Two years ago, she felt trapped by endless housework and an unhappy marriage. She was desperate for an escape. The turning point came in March 2023 at a live show of a female comedian where, during audience interaction, Fang humorously introduced herself as “the director of the information center” in her village. Fang’s quick-witted, humorous answer stole the show, and the clip later went viral online. Impressed, the comedian invited Fang to join a comedy training session, and even got Fang's travel, accommodation, and training expenses covered. That marked the beginning of Fang’s journey into becoming a stand-up comedian. Stand-up became her emotional release, giving her the courage to leave her 30-year marriage. In the comedy competition, Fang delivered a hilarious yet touching set about how the stand-up comedy empowered her to divorce her husband and build a new life with her two daughters. Yang Tianzhen, judge on the show, remarks that Fang embodies the resilient spirit of Chinese women with strength created from misfortune. Tan Xiaolong, producer of the show, admits she initially had doubts when first encountering Fang's audition tape. When they met in person, all her doubts vanished. Her raw authenticity and strong ability to consistently transform life experiences into comedy made casting her an undeniable choice. Raised in poverty, Fang left school early for factory work. After marriage, she carried heavy domestic duties. Discovering comedy through podcasts opened a new world. After initial struggles at open mics, she found her voice. “Stand-up soon became my release. Comedy helped me make peace with life,” Fang says. Comedy became both emotional relief and a path to independence. She concluded powerfully by marking her milestones: signing as a comedian on April 8, 2023. Moreover, her daughter praised her natural talent and perseverance, seeing her as an inspiring example. 4. What initially made Fang Zhuren famous online? A. Winning a comedy competition. B. Leaving her long-term marriage. C. Training with a famous comedian. D. Responding humorously at a show. 5. What can be inferred about Fang's comedy training? A. It was funded by her family. B. It required years to complete. C. It came after her viral moment. D. It focused on basic writing skills. 6. Which two words best describe Fang Zhuren? A. Resilient and persistent. B. Ambitious and proud. C. Cautious and conservative. D. Humorous and considerate. 7. What can we learn from this passage? A. Stand-up comedy is only suitable for young, educated people from urban areas. B. Personal struggles can be turned into comedy, leading to self-growth and life changes. C. Social media popularity is the sole determinant of success in modern comedy. D. Traditional family roles should never be questioned or altered. C Many parents confused by how their children shop or socialize, would feel undisturbed by how they are taught — this sector remains digitally behind. Can artificial intelligence boost the digital sector of classroom? ChatGPT-like generative AI is generating excitement for providing personalized tutoring to students. By May, New York had let the bot back into classrooms. Learners are accepting the technology. Two-fifths of undergraduates surveyed last y car by online tutoring company Chegg reported using an AI chatbot to help them with their studies, with half of those using it daily. Chegg’s chief executive told investors it was losing customers to ChatGPT as a result of the technology’s popularity. Yet there are good reasons to believe that education specialists who harness AI will eventually win over generalists such as Open AI and other tech firms eyeing the education business. For one, AI chat bots have a bad habit of producing nonsense. “Students want content from trusted providers,” argues Kate Edwards from a textbook publisher. Her company hasn’t allowed ChatGPT and other AIs to use its material, but has instead used the content to train its own models into its learning apps. Besides, teaching isn’t merely about giving students an answer, but about presenting it in a way that helps them learn. Charbots must also be tailored to different age groups to avoid either cheating or infantilizing (使婴儿化) students. Bringing AI to education won’t be easy. Many teachers are behind the learning curve. Less than a fifth of British educators surveyed by Pearson last year reported receiving training on digital learning tools. Tight budgets at many institutions will make selling new technology an uphill battle. Teachers’ attention may need to shift towards motivating students and instructing them on how to best work with AI tools. If those answers can be provided, it’s not just companies that stand to benefit. An influent in l paper from 1984 found that one-to-one tutoring improved the average academic performance of students. With the learning of students, especially those from poorer households, held back, such a development would certainly deserve top marks. 8. What do many parents think remains untouched by AI about their children? A. Their shopping habits. B. Their social behavior. C. Their classroom learning. D. Their interest in digital devices. 9. What does the underlined word “harness” in paragraph 2 mean? A. Develop. B. Use. C. Prohibit. D. Blame. 10. What mainly prevents AI from entering the classroom at present? A. Many teachers aren’t prepared technically. B. Tailored chatbots can’t satisfy different needs. C. AI has no right to copy textbooks for teaching. D. It can be tricked to produce nonsense answers. 