(十三)七选五之非常规文体记叙文专练 A (2025·武汉高中毕业生调研考试)I hated writing growing up.But I couldn’t avoid it:Learning English was a must in high school. For hours,I stared at blank pages, trying to turn my disorganized thoughts into fluent sentences.I tried my best but my teachers would return my papers littered with red.I was frustrated to no end.1. And that was OK.I didn’t have to be good at everything. 2. I liked it that objective truths could be found if I searched properly. In college,I joined a research lab to enhance conductor efficiency, and after a year of hard work,we developed a design that halved energy loss. However, the joy was short-lived as I had to write a research paper about our findings. I knew that if I wanted to become an academic,I would need to spend time penning papers. But with my awful track record with writing,I was scared of failing. In a panic,I asked a graduate student in my lab for help.We defined a goal for the paper, and I carefully wrote an outline. But when I asked him for feedback,I soon found the paper covered in red marks.3. Before I could give up in defeat, though, the graduate student explained those red marks didn’t mean I was a bad writer.4. It requires revising your work, often several times.I kept improving the outline of my paper, eventually turning it into sentences and paragraphs. My initial draft wasn’t perfect.I had buried a few key takeaways, and the introduction was missing important context. But with help,I finally made it. From then on,writing became one of my favorite parts of research.5. But I came around. All it took was some trial and error. A.“Not again,” I screamed inside. B.I should view it in a positive way. C.Maybe I wasn’t cut out for writing. D.Writing isn’t a one-and-done thing. E.I soon realized writing was my strength. F.I switched to the world of math and science. G.I had never imagined it in my wildest dreams. 4.D [根据下文的“It requires revising your work, often several times”可知,写作需要多次修订,故D项“写作不是一蹴而就的事情”与下文衔接紧密。 B (2025·湖北华中师大一附高三校考)Some pals and I were in the midst of a pinball competition at a bar the other night when the machine kept breaking down.We called over a very busy employee who’s responsible for helping keep the place running. He put everything aside to fix our problematic pinball machine twice.1. A couple of the guys immediately objected, saying the employee was just doing the job he was paid to do.I insisted and got the group to agree to the plan, although somewhat reluctantly. My pinball wizard didn’t stretch out his hand, but how many times have we run across those payment screens that suggest a 20% tip for being handed a sandwich we ordered? 2. There is data to back up the trend: 66% of American adults have a negative view of tipping, and 32% say they’re sick of those payment-screen hints, according to a recent Bankrate survey. 3. I admit there are times I suspect the tipping thing has gone too far—say, when I’m at a self-checkout line and there’s still request to leave something extra. But I’m generally willing to err on the side of caution: If someone is expecting a tip,I’ll assume they have financial reasons to do so.4. Plus, tipping is good karma (因果报应).It’s always worth it to tip in unexpected situations—ones that don’t necessarily involve a hint on a payment screen.5. He was so grateful for the 10 tip that later that night,he rewarded our group with well more than 10 in free tokens (代金券) for future play. So next time, there must be no arguments with my friends when times come to tip. A.This leads to what’s been called “tipping fatigue (疲劳)” B.So,why am I willing to go against the trend and say yes? C.I suggested we tip him 10 and split the tip among all of us. D.There’s an argument that we should ban tipping altogether. E.Guess what happened next with my pinball-machine fixer at the bar? F.One dollar or two won’t make or break me,but it can possibly help with their rent. G.Should they earn far below the minimum wage, employers must make up the difference. 1.C [上文“He put everything aside to fix our problematic pinball machine twice.”