Welcome to Tiangong Class.” With this greeting, a special lecture began on Tiangong space station. Lasting for about 60 minutes, far more than half an hour, the space lecture was broadcast live to millions of students. Three astronauts from the Shenzhou XIII crew—Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu—hosted the lecture, demonstrating how they live and work on the space station and conducting some interesting experiments that can only be done in space. This is the second live space lecture in China. In 2013, Wang delivered the country’s first live space lecture .Compared with the class eight years ago, this year’s space lecture hall is bigger. The quality of space-to-ground communication is also much improved. Along with the technological progress, this year’s space lecture discussed more disciplines of science. Eight years ago, Wang showed students the laws of physics and focused on the interesting phenomenon of weightlessness in space. But this year, biology was added. Though these space lectures showed various topics, the aim behind the lectures has never changed. The space lectures aim to spread knowledge about manned spaceflights and inspire enthusiasm for science among young people. A Who was?—a series of books published by Penguin Workshop and designed for children aged from 8 to 12—tells the incredible stories of trailblazers(开拓者), legends, innovators, and creators. His father, Erik the Red, had established the first European settlement in present-day Greenland, and although he didn’t yet know it, Leif was destined to engage in a risky journey of his own.(莱夫·埃里克森天生就是个探险家。 C。 B Following a long voyage in extreme conditions, Zhai Mo sailed back to Shanghai after becoming the first man to successfully circle the Arctic Ocean. The famous Chinese explorer set sail from Shanghai on June 30, 2021, to start the challenging journey aimed at raising awareness about the link between land degradation(退化)and climate change. Along with two crew members, Zhai travelled more than 28,000 nautical miles(海里)in over 500 days. Born in Xintai, east China’s Shandong Province, Zhai first set his sights on a painting career and became a painter after graduating from college. His interest in sailing was triggered when an experienced Nordic sailor explained the charm of the water sport. He was the first Chinese to sail alone around the world in a motorless boat, completing the journey in 2009, with some in the media calling him “the Chinese Robinson Crusoe”. Zhai hopes his action will call the world’s attention to the impact of human activity on the environment—particularly the Arctic. Originally planned to end in four months, the voyage was delayed by extreme weather, cyclones(气旋)and floating ice. “The temperature in the Arctic Ocean can reach minus 50 to 70 degrees Celsius in winter,” said Zhai. “If we didn’t manage to leave a certain area during the ice-melting window, the boat would get frozen, leaving us as targets for polar bears. But we were fully prepared, having carried enough food supply. We also sailed past three of the world’s four largest fishing grounds.” he added. He noted many Arctic islands are named after sailors who died there, as icebergs—“as high as buildings, hard as rocks”—bring great danger. Despite loving sailing, Zhai keeps his artistic pursuit, collecting voyage inspiration for a large-scale humanity-themed work. His next goal is to sail around Antarctica. 24. Why did Zhai Mo circle the Arctic Ocean? A. To document the extreme conditions in the Arctic region. B. To call on people to focus on related environmental issues. C. To collect materials for his humanity-themed artistic work. D. To be the first Chinese to sail alone through the Arctic Ocean. 25. What does the underlined word “triggered” in Paragraph 3 probably mean? A. Supported. B. Stirred. C. Faded. D. Delayed. 26. Which is part of Zhai Mo’s team’s preparation for the Arctic voyage? A. Bringing along sufficient food. B. Making detailed plans to drive away polar bears. C. Reducing the voyage length as much as possible. D. Choosing to sail through all major fishing grounds. 27. What is the main idea of the passage? A. Zhai Mo’s personal life story from a painter to a sailor. B. The difficulties and dangers of sailing in the Arctic Ocean. C. Zhai Mo’s historic Arctic voyage and its environmental mission. D. The collection of inspiration for Zhai Mo’s art works during sailing. B 25. B 26. A 27. 根据文章第二段中的“The famous Chinese explorer set sail from Shanghai on June 30, 2021, to start the challenging journey aimed at raising awareness about the link between land degradation(退化)and climate change.(这位著名的中国探险家于2021年6月30日从上海启航,开始这次具有挑战性的旅程,旨在提高人们对土地退化和气候变化之间联系的认识)”可知,翟墨环绕北冰洋航行是为了呼吁人们关注相关的环境问题,故选B。 25. 根据画线词后文“when an experienced Nordic sailor explained the charm of the water sport.(当一位经验丰富的北欧水手向他解释水上运动的魅力时)”以及后文“He was the first Chinese to sail alone around the world in a motorless boat, completing the journey in 2009, with some in the media calling him “the Chinese Robinson Crusoe”.(他是首位独自驾驶无动力船只环游世界的中国人,于2009年完成了这次航行。 