第一节 (共 15 小题;每小题 2.5 分,满分 37.5 分) 阅读下列短文,从每题所给的 A、B、C、D 四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
Over the centuries, we have discovered more about our world, and think that everything that could be discovered already has been. But the truth is that the world holds many more secrets waiting to be revealed. Here are four places that have yet to be opened up completely.
The Mariana Trench
The deepest and darkest place in the ocean is the 11,000-meter-deep Mariana Trench. Due to cold temperatures and huge water pressure, the deep ocean is totally unfriendly to humans. Although technological advances have led to the discovery of many new varieties of deep-sea animals on the ocean floor, there is a lot more to be learned.
The Amazon rainforest
The Amazon rainforest is said to make up around 50% of all of the rainforests in the world. Interest in its climate and resources has resulted in certain explorations. However, due to the extreme difficulty in getting to and entering the region, full exploration of it has been almost impossible. Up to now, 2.5 million insect species and 400,000 plant species have been officially documented.
Greenland
About 81% of Greenland is covered in ice, so it is almost completely unpopulated. Greenland has only been explored to a limited extent, as the climate is quite unsuitable for human life. Although research explorations are currently being carried out, the most interesting research in Greenland might tell us more about the past than the present.
Deserts
It is almost impossible to survive long periods of time in the desert. Thus, desert explorations have frequently had terrible results—many people are known to have died on such explorations. It is unclear whether anything of particular interest would be uncovered by further research into deserts, although there are animal and plant species there which are special.
21. Why is the Amazon rainforest not fully explored?
A. Unclear research results. B. Difficulty in reaching the region.
C. The unwelcoming environments. D. Lack of interest in its climate and resources.
22. Which of the four locations may provide more information of the past?
A. The Mariana Trench. B. The Amazon rainforest.
C. Deserts. D. Greenland.
23. Where is the text probably taken from?
A. A news report. B. A club poster. C. A book review. D. A science magazine.

How can classic literary works stay lively in the digital age? A 17-year-old high school student from Chengdu, Sichuan, named Wu Yaduo, has found a wonderful way to answer this question.
Using her iPad and creative drawing skills, Wu turns stories from famous classics into hand-drawn animated(动画的)videos. These works include well-known books like A Dream of Red Mansions, Water Margin and The Peony Pavilion, as well as life stories of famous poets such as Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty. Her videos have won tens of thousands of followers online and got millions of views. Wu thinks these classics are timeless because they talk about human emotions and social themes that never go out of date.
However, she notices many students are not interested in these works just because they have to learn them for school. So Wu wants to bridge the gap between classics and modern life, making them more relatable and interesting for young people. Therefore, she usually chooses texts from her high school Chinese textbooks as the starting point.
In her creations, Wu combines text and sound cleverly. For example, one of her works about A Dream of Red Mansions was inspired by a sad song from an indie band(独立乐队). She drew the flourishing Daguanyuan, or the Grand View Garden, and the sad scene of the family’s downfall at the same time to create a strong emotional impact. Unlike traditional story-telling, her videos are full of bright colors and striking visual effects, as she loves experimental movies and artworks.
Though Wu has received much support, she feels sorry that she can’t perfectly turn the images in her mind into drawings. But she still looks forward to creating more works to bring classics closer to daily life.
24. What do we know about Wu Yaduo’s animated videos of classic works?
A. She pays more attention to sound than visuals.
B. She takes band songs as main creative materials.
C. She combines traditional tools with electronic devices.
D. She uses digital tools and drawing skills to show classics.
25. Why does Wu use materials from textbooks in her works?
A. To choose the easiest content to animate.
B. To make students interested in the classics.
C. To show the importance of classics at school.
D. To explain the classic texts in a simpler way.
26. Which of the following best describes Wu Yaduo’s animated videos?
A. Creative and vivid. B. Plain and thoughtful.
C. Serious and traditional. D. Popular and demanding.
27. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. A student gains popularity online by creating digital content.
B. Classic literature is becoming less interesting to modern students.
C. A student creates animations to make classics connect the youth.
D. Digital technology offers a new way to link traditional culture.

