考查情态动词的被动语态。should be allowed应该被允许;shouldn’t be allowed不应该被允许;allow允许(动词原形);are allowed被允许(一般现在时被动语态)。根据后半句“because they are too young”可知,因为他们年龄太小,所以不应该被允许去网吧,需用否定形式且主语“Sixteen-year-olds”与“允许”之间为被动关系。故选B。

考查情态动词表推测的用法。are是;might be可能是;must be一定是;can’t be不可能是。根据“she doesn’t wear glasses”可知,简不戴眼镜,因此眼镜不可能是她的,表示否定推测用can’t be。故选D。

A. what B. who C. when D. that

A. feel B. felt C. feeling D. to feel
【答案】A

考查使役动词make的用法。feel感觉(动词原形);felt感觉(过去式/过去分词);feeling感觉(现在分词);to feel感觉(动词不定式)。使役动词make后接省略to的动词不定式作宾语补足语,即“make sb. do sth.”结构,表示“使某人做某事”。因此,此处应填动词原形feel。故选A。

One day, while I was waiting for my father. I saw a little boy, around two years old, running freely on the grass as his mother watched from a short distance (距离). The boy had a big smile on his face. The boy would fall on the grass, get up, without looking back at his mother, run as fast as he could, again, still with a smile on his face, as if nothing had happened.
At that moment, I thought to myself, “Why aren’t most adults this way? ” Most adults, when they fall down, make a big deal out of it and don’t even make a second try. They will be so embarrassed that they will not try again if someone sees them fall. Or, because they fall, they will find a good excuse for themselves that they are not fit for it. They will end up being too afraid to try again for fear of failure.
However, as to kids, when they fall down, they don’t consider their falling down as a failure, instead, they look on it as a learning experience. They try again and again until they succeed. The answer must be that they have not connected “falling down” with the word “failure”. What’s more, they probably think to themselves that it is quite okay to fall down and that it is not wrong to do so. In other words, they allow themselves to make mistakes.
31. How does the writer introduce the topic of the passage?
A. By explaining the meaning. B. By listing some numbers.
C. By showing some examples. D. By giving the background.
32. What did the boy do while the writer was waiting for his father? Put the events in right order.
a. He got up and went on running. b. His mother watched him running.
c. He ran freely on the grass. d. He fell down on the grass.
A. a-b-c-d B. b-c-d-a C. c-b-d-a D. d-c-b-a
33. What will most adults do if they fail according to the passage?
A. They will ask others for help. B. They will make a second try.
C. They will look for a better way. D. They will give up trying again.
34. What does the underlined word “it” in the last paragraph refer to?
A. The kids’ falling down. B. The kids’ playing on grass.
C. The smile. D. The mistake.
35. What’s the purpose of this passage?
A. To tell us that two heads are better than one. B. To tell us that failure is the mother of success.

Friends can help each other by realizing that they are not alone in their feelings. Talking to parents is important, too. Parents can share their own ways of dealing with bad moods (心情). Teachers are also there to talk with you and make you feel better.
When you are in a bad mood, you can go for a run, play some tennis, ride your bike, or punch a punching bag (打沙袋).
Though it can be hard to find enough time, getting enough rest is very important. Being tired can cause more sadness.
Writing can help you express thoughts and feelings. Don’t worry about grammar or spelling. The important thing is just to write down your thoughts on paper. Do the same thing with painting, music, or other art forms. Put your feelings into your artwork.
There’s nothing wrong with crying. In fact, it often makes a person feel better. If you find that you are sad or bored most of the time, or if you just can’t seem to feel happy, you can have a cry. Crying may help you feel relaxed.

33. What will most adults do if they fail according to the passage?
A. They will ask others for help. B. They will make a second try.
C. They will look for a better way. D. They will give up trying again.

A. The kids’ falling down. B. The kids’ playing on grass.
C. The smile. D. The mistake.
35. What’s the purpose of this passage?