根据文章第二段中的“The famous Chinese explorer set sail from Shanghai on June 30, 2021, to start the challenging journey aimed at raising awareness about the link between land degradation(退化)and climate change.(这位著名的中国探险家于2021年6月30日从上海启航,开始这次具有挑战性的旅程,旨在提高人们对土地退化和气候变化之间联系的认识)”以及文章主要介绍了翟墨的北极航行及其环境使命可知,文章的主旨大意是翟墨的历史性北极航行及其环境使命。 C。 C Scientists are poor forecasters of the future. But two trends can be confidently predicted. First, the world will get more crowded. There will be more than 9 billion people by 2050. Second, the world will get warmer and some governments won’t prioritize the long-term measures needed to deal with climate change, even though science offers us a road-map to a low-carbon future. That’s why we should be promoters of new technology—without it the world can’t provide the food and sustainable energy needed for an expanding population. But we should also be cautious, as new technologies, such as AI, may be hard to control. AI will undoubtedly become more aggressive in the future. Records of our movements, health and financial transactions will be stored in the cloud. The data may be used for justifiable reasons, such as protein folding and drug development, or to warn us of initial health risks, but its availability to Internet companies is already shifting the balance of power from governments to global-scale corporations. Actually, it’s beyond Earth that AI has the most enormous potential. Humans may have established bases beyond Earth by the year 2100. But don’t ever expect mass emigration from Earth. It’s a false belief that space offers an escape from our problems. Dealing with climate change on Earth is a piece of cake compared to terraforming(地球化)Mars. Nevertheless, we should cheer on these brave human space adventurers. They’ll be ill-adapted to a Martian habitat, so they’ll have a super motive to redesign themselves. It’s they, not those of us adapted to life on Earth, who will pioneer the post-human era. If post-humans make the shift from flesh and blood to fully artificial intelligence, they won’t need an atmosphere of even gravity, so it’s in deep space—not even on Mars—that non biological “brains” may develop powers that we can’t imagine. They may end up being mentally different from us. AI could jump-start a huge emigration and thus even more complex intelligence spreads through the universe. But let’s refocus from the science fiction of the far future closer to the here and now. This century is special. It’s the first, in Earth’s 4.5-billion-year history where one species, ours, holds the planet’s future in its hands. Our intelligence could initiate billions of years of post-human evolution, even more amazing than that which led to us. On the other hand, humans could cause biological, environmental or cyber catastrophes that foreclose all this potential. If science is to save us, we need to think globally, sensibly and long-term—empowered by science, but guided by values that science alone can’t provide. 28. Why does the author mention the two trends in the first paragraph? A. To justify the governments’ policies. B. To advocate for advancements in tech. C. To criticize scientists’ poor prediction ability. D. To highlight the challenges faced by scientists. 29. According to this passage, AI can ________. A. put an end to climate change B. facilitate mass human migration C. speed up the competition in medical fields D. bring about potential threats from big companies 30. As for the future, which of the following will the author agree with? A. Post-humans will echo the history of humans. B. Complex intelligence will dominate the universe. C. Fully artificial intelligence may inhabit outer space. D. Non-biological brains may invite unknown disasters. 31. Which would be the best title for the passage? A. Future of Humanity: Could AI Save Us? B. Towards a Sustainable Future: What Can We Do? C. Change or Die: Will Science Lead Further Evolution? D. Unstoppable Trend: Is Complex Intelligence Coming? 根据第二段中“That’s why we should be promoters of new technology—without it the world can’t provide the food and sustainable energy needed for an expanding population.(这就是为什么我们应该成为新技术的推动者——没有新技术,世界就无法为不断增长的人口提供所需的食物和可持续能源)”可推知,作者提到这两个趋势是为了强调新技术的重要性,从而提倡技术进步,故选B。 29. 根据第二段中“The data may be used for justifiable reasons, such as protein folding and drug development, or to warn us of initial health risks, but its availability to Internet companies is already shifting the balance of power from governments to global-scale corporations.(这些数据可能出于合理的理由被使用,比如蛋白质折叠和药物开发,或者警告我们最初的健康风险,但互联网公司对这些数据的可获得性已经将权力平衡从政府转移到了全球规模的公司)”可知,人工智能可能会带来大公司的潜在威胁,故选D。 30. 根据倒数第三段中“If post-humans make the shift from flesh and blood to fully artificial intelligence, they won’t need an atmosphere of even gravity, so it’s in deep space—not even on Mars—that non biological ‘brains’ may develop powers that we can’t imagine.(如果后人类从血肉之躯转变为完全的人工智能,他们将不再需要大气层甚至重力,所以非生物的‘大脑’可能会在深空——甚至不是在火星上——发展出我们无法想象的能力)”可推知,作者认为完全人工智能可能居住在外太空,故选C。 31. A。 