T: Good morning, boys and girls! How are you today?
Ss: Good morning! We are fine, thank you.
T: Great! Last lesson, we planned a surprise party for Li Ming. Today is the day! Let's learn Lesson 22: Surprise!. Let's read the title together.
Ss: Surprise!
二、新知呈现:A surprise party(约15分钟)
T: Today is Li Ming's surprise party. Who is shopping with Li Ming?
(Read: "Mr. Smith and Li Ming are shopping. Mr. Smith will bring Li Ming home at 4:00. That's when the party begins! Mr. Smith knows about the party, but Li Ming doesn't.")
T: Who comes to the door first?
(Read: "Danny opens the door. It's Steven! 'Hi! I'm here early,' says Steven. 'Do you need any help?' 'Yes! Come to the kitchen!' says Danny.")
T: What do they make in the kitchen?
(Read: "Danny, Jenny and Steven make a beautiful cake and nine cookies. Look! Every cookie has letters!")
Ss: A cake and nine cookies!
T: At 3:45, who is not there?
(Read: "At 3:45, all of the people arrive for the party, but not Kim. Oh! Here she comes. She went to the shop and bought some ice cream.")
Ss: Kim! She bought ice cream!
T: What happens at 4:00?
(Read: "At 4:00, Li Ming arrives with Mr. Smith. Li Ming opens the door. 'Surprise!'")
Ss: Everyone surprises Li Ming!
T: Perfect! It's a great surprise!

T: Now let's answer the questions with "Yes" or "No".
Does Li Ming go shopping with Mrs. Smith? No. (He goes with Mr. Smith.)
