范文
Ladies and gentlemen, judges and fellow debaters,
Let me address today’s topic directly: the overuse of AI assistants does weaken teenagers’ thinking abilities, and here’s why.
Firstly, AI assistants provide instant answers, which may discourage teenagers from engaging in deep thinking and problem-solving on their own. Secondly, AI discourages active engagement with knowledge. This creates a generation of passive consumers, not active learners.
Hence, over-reliance on AI tools can indeed weaken teenagers’ thinking abilities. Let’s use technology as a tool — not a shortcut — so we don’t lose the very skills we’ll need to solve tomorrow’s problems.
Thank you.

Paragraph 1
The next day at school, I saw Mark in the classroom as usual. He sat quietly at his desk, as if nothing had happened, but I noticed a bandage on his arm. I walked over, patted his shoulder and thanked him for saving the child. He looked up, a little surprised, and nodded slightly with a faint smile. Soon, the story of his bravery spread around the class. My classmates and I gathered around him, expressing our admiration and concern. For the first time, Mark didn’t look indifferent; he listened patiently, his eyes softening a little.
Paragraph 2
After that day, something changed. Mark no longer stayed alone all the time. When I asked him to join our basketball team again, he agreed without hesitation. During practice, he played skillfully and cooperated well with us. He even started talking to classmates, sharing small moments of his life. We all realized that behind his quiet appearance was a kind and brave heart. The once distant boy became part of our group, and our class became warmer because of this brave and gentle boy.

(原创) When Karyna Kovalevska, an 18-year-old Ukrainian, first came to China in 2019 for a Confucius Institute summer exchange in Anhui, she never thought China would become her second home. She struggled yet felt excited about learning Chinese, and was deeply touched by the kindness of Chinese people, falling in love with the country and promising to come back.
Three years later, she kept her promise, settling in Yuncheng, Shanxi with her Chinese husband. She started posting short videos on Xiaohongshu, Weibo and Douyin to record her daily life. Deep in the forests of Uganda, Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka does something extraordinary: she protects mountain gorillas. For 27 years, she has been working with mountain gorillas, pursuing her dream job, which gave her the title of Uganda’s first wildlife vet.
Today, she is standing on the front lines of a growing crisis: climate change. The gorillas’ habitat in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is growing warmer and drier, and water is becoming scarce. “When droughts come,” she explains, “the gorillas will struggle.”
Climate change also fuels the spread of infectious diseases, posing severe risks to both local communities and wildlife. Dr. Gladys and her team work closely with village health teams or community health workers who they train to do conservation work. They monitor the gorillas’ health and provide treatment. Each month, they collect fecal (粪便)samples from all 26 habituated gorilla groups, to screen for viruses that could be transmitted from people or livestock.
Society does not always encourage women to enter daring — even dangerous — fields; often, it discourages them. “But I did just that,” says Dr. Gladys. When she started, few women worked in conservation. Now, more are joining. “We still have a long way to go,” she says, “but things are changing.”
Thanks to her work, mountain gorillas are no longer classified as critically endangered. Their population has risen from about 300 to over 500 since she started. “At times, I feel hopeless,” she admits. “But what keeps me going is knowing that something can be done. Working with gorillas gives me a lot of hope. It really does.”
28. What is a major threat to the survival of mountain gorillas?
A.The chaos of war. B. Deforestation. C. Climate change. D.Water pollution.
29. How does Dr. Gladys’ team monitor the health of the mountain gorillas?
A. By giving regular physical exams. B. By treating them in local clinics.
C. By analyzing their fecal samples. D. By controlling infectious diseases.
30. Which of the following best describes Dr. Gladys’job?
A. Challenging. B. Amazing. C. Boring. D. Well-paid.
31. What can we learn about Dr. Gladys’ work from the last paragraph?
A. It turns out ineffective. B. It is quite fruitful.
C. It lacks official support. D. It is very hopeless.