D The deep sea has long been treated as somehow separate from the surface world, a shadowy non-place populated by alien creatures. While this is partly a response to the difficulty of studying it, it also reflects a rooted tendency. As the writer Robert Macfarlane has observed, humans are creatures of the air and light, and we have often regarded the spaces beneath our feet with prejudice, associating them with death, the unseen and unnameable. And while what Macfarlane calls the underland might be a place of ritual(宗教仪式)power as well as a place of burial, the ocean’s depths are more frequently linked with loss and forgetting. For European sailors across the waters of the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic and Indian oceans, however, all that really mattered in navigational practices was knowing where potential obstacles and risks such as reefs and sandbars lay—a way of thinking that transformed the ocean’s depths into a blank irrelevance. It was not until the early 19th century that a more detailed scientific understanding of the deep began to take shape. In part, this was a result of the growing reach of the colonial powers: as the commercial and territorial desire of Europeans and Americans expanded to envelop the globe, the need for more accurate and more detailed knowledge of the ocean grew as well. But it also grew out of the experiences of whalers, whose voyages were now taking them far out into the open waters of the Atlantic and Pacific, and leading to an awareness of the great depths to which whales would often dive. But it was not until the Challenger expedition round the world on its pioneering scientific survey of the world’s oceans in the 1870s that the true extent of the deep ocean finally started to emerge. In the north-west Pacific, where the Mariana Trench plunges downwards into the planet’s crust(地壳), HMS Challenger recorded depths of more than 8,000 metres. Perhaps even more stunning to the scientists of the day, though, was Challenger’ s discovery of tiny shells—and therefore living things—more than 7,000 metres down. 32. What is the common perception of the deep ocean? A. It is seen as a safe shelter for endangered species. B. It is often associated with death and the unknown. C. It is viewed as a place of ritual power and respect. D. It is regarded as a mysterious hiding place of treasures. 33. The European sailors viewed the deep ocean as ________. A. a place full of alien-like creatures. B. a navigational guide to avoid dangers. C. an important area to map and understand. D. an insignificant area unworthy of exploration. 34. What significant discovery did the Challenger expedition make? A. It recorded the first accurate depths of the ocean. B. It successfully sailed across all of the oceans in the world. C. It discovered living organisms at depths of the deep ocean. D. It found that no life could exist at depths greater than 7,000 metres. 35. What is the most appropriate title for the passage? A. The Evolution of Deep Sea Exploration. B. European Sailors and Ocean Navigation. C. The Fear and Mystery of the Deep Ocean. D. The Underland: A Place of Ritual and Burial. 根据第二段第一句“As the writer Robert Macfarlane has observed, humans are creatures of the air and light, and we have often regarded the spaces beneath our feet with prejudice, associating them with death, the unseen and unnameable.(正如作家罗伯特・麦克法兰所观察到的,人类是生活在空气和光明中的生物,我们常常带着偏见看待脚下的空间,将它们与死亡、看不见和无法名状的事物联系在一起)”以及第二段最后一句“And while what Macfarlane calls the underland might be a place of ritual power as well as a place of burial, the ocean’s depths are more frequently linked with loss and forgetting.(虽然麦克法兰所说的地下世界可能是一个具有宗教仪式力量的地方,也是一个埋葬之地,但海洋深处更常与失落和遗忘联系在一起)”可知,人们通常将深海与死亡和未知联系在一起,故选B。 33. 根据第三段“For European sailors across the waters of the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic and Indian oceans, however, all that really mattered in navigational practices was knowing where potential obstacles and risks such as reefs and sandbars lay—a way of thinking that transformed the ocean’s depths into a blank irrelevance.(然而,对于航行在地中海、大西洋和印度洋水域的欧洲水手来说,在航海实践中真正重要的是知道潜在的障碍物和风险,如珊瑚礁和沙洲在哪里——这种思维方式使海洋深处变得无关紧要)”可知,欧洲水手认为深海是一个无关紧要、不值得探索的区域,故选D。 34. 根据最后一段最后一句“Perhaps even more stunning to the scientists of the day, though, was Challenger’ s discovery of tiny shells—and therefore living things—more than 7,000 metres down.(然而,也许对当时的科学家来说更令人震惊的是,挑战者号在 7000 多米深的地方发现了小贝壳,也就意味着发现了生物)”可知,挑战者号探险队的重大发现是在深海深处发现了生物,故选C。 35. The Evolution of Deep Sea Exploration(深海探索的演变),故选A。 French explorer Jacques Cartier is known mainly for exploring the St. Lawrence River and giving Canada its name. One night, I went to bed after studying late. Soon I fell asleep and dreamed that a silver spacecraft landed in my backyard. A tall, glowing alien stepped out and smiled, giving me a feeling of warmth instead of fear. To my amazement, it communicated with me through pictures in my mind, showing me its home planet and their desire for friendship across the stars. Before I could react, I woke up, feeling both disappointed and inspired. This dream has changed my attitude toward the universe. I now believe that alien life probably exists somewhere in space. What excites me most is not only discovering them, but also the possibility of peaceful space communication. I hope one day humans will be wise and kind enough to greet our universal neighbors. This dream changed my attitude toward the universe. She had a dream—to