A new United Nations(UN)report says one-fifth of the world's migratory(迁徙的)animals are at risk of disappearing. Animals that migrate move from one area to another at different times of the year.
The threats(威胁)the animals face include habitat loss, illegal hunting, pollution and natural disasters. Many kinds of migratory animals, including songbirds, sea turtles, whales, sharks and others, move to different environments as the seasons change.
The UN report says about 44 percent of migratory species around the world are decreasing in population. In addition, about one in five of 1,200 species watched by the UN are at risk of becoming endangered, or completely disappearing.
These are species that move around the globe. They move to feed and breed and also need sites to stop along the way. Any habitat loss or other threats during their trips can make the animal populations fall. “Migration is important to some species. If you cut the migration, you’re going to kill the species,” said an expert.
The researchers examined existing data, including information from the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Species. The list identifies wildlife across the world facing threats at present.
The report was presented at a meeting of the UN’s Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Attendees of the gathering are examining suggestions for conservation measures. They are also working to identify new species of concern. Susan Lieberman is vice president of the international policy at the Wildlife Conservation Society, a non-governmental organization . She said, “One country alone cannot save any of these species. ”
28. What does the UN report mainly show?
A. Most animals are disappearing. B. Migratory species are increasing.
C. Migratory animals face some threats. D. Most species face some natural disasters.
29. What does migration mean to some species according to the expert in Paragraph 4?
A. Losing their competitors. B. A matter of life and death.
C. A lack of food and movement. D. Destroying their habitats.
30. What can we infer from Susan Lieberman's words in Paragraph 6?
A. It is difficult to identify migratory animals.
B. It is impossible to protect migratory animals.
C. Rescuing migratory species depends on policies.
D. Rescuing migratory species requires global efforts.
31. Which of the following can be the best title for the text?
A. Human Activities Are Affecting Wildlife
B. International Meetings Push Animal Protection
C. Some Migratory Animals Are at Risk of Extinction
D. Many More Animals Are Regarded as Endangered Species
D
If you were to walk through each of the Louvre’s 400 galleries(展厅), you would cover about 14.5 km. Stop to look at each artwork for 15 seconds, and you would be there for about 145 hours. As a result, few of the nearly 9 million people who visit the Louvre each year leave feeling as if they have truly mastered it.
Elaine Sciolino, formerly the leader of The New York Times, has volunteered herself as a tour guide. In the book Adventures in the Louvre, she does not try to take readers through every room or write the museum’s long and colorful history. Instead, she focuses on central topics and small details that will interest them.
The writer has a reporter’s knack for raising a good question. Of all the faces in the Louvre, “Who is the fairest one of all?” she asks Sébastien Allard, director of paintings, who offers five suggestions (by Jacques-Louis David, Rembrandt, Pisanello, Titian and Johannes Vermeer). Many Louvre workers think the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, the world’s most famous artwork, is not as good as people say. Yet around four-fifths of visitors come mainly to see it and pay little attention to other treasures.
Even people who understand the collection well can still learn something. For example, about 1,700 works have “mnr” on their labels(标签), which stands for Musées Nationaux Récupération, or National Museums
Recovery. That means they are looked after by the Louvre but aren’t part of its collection.
For the Louvre, history ended in 1848 — later masterpieces are in France’s other national museums — but its change continues. Recently French government started a renovation(翻新)costing $800m-900m, which would, among other things, give the Mona Lisa her own gallery. Visitors will have even more need of a knowledgeable guide.
32. Why does the author list the numbers in paragraph 1?
A. To prove the value of artworks. B. To recommend the best tour path.
C. To show the large size of the Louvre. D. To stress the speed of viewing artworks.
33. What does the book Adventures in the Louvre focus on?
A. Every room of the Louvre. B. The long history of the Louvre.
C. Well-known artworks in the Louvre. D. Specific topics and details in the Louvre.
34. What does the underlined word “knack” in paragraph 3 probably mean?
A. Hobby. B. Skill. C. Task. D. Chance.
35. What is the best title for the text?
A. The Mona Lisa: A Perfect Work B. The Louvre: Facts You May Not Know
C. The Mona Lisa: The Star of the Louvre D. The Louvre: A Must-Visit for Art Lovers
第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)

