A. Do in his own way B. Make up his decisions. C. Think more about others.

【答案】18. C 19. A 20. B
【解析】
【原文】 Men usually want to have their own way. They want to think and act as they like. No one, however, can have his own way all the time. A man cannot live in society without considering the interests of others as well as his own interests. Society means a group of people with the same laws and the same way of life. People in society may make their own decisions. One man’s decisions may so easily harm another person. For example, a motorist may be in a hurry to get to a friend’s house. He sets out driving at full speed, like a competitor in a motor race. There are other vehicles and also people on the road. Suddenly there is a crash. There are screams and confusion. One careless motorist has struck another car. The collision has injured two of the passengers and killed the third. Too many road accidents happen through the thoughtlessness of selfish drivers.

For Li Donglin, an 18-year-old senior high school student, this past summer was all about cultural relic sites. He joined the cultural relics census (普查) team in Huanghua, Hebei, becoming its youngest member. This census is part of the fourth national cultural relics census, which started in November 2023 and is set to end by June 2026. Its goal is to record and get a deep understanding of the conditions of immovable cultural heritage sites, including ancient sites and tombs across the country.
Li’s love for cultural relics began at an early age. Since childhood, he has enjoyed collecting things and now has over 100 cultural artifacts (手工艺品). Li also has repaired many artifacts, improving this skill by learning from all kinds of sources.
Despite his strong connection to ancient artifacts, this was his first time taking part in a cultural relics census. “I thought at first that the census was just about visiting sites and doing a simple investigation,” Li told Teens. However, the census work turned out to be quite opposite. In the investigation of cultural relics, measuring areas is a major task. To provide a better description of the ancient village site in Changguo Town in Huanghua, the team had to walk a long way to work out the site’s boundaries (界限). In the hot summer sun, Li made his way through overgrown corn fields to identify the boundaries in all directions, often walking up to 30,000 steps per day.
During these walks, he also needed to do some digging. “After digging, we examined the soil to find any signs of cultural relics,” Li said. “This step is key to making sure we get the boundaries right and don’t miss any relics.” Then, the team used special tools to work out the site’s total area.
“It is hard work, but being able to describe each site so that each site receives the most protection makes us very happy,” Li said.
21. What is the purpose of the national cultural relics census?
A. To establish a national registry of cultural relics.
B. To promote tourism in historical sites nationwide.
C. To train young students in archaeological techniques.
D. To identify the most valuable historical sites nationwide.

第二节(满分25分)
67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写词数应为150左右。
I remember the first time I met Roy. He was telling a joke. When he reached the final line, everyone burst out laughing. “A popular boy,” I thought to myself. My name is Daniel. I was the new boy in the class. There were 33 students in my new class, and most people weren’t very interested in a shy new boy. Roy was kind to me. He often invited me to join his particular group and we became good friends. We trusted each other and we could talk about personal matters.
Five years later, Roy and I were still in the same class. But just a year ago Roy’s father was knocked over by a car. He died a few days later. The family had difficulty with finance. Roy changed completely. He started losing friends, including me.
About three months ago, a group of us were playing football together after school. Having left something in the classroom, I went inside to get it and found Roy going through the pockets of people’s coats. In his hand he had a wallet — and I knew it wasn’t his. Roy’s face went bright red. “I will put it back right now,” he said, and he did so. I turned round and walked out without saying a word, I really hoped that Roy would explain why he had been stealing, but instead he started avoiding me.
Last week, our school had a big fair in order to raise money for a charity and we made about £500. But to our surprise, the next morning, we were told that the money had been stolen. This morning I decided to ask Roy about the theft, so I went to see him. Roy was out. I put his jacket on and put my hands in the pockets. I could feel a lot of paper notes and I pulled them out. It looked as if there were about £500 there. I was so surprised that I just stood there, holding the notes in my hand. And that moment, Roy walked in.
Seeing me standing there with money in my hand, Roy felt panicked. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
We went to the head teacher Mrs Smith together. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】例文
Seeing me standing there with money in my hand, Roy felt panicked. I became very angry, asking him if it was the money that we raised last week. His face went bright red, admitting that he had stolen it in a low voice. I slowly calmed down and hugged him, telling him that I would be willing to help him overcome his difficulty. He wept and then we had a sincere talk face to face. At last, we agreed to return the money.
We went to the head teacher Mrs Smith together. In the teacher’s office, Roy returned the money to Mrs Smith, and guaranteed not to do such things again. Though Mrs Smith was so surprised that she couldn’t believe her eyes, she praised him for his courage and told him if he had difficulty with finance she would be ready to help him. Roy was moved to tears. After that, we became good friends again. We trusted each other and shared sorrow and happiness together.
