Ⅱ.典型句式讲透
句型公式:“the+比较级...,the+比较级...”越……,就越……
(教材原句)However,the more polite you are,the less likely it is you will be attacked.
然而,你越有礼貌,你被攻击的可能性就越小。
(1)“the+比较级...,the+比较级...”句型中的两个the的后面都必须跟形容词或副词的比较级形式,意为“越……,就越……”。其中前面的“the+比较级...”相当于一个条件状语从句,因此在表示将来意义的情况时,从句要用一般现在时表示将来;而后一个“the+比较级...”是主句,用一般将来时。
(2)“比较级+and+比较级”表示“越来越……”的意思,与这类结构搭配的常用动词有grow,get,become等。