Reasons Why Literature Is So Important?
Today, there are too many people who believe that literature is simply not important or undervalue its ability to stand the test of time and give us great knowledge. There is a stigma(耻辱)in society that implies one who is more drawn to science and math will somehow be more successful in life, and that one who is more excited about literature and other art forms will be bound to live a life of low-paid jobs and unsatisfying careers. ___36___
To me, however, literature serves as a gateway to learning of the past and increasing my knowledge and understanding of the world. Here are just a few reasons why literature is important.
Expanding horizons.
First and foremost, literature opens our eyes and makes us see more than just what the front door shows. ___37___ With this, we begin to learn, ask questions, and build our instincts(直觉). We expand our minds.
Appreciation of other cultures and beliefs.
Reading about history, anthropology(人类学)or religious studies provides a method of learning about cultures and beliefs other than our own. It allows us to understand and experience other living systems in other worlds. ___38___ We can learn, understand and appreciate it.
___39___
All kinds of literature, poems, essays, novels, or short stories, help us address human nature and conditions that affect all people. We learn that imperfection is not always bad and that normal can be boring. We learn that life must be lived to the fullest. We need literature in order to connect with our own mankind.
___40___ Any debate over this makes no sense. It provides growth, strengthens our minds, and gives us the ability to think outside the box.
A. Addressing mankind.
B. Better writing skills.
C. Literature is important and necessary.
D. It helps us understand the wide world surrounding us.
E. Many of us learn what critical thinking(批判性思维)is in our language arts classes.
F. We get personal views and understanding into the minds from the inside looking out.
G. Somewhere along the line, the world has come to think that literature is insignificant.

第二节 (满分 25 分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Lily and Ethan were deskmates and also good friends — until their friendship took a tum because of a book report project.
Their teacher, Ms. Carter, had paired students into groups of four to present a report on The Old Man and the Sea, with an extra credit for making the presentation(展示)interesting. Lily spent three evenings making a plan: she wanted to act out some parts of the book, make simple props(道具)like a paper “memory box”, and add small drawings to explain key ideas. But when the group sat down to plan, Ethan shook his head, “Acting will take too long, and props might get messy. Let’s just make a PPT show with main points — it’s quick and easy.” Lily held her notebook hard; she’d stayed up for two nights thinking of ways to make the report stand out. “A PPT show will be boring! Ms. Carter said she wanted us to ‘bring the book to life’, not just read facts,” she said angrily.
Neither of them would give in, and the other two group members just looked at their desks, unsure what to say. Finally, Ethan pulled out his notebook and started writing a PPT outline(概要), completely paying no attention to Lily’s notes. Lily, her cheeks red with anger, put her notebook into her backpack and turned to look out of the window. After that, the space between their desks felt like a quiet wall. Lily moved her pencil case closer to her side, and Ethan stopped sharing his extra pens or something useful about their homework.
In Friday’s class, Ms. Carter learned about the terrible situation Lily and Ethan were in. “This is such a fun plan — acting out parts of the book will help everyone remember the story better,” she said, smiling at Lily. Suddenly, Ethan looked up, “Ms. Carter, what if we mix both? We can give a short performance(表演)first, and then use a simple PPT show to explain the key points.” Hearing that, Ms. Carter’s eyes brightened and gave him a big yes.
注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;

I'm honoured to have my voice heard to make a difference in the lives of those little birds that share our city. My name is Christina. I'm an enthusiastic birdwatcher. Because we cut down too many trees in the nearby areas, many birds now find places within the city to live. The most common is the area behind the large advertisement boards on the polls. It's a natural choice for the birds because the polls are similar to trees, tall and far from dangers on the ground. The surprising thing is that there are likely more than five or six kinds of birds living together at each place. While trying to learn more about these birds, I find that there have not been any consistent studies were monitoring of them. They're eating habits, adaptation to life in the city, diseases, death rate and such other information are not available. I'd like to suggest that the program be started to study these birds. IT could be convenient to employ birdwatchers to do the initial studies. Good evening. I'm honour to have my voice heard to make a difference in the lives of those little birds that share our city. 第二部分 阅读(共两节,满分 50 分)
【参考答案】21. B 22. D 23. D

