On the sixth day, new green sprouts 6 through the soil like treasures (宝物). From then on, I hurried to the garden before breakfast every day, 7 a notebook in one hand to draw tiny leaves. When insects came, we thought about 8 to do and created a special insect killer—garlic (大蒜) water. Through sunny and rainy days, the plants gradually grew wildly.
It took me months of 9 to wait for the peas to grow up. Nature shows me the growing rule. That’s when I realized answers 10 only after weeks of continuous practice.

Passage 4
The summer when I was thirteen, Grandma taught me the most valuable lesson through a handful of dry peas.
“Shall we 1 them up?” Grandma’s eyes shone with secrets. Her warm hands guided mine as we planted the seeds (种子) in the soil together. “Patience is the 2 to all good things,” she said in a low voice.
I’d watered the planting area 3 for three weeks, checking every morning with my schoolbag still on my shoulders. However, days passed and there was no sign of sprouts (新芽). 4 washed over me. “Maybe they’re too old,” I suggested, 5 to give up the project. Grandma smiled confidently, “Let’s give them seven more sunrises.”
One day, while I was watering the peas, Grandma pointed to the plants near the fence (栅栏) and said, “Look! The strongest peas grow here. They had to work the 11 because the fence took away most sunlight here.” The truth shocked me like the summer rain: 12 positions never lead to meaningful growth.
The most beautiful changes of life begin underground long before we see any growth. The 13 growth of peas is like every dream in its way. We’re all seeds carrying unknown possibilities, requiring not just time but true patience and day-by-day efforts.