For years, we told young people the future was theirs if they learned to code. Schools focused more on technical training, while humanities (人文) courses were gradually reduced. As a result, many students were prepared mainly for technical tasks rather than broader learning. Now AI writes the code, studies the data, and answers questions once given to new workers. But the real challenge lies not in the work itself, but in how students are being prepared for it. When AI takes over many entry-level tasks, fewer chances are left for balanced early development.
Rather than a breakdown, this change marks a correction. The jobs that remain need qualities that AI cannot fully provide, including judgment, empathy, ways of thinking. Machines can process information, but humans still decide what matters. Experience was once earned through doing real tasks or understanding how others feel in a situation. But if AI takes over tasks that once shaped these human qualities, they must be developed through intentional education. That means education should focus on helping students think more deeply and make thoughtful judgments.
While automation accelerates, the humanities shrink. In the U.S., the share of humanities degrees has fallen from 17 percent in the 1960s to under 9 percent today. Once seen as progress, this change now looks shortsighted. Caring about others, explaining ideas clearly, understanding different cultures, and solving problems in creative ways have become especially important at work. These abilities are formed in literature, history, sociology, and philosophy.
In a world where AI can answer almost anything, the real value lies in knowing what to ask, how to frame it, and why it matters. To prepare for a world where machines can do many tasks but not the deeper thinking, we must build a strong base again—one that encourages long-term thinking rather than short-term efficiency. Humanities should return to the center of education, not as a return to the past, but as a necessary balance in the age of AI. We optimized a generation for technical efficiency, and efficiency became ordinary. Now we must cultivate what cannot be automated, those that make us human.
32. What is the author mainly concerned about in the first paragraph?
A. Universities’ adjusting their teaching programs.
B. Young people having no access to digital tools.
C. Students’ preparation becoming more one-sided.
D. Entry-level work remaining unchanged for years.
33. What do the remaining jobs require?
A. Long working hours.
B. Physical strength and speed.
C. Human emotions and thoughts.
D. Basic computer technologies.
34. What should education help people learn to do?
A.Use more advanced AI-assisted tools.
B.Look at the long run and think more deeply.
C.Rebuild their memories of knowledge.
D.Know how to ask AI to handle everything.
35. What can be a suitable title for the text?
A. Why Humanities Still matter in the Age of AI
B. Is AI a Big Threat to Our Traditional Education
C. How Technology Will Replace Entry-Level Jobs
D. The Decline of Philosophy in Modern Universities

(原创) 36 When thinking about future events, optimists’ brains work similarly, while pessimists’ show greater individuality. A Kobe University finding explains why optimists are more sociable — they may share a common vision of the future.
Optimists tend to have more satisfying social relationships and wider networks. 37 Psychologist YANAGISAWA Kuniaki wonders: “Why is this? Recent studies show people in central social positions have similar brain responses to stimuli. So those with similar attitudes toward the future may imagine it similarly, making understanding each other easier.”
38 To test this idea, Yanagisawa put together a team from social psychology and brain science. They aimed to find out how thinking about the future appears in the brain.
“The question was untouched as it lies between two fields, but their combination opened this black box,” Yanagisawa said. 39 They recruited 87 people ranging from pessimists to optimists, asking them to imagine future events. Their brain activity was recorded via functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).
The experiment provided clear brain evidence for the initial idea. 40 This similarity not only explains optimists’ better social connections but also offers new insights into how brain function shapes social behavior.
A. Have you ever wondered why optimists often have better social lives?
B. This similarity in brain function may explain their stronger social connections.
C. A key question came up: Could this brain similarity be the reason?
D. The lack of earlier research comes from the topic’s cross-field nature.
E. Brain activity patterns tracked by fMRI showed consistent brain responses in optimists.
F. Pessimists, by contrast, struggle to form such shared thinking patterns.
G. Social psychology and brain science rarely work together on such cross-field topics.

Li Yongge is the third-generation inheritor of the 100-year-old Palace Museum’s official ancient building 56 (technical). In 1975, he entered the Palace Museum and became an apprentice (学徒)to second-generation master carpenter Zhao Chongmao.
Like many, Li initially saw it 57 merely a job to support his family. Years flowed into decades, marked by countless repairs. When 58 (ask) how many structures he’d restored, Li simply replied, “Uncountable”.
In 2006, Taihe Dian, the Palace Museum’s 59 (grand) and highest-ranking structure, standing for over 300 years since the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, underwent its first major 60 (restore). Li’s team reproduced the authentic Kangxi-era “shanbei”, experimenting tirelessly to copy the precise ratio of tung oil in the lime (石灰) mixture. Another critical task 61 (be) restoring the exterior painted decoration. What defines “restoring the old as old”? Li noted, “Restore it 62 (look) aged, or restore its original brilliance? Our principle remains unchanged: Protect 63 original condition of the relic.”
Before his master Zhao retired, he pressed a note into Li’s hand, 64 can be translated as “guard against pride with a single skill; resist the urge to skim the surface.” Li 65 (carry) these words in the past decades. Hopefully, these ancient treasures can be guarded with equal respect, their core faithfully passed on.

Mark was a quiet boy in my class. He rarely spoke to others and seemed hard to get along with. My classmates and I usually left him alone, partly because of his indifferent (漠不关心的) attitude.
However, I often saw him after school, alone in an outdoor basketball court, practicing shooting tirelessly. Even on cold days, he’d be there, sweat flowing down his face. I lived opposite the school and could see him from my window, a habit I’d picked up after first noticing him. Since my discovery of his quite good skills, I wondered if I, captain of my school’s basketball team, should ask him to join us.
One evening, I looked out of the window, and saw Mark already leaving the school. Not far ahead of him, there was a mother and her child. The child held a small ball in his hands. Suddenly, the ball rolled onto the busy road. Focused on his ball, the child ran after it, unaware of a car approaching quickly in the weak light.
As the sky was dark and the child was so small and in dark clothes, the driver seemed not to notice the child’s actions. The child’s mother cried out in fright, frozen in fear. Just as a tragedy seemed unavoidable, Mark dashed onto the road. The driver, seeing a figure coming out to the road, hit the brakes (刹车) hard immediately, but the car still dragged forward.
My heart stopped. The world seemed to stand still. People rushed to the scene. The child was crying, but Mark was found protecting him tightly with his body. Ten minutes later, an ambulance took Mark, the child, and his mother to the hospital.
注意:1. 所续写短文的词数应为150左右;
Paragraph 1:
The next day at school, I saw Mark in the classroom as usual.
Paragraph 2:
After that day, something changed.