【参考答案】24. D 25. B 26. A 27. C

【语篇解读】这是一篇说明文。联合国报告显示全球五分之一迁徙动物濒临灭绝,种群数量下降,其面临多重生存威胁,保护需国际协作。
【详情解析】
28. 细节理解题。根据第一段“A new United Nations(UN)report says one-fifth of the world's migratory(迁徙的)animals are at risk of disappearing.(联合国一份新报告称,全球五分之一的迁徙动物正面临灭绝风险)”以及第二段“The threats(威胁)the animals face include habitat loss, illegal hunting, pollution and natural disasters.(这些动物面临的威胁包括栖息地丧失、非法捕猎、污染和自然灾害)”可知,这份联合国报告主要表明迁徙动物正面临多种生存威胁,故选C项。
29. 推理判断题。根据第四段““Migration is important to some species. If you cut the migration, you’re going to kill the species,” said an expert.(一位专家表示:“迁徙对一些物种至关重要。如果阻断它们的迁徙,就相当于让这些物种走向灭绝。”)”可知,迁徙对部分物种而言是生死攸关的大事,故选B项。
30. 推理判断题。根据第六段“Susan Lieberman is vice president of the international policy at the Wildlife Conservation Society, a non-governmental organization . She said, “One country alone cannot save any of these species. ”(苏珊·利伯曼是非政府组织“野生动物保护协会”的国际政策副主席。她表示:“单凭任何一个国家都无法拯救这些物种。”)”可知,拯救迁徙物种需要全球各国协同合作,故选D项。
31. 主旨大意题。通读全文特别是第一段“A new United Nations(UN)report says one-fifth of the world's migratory(迁徙的)animals are at risk of disappearing. Animals that migrate move from one area to another at different times of the year.(一份新的联合国报告称,全球五分之一的迁徙动物面临灭绝风险。迁徙动物指那些在不同季节从一个地区转移到另一个区域的动物)”可知,第一段开篇点明“全球五分之一迁徙动物面临灭绝风险”,后文围绕迁徙动物面临的威胁、种群数量变化及保护需求展开。所以C项Some Migratory Animals Are at Risk of Extinction(部分迁徙动物面临灭绝风险)精准概括文章主旨,故选C项。

根据第一段中的“If you were to walk through each of the Louvre’s 400 galleries(展厅), you would cover about 14.5 km. Stop to look at each artwork for 15 seconds, and you would be there for about 145 hours.(如果你走过卢浮宫的400个展厅,行程约有14.5公里。如果每件艺术品停留15秒观赏,你会在那里待上约145个小时)”可知,作者列举这些数字是为了直观展现卢浮宫的规模十分庞大,故选C。
33. 细节理解题。根据第二段中的“In the book Adventures in the Louvre, she does not try to take readers through every room or write the museum’s long and colorful history. Instead, she focuses on central topics and small details that will interest them.(在《卢浮宫奇遇记》一书中,她并未试图带着读者走遍每个展厅,也没有撰写这座博物馆漫长而多彩的历史。相反,她聚焦于能引起读者兴趣的核心主题和微小细节)”可知,《卢浮宫奇遇记》这本书聚焦于卢浮宫中的特定主题和细节,故选D。
34. 词义猜测题。根据第三段中的“The writer has a reporter’s knack for raising a good question. Of all the faces in the Louvre, “Who is the fairest one of all?” she asks Sébastien Allard, director of paintings, who offers five suggestions (by Jacques-Louis David, Rembrandt, Pisanello, Titian and Johannes Vermeer).

65. 考查非谓语动词。句意:家畜受到的袭击减少,人们就不太可能去伤害大型食肉动物,这让卡扎保护区对所有生物来说都更安全。be likely to do sth. 为固定结构,表示“可能做某事”,此处应用动词原形,故填 to harm。

Nature in the Balance
Dear teachers and classmates,
I’m Li Hua. It’s my great honor to give a speech on “Nature in the Balance”.
Nature is essential for our survival. It provides us with clean air, fresh water and enough food. When nature is in balance, we can live in harmony with wildlife and enjoy a healthy environment. However, the balance is being broken. Air and water pollution make the environment worse. People cut down too many trees,so many animals are losing their homes. As a result, we are facing more natural disasters than before. It’s high time that we took action. We should save energy, reduce waste and recycle more in daily life. We can also plant trees and tell others the importance of protecting nature.
Small actions can make a big difference. Let’s join hands and protect our beautiful earth! Thank you!

So Lily and Ethan worked hard on the project together with the other two members. Lily taught Ethan how to make simple props — they cut a paper boat for the sea scene and drew an old man and a big fish. Ethan helped Lily organise the PPT, picking out clear images to match each part of their performance. They practised after school, adjusting lines to make it smoother. The other group members joined in too, holding props at a proper time. Neither of them stuck to their old stubborn ideas; instead, they listened to each other’s suggestions. They worked together as a team and felt ready for the presentation.
The presentation day finally came and the group walked to the front confidently. Lily started first, acting out the old man’s struggle with the fish, while the other members held up the paper props. Then Ethan switched to the PPT, explaining the theme of the book clearly. The class cheered loudly when they finished the presentation. Ms. Carter smiled and said, “You did a wonderful job mixing fun and facts! The extra credit is yours!” Later, as they packed their bags, Lily said, “I’m glad we didn’t stay angry.” Ethan nodded, “Me too. Cooperation really makes us go further and be more successful.”

注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;
