strategy in China shows careful planning. Releasing during 4 Year of the Snake and using a famous local song are not coincidences — each move is designed 5 (connect) with Chinese viewers, and these efforts 6 (recognize) by the audience.
Despite some criticism 7 (regard) its plot or dubbing, the film has been widely praised for its entertainment value and meaningful 8 (theme) .What really matters is that it proves high-quality content still wins the market.

Passage 9
The film you see on the screen is the product of a huge amount of hard work behind the scenes. Today, I’ll give you a brief 1 (introduce) to some aspects of film-making you might not be familiar with.
To begin with, I’d like to draw your attention to 2 important factor of a film — sound effects, which are often added after a scene has been shot. Another aspect I attach great importance 3 is visual special effects. CGI has been frequently used in film-making as a special effects technology. Generally, scenes requiring CGI 4 (film) in front of a green screen in the studio. As green doesn’t match any natural hair or skin colour, actors can be 5 (easy) separated from the background, 6 enables CGI effects to be added later.
7 (make) a film look real, great effort must sometimes be made to research, find and build objects. Director James Cameron spent six months looking at and 8 (revise) plans of the Titanic in order to build a full-sized model for his 1997 film.
What we see on the cinema screen is just the tip of the huge iceberg of film-making. Hopefully, next time you go to the cinema, you’ll spare a thought for all those 9 (talent) people behind the scenes. They have worked for months and even years so that you can have two 10 (hour) enjoyment!

【答案】1.A 2.C 3.C
根据Interstellar部分“Set in a future where Earth faces serious disease and famine (饥荒), the movie tells the story of astronauts traveling through a wormhole, which could link distant spots in space and time, to find a new home for human beings.(影片设定在一个地球面临严重疾病和饥荒的未来世界。故事讲述了一群宇航员穿越一个虫洞的旅程,这个虫洞能够连接遥远的宇宙空间和不同时期的地点,目的是为人类寻找新的栖息地)”可知,《星际穿越》的核心主题是“为人类寻找地球之外的家园”。故选A。
根据The Big Bang Theory部分“Known for its humor and clever use of science, the series’ makers often spoke to real physicists to keep its scientific details accurate. The show often deals with topics such as quantum mechanics and theoretical physics, with characters discussing difficult quantum physics ideas, and these science-driven conversations are what make the comedy so unique.(该系列剧以其幽默风趣和对科学的巧妙运用而闻名,其制作团队经常与真正的物理学家交流,以确保剧中科学细节的准确性。该剧常常涉及诸如量子力学和理论物理学等主题,其中角色们会探讨复杂的量子物理学概念,而这些以科学为导向的对话正是这部剧的喜剧特色所在,使其独具特色)”可知,其独特之处在于“将幽默与真实的科学讨论相结合”。故选C。
3.细节理解题。根据The Three-Body Problem部分“In the story, the “sophon” is a smart being developed by the Trisolarans (三体人) to hold back Earth’s scientific progress and monitor humans.(在故事中,“智子” 是三体人制造出的智能生命体,用于锁死地球的科学进步,并监视人类)”可知,“智子”的主要功能是“阻碍人类的科学进步”。故选C。
根据第一段中“Maxime Cottray, the main operator at a studio, says, ‘The US market is hard for movies not in English. America did not grow up reading subtitles (字幕) or hearing dubbing (配音) like Europe did.’ (一家工作室的主要负责人马克西姆·科特雷说:‘美国市场对非英语电影来说很难。美国不像欧洲那样,从小就阅读字幕或听配音。’)”可知,美国市场对外语电影来说很艰难是因为美国人在文化上不接受字幕或配音。故选C项。
2.细节理解题。根据第三段中“Mann, who made films like Heist, felt old dubbing lost the feeling of the original: ‘Classic dubbing feels off, acted in a different way — lower quality for world viewers.’ (曾制作过《双面劫匪》等电影的曼认为,旧的配音失去了原作的感觉:‘经典的配音感觉不对劲,表演方式不同——对全球观众来说质量较低。’)”可知,斯科特·曼认为传统配音不能完美地表达原作的情感。故选C项。
3.细节理解题。根据第四段中“Flawless tech, rooted in 2018 research, uses face finding, face recognition, spot tracking and 3D mapping to keep the actor’s first take, saving cash and hours with no need to re-film. (Flawless的技术源于2018年的研究,它使用人脸查找、人脸识别、斑点跟踪和3D映射来保留演员的第一次拍摄,无需重新拍摄,节省了资金和时间。)”可知,Flawless的技术结合了多种技术来保留原作。故选D项。
4.主旨大意题。根据第一段中“A new AI-driven dubbing tool may now make this step easier. (现在,一种新的人工智能驱动的配音工具可能会让这一步变得更容易。)”、第二段中“A recent Swedish sci-fi film, Watch the Skies, used AI — fed with its sound and picture — to make actors look as if they are speaking English. (最近的一部瑞典科幻电影《仰望天空》使用了人工智能——通过输入声音和图像——让演员看起来像是在说英语。)”以及全文内容可知,文章主要介绍了一种由人工智能驱动的配音工具为外语电影进入美国市场提供了新的可能,打开了国际电影的新大门。所以“AI-driven Dubbing: Opening New Doors for International Films (人工智能配音:为国际电影打开新大门)”是文章最佳标题。故选D项。
【答案】1.B 2.A 3.C 4.B

根据第一段“Its advance ticket sales have already surpassed 249 million yuan (US $35 million) — a record for a foreign animated film in China, according to box office tracker Dengta Data.(据票房数据平台灯塔专业版数据显示,该片预售票房已突破2.49亿元(约合3500万美元),创下外国动画电影在中国内地的预售纪录)”以及文章主要说明了中国电影市场遇冷后,《疯狂动物城2》凭破纪录预售票房成潜力爆款。
【答案】1.A 2.C 3.A 4.B

根据第二段“The success of Chinese short dramas overseas is not about spreading domestic (国内的) content, but about localized reinvention in themes and visual language for the overseas market. (中国短剧在海外的成功并非在于传播国内内容,而是在于针对海外市场在主题和视觉语言上进行本土化改造。)”以及第三段“Chinese platforms are good at adjusting content to local tastes. (中国平台擅长根据当地口味调整内容。)”可知,中国短剧在海外成功是因为迎合了当地的喜好。故选A。
根据第三段“Xu Wensong, an associate professor at the School of Cultural Industry Management at the Communication University of China, told us that Chinese short dramas are characterized by appealing storylines, an ability to deliver high emotional value and instant entertainment. (中国传媒大学文化产业管理学院副教授徐文松告诉我们,中国微短剧的特点是故事情节吸引人、能够传递高情绪价值并提供即时娱乐。)”可知,徐文松认为中国短剧的特点包括传递高情绪价值。故选C。
3.词句猜测题。根据第四段“This, he said, has ‘rescued’ many Hollywood professionals who were on the brink of unemployment. (他说,这‘拯救’了许多on the brink of失业的好莱坞专业人士。)”可知,“rescued”暗示这些人之前处于失业的边缘,因此“on the brink of”意为“濒临,接近”,与“Close to”含义相近。故选A。
根据第五段“Sun Jiashan, an associate researcher at the Central Academy of Culture and Tourism Administration, noted that the overseas development of Chinese micro dramas symbolizes a significant practice of ‘cultural output in the digital age’. Sun believes that micro dramas may become an important tool for China’s cultural soft power, carving out a different path in the global streaming competition. (25-26高一上·江苏南通·期末)How to write a movie review