W: But in Finland, it’s totally normal. See that woman leaving her baby outside the store? She believes other people will look out for her baby while she goes inside.
M: Yes. But I still can’t believe that. By the way, is it easy to find a good day care center here? My wife will return to France to look after her mom. I can’t leave my little kids at home while I’m at work.
W: Of course. Lots of day care centers here offer round-the-clock service. Parents pay a maximum of 300 euros a month for one child. What’s more, people who work at day care centers must have a university degree.

D

解析:根据第一段中的“For years, we told young people the future was theirs if they learned to code. When AI takes over many entry-level tasks, fewer chances are left for balanced early development.(多年来,我们告诉年轻人,只要学会编程,未来就属于他们。
解析:根据第二段中的“The jobs that remain need qualities that AI cannot fully provide, including judgment, empathy, ways of thinking. Machines can process information, but humans still decide what matters.(剩下的工作需要人工智能无法完全提供的特质,包括判断力、同理心和思维方式。机器可以处理信息,但人类仍然决定什么是重要的)”可知,剩余工作所需的是人类特有的情感和思维相关的特质。
34. 答案:B 细节理解题。
解析:根据第二段中的“That means education should focus on helping students think more deeply and make thoughtful judgments.(这意味着教育应该专注于帮助学生更深入地思考,并做出深思熟虑的判断)”以及第四段中的“To prepare for a world where machines can do many tasks but not the deeper thinking, we must build a strong base again — one that encourages long-term thinking rather than short-term efficiency.(为了应对一个机器可以完成许多任务但无法进行深度思考的世界,我们必须重新建立一个坚实的基础——一个鼓励长期思考而非短期效率的基础)”可知,教育应帮助人们学会长远考虑并深入思考。
由此可知,A项“Why Humanities Still matter in the Age of AI(人工智能时代人文科学为何依然重要)”适合作本文标题。

36.答案:A

A. independence(独立);B. confidence(自信);C. happiness(快乐);D. freedom(自由)。
A. fun(乐趣);B. granted(理所当然的);C. sure(确定的);D. real(真实的)。
A. filled(充满);B. mixed(混合);C. decorated(装饰);D. covered(覆盖)。decorated with“用……装饰”,贴合贺卡的装饰逻辑;filled with侧重内部充满,mixed with、covered with均不符合语境。
A. shout(大喊);B. whisper(低语);C. cry(哭喊);D. speak(说)。
A. connected(产生共鸣);B. dealt(处理);C. agreed(同意);D. combined(结合)。
A. written(写);B. printed(印刷);C. drawn(画);D. raised(凸起的)。
A. covering(覆盖);B. closing(关闭);C. filling(充满);D. touching(触摸)。
A. door(门);B. key(钥匙);C. road(路);D. bridge(桥)。key to“……的钥匙”,体现盲文贺卡让作者首次融入正常人的节日仪式感,解锁新体验;其他选项无法体现“开启、通往”的逻辑。
49. A 动词辨析。句意:受到启发,我联系了澳大利亚导盲犬协会,建议制作无障碍贺卡。A. contacted(联系);B. called(打电话);C. visited(拜访);D. thanked(感谢)。
A. hurt(伤害);B. damage(损害);C. loss(丧失);D. pain(痛苦)。
A. hoping(希望);B. wishing(希望);C. making(使);D. ensuring(确保)。
A. big(大的);B. tiny(微小的);C. special(特别的);D. common(普通的)。
A. deserves(值得);B. wants(想要);C. hopes(希望);D. plans(计划)。
A. bigger(更大的);B. happier(更快乐的);C. wider(更广阔的);D. better(更好的)。
A. joy(快乐);B. hope(希望);C. change(改变);D. warmth(温暖)。

57.答案:as
固定搭配see...as...
61.答案:was
62.答案:to look
63.答案:the
64.答案:which
65.答案:has carried

Ladies and gentlemen, judges and fellow debaters,
Thank you!
Thank you.

注意:1. 所续写短文的词数应为150左右;

The next day at school, I saw Mark in the classroom as usual.
Paragraph 2:
After that day, something changed.

For Karyna, creation is about earnestness rather than gaining attention. Her unscripted videos capture real moments, aiming to show the true open, safe and kind China to the world and break overseas stereotypes.
Her food-related videos, especially those about creative vinegar snacks in Yuncheng, are the most popular. She has gained thousands of followers at home and abroad, with 95 percent of positive comments warming her heart. Having lived in China for over three years, Karyna has a strong sense of belonging, regarding China as the happiest place she has ever lived, constantly moved by the warmth and friendliness of Chinese people.

D

Paragraph 1:
The next day at school, I saw Mark in the classroom as usual.