11. Where is the text most probably taken from? A. An introduction to AI. B. A product advertisement. C. A guidebook to AI application. D. A review of AI in education. D Power often boosts an employee’s creativity because being powerful liberates the individual from restrictions. However, new research shows that employees who are not in positions of power can become more creative when given time to “warm up” to a task by engaging in the creative task more than once. “This is important because when people with more power are able to express their creative ideas more than those with less power, which leads to a rich-get-richer dynamic that strengthens these power imbalances,” said Brian Lucas, assistant professor in the Cornell University. “Understanding ways to boost the creativity of lower power workers can help them find the right way to deal with this low-power disadvantage,” Lucas said. Lucas and his colleagues conducted two studies to reach their conclusion. In the first study, they divided the creative idea generation session into two rounds consisting of a one-minute “warm up” followed by a second round in which the participants could take as long as they wanted.Participants were randomly assigned to a high-power condition or a low-power condition, and feelings of power were generated with a role manipulation (操纵) where participants were given a leadership role and control over resources (high power) or an employee role with no control over resources (low power). The study found that high-power individuals were more creative than low-power individuals in the warm-up round. There was no difference, though, in creativity in the second round. In the second study, the researchers gave them a different creative task and increased the number of rounds from two sessions to five, taking as long as they like to complete the task. Similar to the first study, the study found that high-power individuals were more creative than low-power individuals in the first round. But the creativity of low-power individuals caught up to the creativity of the high-power individuals after the first round. “The low-power warm-up effect suggests a simple intervention that empowers all employees to tap their creative potential and overcomes power imbalances in the workplace: when pursuing creative work, let employees warm up first,” Lucas said. 12. Why does Lucas think it important to boost the creativity of lower power workers? A. It maintains power imbalances. B. It motivates their ambition to catch up. C. It creates a competitive work environment. D. It encourages a workplace with more equality. 13. How did Lucas and his co-authors stimulate feelings of power in the participants? A. Through a creative task with time limits. B. Through providing them with different positions. C. Through a competition between leaders and employees. D. Through assigning them to different conditions intentionally. 14. How did the second study differ from the first study? A. It had fewer rounds. B. It involved more participants. C. Participants had a changed task. D. Participants’ creativity gap became wider. 15. Which of the following is the best title for the text? A. Power tends to encourage creative ideas. B. Changing tasks boosts all the employees’ creativity. C. Warm-up time corrects creativity power imbalances. D. Low-power individuals outperform the high-power ones. Everybody wants to hang out with fun people. Our driveway was on the opposite side of the house, so we’d installed a security camera for just such occasions. Sure enough, it revealed a massive, four-legged creature wandering around. Moments later, we caught sight of it gently touching the window with his snout (口鼻部) and grunting softly. “He’s adorable!” my 10-year-old daughter, Ella, squealed, “I’m going to say hello!” I cautioned her that we didn’t know if the pig was friendly, but before I could stop her, she was already out the door. To our relief, the colossal pig seemed perfectly content to be petted and fawned over (讨好). Ella pleaded to keep him, but I gently explained that we didn’t have enough space. Disappointed though Ella was, Lindsey and I decided to send the pig back. I called a local farmer to see if the pig belonged to him. When I described the animal’s size and distinctive markings, he chuckled, confirming that it was definitely Kevin Bacon, who was probably just out looking for some company. The Hollywood actor’s name gave us all a good laugh. The farmer also told us Kevin enjoyed playing with kids. We learned that the farmer was away on business and wouldn’t be able to return until the next day. He asked if we could walk Kevin home. “I’m not sure we’ll be able to get him to move,” I replied. “You could try luring (引诱) him with food,” the farmer suggested. He then mentioned that Kevin had a soft spot for Oreos Fortunately, we had some Oreos in the biscuit tin. I hoped it would be enough. Then Lindsey managed to fit Kevin with a dog leash (狗绳). After checking the route to the farm, we set off with a bag of treats. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Suddenly, we realized there was only one Oreo left and it was impossible to find more food. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2025—2026学年度第一学期期末教学质量评价检测卷 高三英语 注意事项: 1. 1. However, I don’t think they can completely replace paper books for the following reasons. Initially, the experience of reading paper books is unique as holding a book and turning its pages contribute to a deeper engagement with the text. Many readers find that they concentrate better and remember more when reading from paper books. Moreover, paper books have little dependence on technology or power. A paper book never runs out of battery, requires no Wi-Fi, and remains accessible anytime, anywhere — whether during travel, outdoors, or in low-tech environments. In my opinion, e-books and paper books will continue to coexist. Rather than one replacing the other, they offer complementary ways to enjoy reading in different contexts of life. One possible version: After checking the route to the farm, we set off with a bag of treats. Kevin Bacon walked slowly beside us, his big ears flapping and eyes fixed on the Oreo bag in Ella’s hand. Every time she shook it, he let out a happy grunt and followed closely. The kids were laughing and petting him as we went down the road. At first, everything went well. But when we reached the steep hill near the farm, Kevin suddenly stopped. He sat down right in the middle of the path and wouldn’t move, no matter how many Oreos we offered. He just looked at us calmly, as if saying, “I’m tired.” Suddenly, we realized there was only one Oreo left and it was impossible to find more food. Ella looked worried. “What are we going to do?” she asked. I had an idea. I broke the last cookie in half and put one piece a few steps ahead. Kevin got up and ate it. Then Lindsey tossed the other half a little farther. We kept doing this — step by step — until we finally reached the farm gate. Just then, the farmer arrived in his truck. He smiled and thanked us. As we walked home, we all agreed: it was the strangest, sweetest adventure we’d ever had. 8808。。8年。卡9 试卷类型A☐ B▣ 选择题填涂样例:正确填涂 缺考标记(禁止考生填涂)☐ 选择题(用2B铅笔填涂) 1.A 6.[A [B a 11. 1B 16.0 B 2345 AAAA 7. 12. @ 17.A▣ 8圆 岛 圆 18.▣ 19.A 10.四 B 15.