become an astronaut and explore the vastness of space. However, many doubted her dream because they thought it was unrealistic for someone with their poor background. In this village, there was no one daring to have this dream which was beyond the wildest dream. However, Maya was not defeated by the doubt, she dedicated herself to her studies. She bought many volumes of books on astronomy from the faraway libraries. In the beginning, her parents just let go of her crazy passion, but gradually her efforts amazed them. With their support, she even tried to find opportunities online to attend science camps, and sought guidance from mentors(导师). Maya’s passion for space grew stronger with each passing day, fueling her determination to overcome any difficulties in her path. As Maya approached her final year of high school, an opportunity arose—a famous scholarship that offered a chance to study astrophysics(天体物理学)at a famous university. Maya knew that this scholarship could be her ticket to achieving her dreams. The scholarship selection process was strict, testing candidates’ knowledge, skills, and talent. Maya poured countless hours into preparation, expanding her knowledge and improving her abilities. When the day of the scholarship interview arrived, Maya faced a group of professors and experts in the field. Nervously, she answered their questions and shared her passion for space exploration. Weeks turned into months as Maya awaited the scholarship results. Doubts and anxieties stuck in her mind, but she reminded herself of the importance of perseverance. She continued to believe in herself and her abilities, refusing to let setbacks define her journey. Finally, the day of the scholarship announcement arrived. Maya’s heart raced as the names were called one by one. As the last name echoed in the room, Maya’s heart sank—it wasn’t hers. Paragraph 1: Disappointment washed over her, but she refused to let it stop her dreams. __________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: Moved by Maya’s determination, the astronaut became her mentor, guiding her on a new journey. _______ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【参考范文】   Disappointment washed over her, but she refused to let it stop her dreams. Although the interview was a failure, Maya refused to let self-doubt consume her. Her parents also comforted her that they would try their best to sponsor her further education without the scholarship. With firm determination, Maya kept learning and meanwhile, sought alternative paths. She reached out to professors, connected with concerned professionals, and explored other opportunities in the field of space exploration. Maya’s toughness and perseverance attracted the attention of a famous astronaut who recognized her passion and potential. Moved by Maya’s determination, the astronaut became her mentor, guiding her on a new journey. Maya gained hands-on experience, participated in research projects, and immersed herself in the world of space exploration. Years passed, and Maya’s perseverance paid off. She became an accomplished astrophysicist and, eventually, realized her childhood dream of becoming an astronaut. Maya went into space and stared at the earth from above, feeling excited about her great achievements. Disappointment washed over her, but she refused to let it stop her dreams. When looking back all the skepticism and setbacks, she felt they were no longer roadblocks but opportunities for growth. One can achieve extraordinary heights by staying committed to dreams, and persisting in the face of obstacles. Excuse me, can you tell . me how much . the shirt is? The following are four books about them. Who Was Selena? As a young girl, Selena Quintanilla sang in a band called Selena Y Los Dinos with her brother and sister. The family performed at fairs, weddings, parties and on street corners in their native Texas. Selena learned how to sing in Spanish and soon became hugely popular within the Latino community—so much so that she became the best selling Latin artists of the 1990s. Who Was Chuck Jones? C Scientists are poor forecasters of the future. D The deep sea has long been treated as somehow separate from the surface world, a shadowy non-place populated by alien creatures. French explorer Jacques Cartier is known mainly for exploring the St. Lawrence River and giving Canada its name. _______ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第11页(共12页) 试题 第12页(共12页) 试题 第9页(共12页) 试题 第10页(共12页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026学年高二英语下学期第一次月考卷02(译林版) (考试时间:120分钟 试卷满分:150分) 考生注意: 1. How much is the shirt? Zhai Mo’s historic Arctic voyage and its environmental mission. D. The collection of inspiration for Zhai Mo’s art works during sailing. C Scientists are poor forecasters of the future. D The deep sea has long been treated as somehow separate from the surface world, a shadowy non-place populated by alien creatures. French explorer Jacques Cartier is known mainly for exploring the St. Lawrence River and giving Canada its name. _______ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1 / 15 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