以及下文“A couple of the guys immediately objected, saying the employee was just doing the job he was paid to do.” 2.A [上文“My pinball wizard didn’t stretch out his hand, but how many times have we run across those payment screens that suggest a 20% tip for being handed a sandwich we ordered?” 3.B [上文“There is data to back up the trend: 66% of American adults have a negative view of tipping, and 32% say they’re sick of those payment-screen hints, according to a recent Bankrate survey.” 下文“I admit there are times I suspect the tipping thing has gone too far—say, when I’m at a self-checkout line and there’s still request to leave something extra.” B项中的“I willing to go against the trend ”和上文“There is data to back up the trend”相呼应,并引出作者原意违反这一趋势的原因,故选B。] 4.F [上文“But I’m generally willing to err on the side of caution: If someone is expecting a tip,I’ll assume they have financial reasons to do so.” 5.E [下文“He was so grateful for the 10 tip that later that night,he rewarded our group with well more than 10 in free tokens(代金券)for future play”说明付小费也会得到回报。 C (2025·浙江嘉兴5月高三模拟)What I learned watching dentist at work I would like to be a dentist in the future.1. The patient, tender dentist comforted me,a 7-year-old girl at the time, and persuaded me to stop crying and to accept my treatment. 2. Recently, our teacher gave us the homework of experiencing a kind of job on the weekend.I chose without hesitation to live a day as a dentist at my friend’s older brother’s workplace. I got to Dr Tan’s clinic at 7:45 am,15 minutes before office hours began on Saturday.Dr Tan,who has been a dentist for five years, sat in his consulting room with a mask on his face and waited for his patients.I didn’t really understand his diagnoses or treatments, but I could see that Dr Tan was a responsible doctor. He explained conditions and therapies (治疗方案) to patients at length to remove their doubts. He paused operations to let patients rest if the treatment was taking too much time.3. Dr Tan worked for almost the whole morning without a break. He only made a phone call to his wife to remind her to have an antenatal (产前) examination.Yes,he will be a father in five months, but he still cannot keep his wife company at the weekend.4. They try to ease others’ pain anytime and anywhere, despite the cost to their own time and life. As the last patient said goodbye to Dr Tan in the afternoon,my visit came to an end.I now feel that I understand more about doctors.5. A.My dream has finally come true. B.They are the heroes I admire most. C.Doctors are ordinary people, yet they are also angels. D.It helps me to reduce stress, find friends and learn new skills. E.I thought it was a dream that was almost impossible to fulfill F.That’s all because of a dentist I came across during my childhood. G.He also gave a doctor’s advice to his patients carefully before they went out the door. 1.F [前一句I would like to be a dentist in the future说到“我想要做一名牙医”,后一句The patient, tender dentist comforted me,a 7-year-old girl at the time, and persuaded me to stop crying and to accept my treatment讲述“我7岁时看牙医的经历”。 2.A [根据前一段I would like to be a dentist in the future“我想要做一名牙医”和后一句“I chose without hesitation to live a day as a dentist”可知“我终于有机会实现愿望了”。故选A。] 3.G [前面几句 He explained conditions and therapies (治疗方案) to patients at length to remove their doubts. He paused operations to let patients rest if the treatment was taking too much time都在介绍Dr Tan的工作态度,之后的句子是总结Dr Tan整个上午的工作状态,所以空选择G符合行文逻辑。] 4.C [根据后一句“They try to ease others’ pain anytime and anywhere”他们试图随时随地减轻别人的痛苦。 5.B [前文As the last patient said goodbye to Dr Tan in the afternoon,my visit came to an end.I now feel that I understand more about doctors作者根据自己的亲身体验更加了解牙医这个职业,所以用一句总结性句子进行概况;他们是我最崇拜的英雄。 核心 单词 A篇 Para.1:fluent adj. 高等院校教师 (2)pen(Para.3)常用义:n. 写 核心 短语 A篇 Para.1:stare at凝视,盯着看 be littered with sth.充满某物 Para.3:in a panic在惊慌之中 Para.5:trial and error反复试验,不断摸索 B篇 in the midst of 在…… 放在一边,暂时搁置 run across 偶然碰到,偶然发现 C篇 come across 偶然遇见,偶然发现 remove one’s doubts 打消某人的疑虑 keep sb.company 陪伴某人 ease one’s pain 减轻某人的痛苦 despite the cost to...
