内容正文:

Which Chinese astronaut would you like to write about, and what things can you mention in the article? I’d like to write about Nie Haisheng. I could mention how he became an astronaut, the missions that he went on, his other achievements, and so on. Warm- up Wang Yao first organized her ideas. She used the questions below to plan her writing. Pre-writing Who am I going to write about?  _________________ What was his / her childhood like? How did he / she become an astronaut? early life What personal qualities helped him / her become successful? Are there any quotes that show these qualities? personal qualities Which space missions did he / she take part in? missions What were his / her main achievements? Did he / she receive any honours or titles? If yes, which one(s)? achievements Wang Yao searched for these types of information and made a table. Can you colour-code the different types of information? A. early life B. key missions C. honours D. quote showing personal qualities Pre-writing Read Wang Yao’s article and the different types of information from her notes. Writing tip 1: Use a clear structure (e.g. early life, personal qualities, key missions, achievements / honours). Pre-writing Look at Wang Yao’s notes, and then compare them with the article. Which information did she not use? Why do you think she left this part out? Wang Yao didn’t mention that Nie Haisheng loved reading when he was little. I think she left this out because it wasn’t as important as the other information. Writing tip 2: You don’t need to include all the information you collected. Try to focus on the most important and interesting information. Pre-writing Look at the title and discuss the question. Here’s a list of titles Wang Yao once made for her article. Which is the best? Why? A. Nie Haisheng B. Nie Haisheng: an astronaut C. Nie Haisheng: a heroic astronaut Writing tip 3: Choose an eye-catching title that reflects the main idea of the article. Pre-writing Writing tip 4: Remember to use the past tense and the third person perspective. Sub-topics Words & expressions Early life When ... was little, he / she ...
